Yes, this is a neighborhood dive bar that caters almost exclusively to regulars. We got some weird glances, but the old bar wench didn't mind taking my yankee money. Lots of Pabst paraphernalia on the wall informed my fluid selection, but the $2.75 for a can was a bit much, IMFO. Very little else appealing in the beer department, but cheap bloody marys topped us off. I might come back whilst on another Southside beer tour, but don't need to schlep alla way down there just to carpetbag and feel cultured.

I work at a downtown craft beer bar, and find the Buttonhole a nice change of pace. There are few small bars of its kind left. It is a piece of Americana that is disappearing.
