Bub's Burgers & Ice Cream

Lots of pics of those who successfully beat the "Big Ugly" pounder challenges throughout the building. Bub's has a family friendly vibes and has TV throughout, that night it was poker games being broadcasted. There are also games on the table so we played Uno while we waited for our order. Bub's has a private parking lot in the back. We ordered quarter pound burgers,chicken sandwich and fries for the table. My little one had a PB & J , fries and milk. Fries were nice and crispy. My sandwich was just too salty for my taste. All others enjoyed their meals. Overall, Bub's is a decent place for burgers.

I've been to Bubs a few different times. Today, the staff was made up of teenagers who were friendly and attentive, if not overly and awkwardly so. We had multiple unnecessary stops by our table and the one time we needed drink refills, the gal forgot. We had to ask another server. The burger was great except I didn't read or realize that the bacon was chopped. It was also overcooked. A burger needs sliced bacon that won't fall off. The fries were just okay. Solid four stars.

I usually dine at the Bub's in Bloomington, but today was a special occasion. My best friend's mom was throwing her a surprise baby shower, and the Zionsville Bub's was the most convenient spot for everyone to gather without the long drive to Bloomington from their locations up north. They also chose this location because my bestie likes Bub's Burgers. In fact, she wanted to eat it for lunch that afternoon, but her mom ultimately made up some sort of excuse to draw her away from the restaurant.Let me dive in by emphasizing that this was a SURPRISE baby shower. My task was to lure her from Bloomington to Zionsville without tipping her off about the real reason. I came up with this elaborate story to get her on board for the one-and-a-half-hour journey. Towards the end, she was growing suspicious because she asks so many damned unnecessary questions, and upon arrival, spotting familiar cars heightened her skepticism. The kicker was the host (and later our server) said out, "Oh, is this for the baby shower?" when I approached the front to check in. My mouth literally dropped open and I begrudgingly said "yes". Still, they snagged four stars because she was already quite suspicious, and the server did an excellent job looking after us during our stay.The quality matched what I'm used to in Bloomington, so nothing that knocked my socks off. But the private room upstairs to ourselves was nice. It's not too big, but it would very easily fit 20ish people.

Best place if you want hometown, messy, happy food. Service feels like family, and you will always leave full!

Bub's needs a bit of help. I stood at their host stand for a full 3 or 4 minutes while 3 employees talked shop and did not even acknowledge me. It was awkward. I've worked in hospitality since I was a kid and always live the 15:5. Make eye contact within 15 feet of the guest and greet within 5. Even if just to say "hello, we'll be with you in a moment."That being said, the server was lovely. The food was decent and I loved that there was a deck of uno cards at the table. We played a game just before food arrived. Options for anyone with dietary restrictions are lacking, would love to see more available!

I do not see why this restaurant gets a bum rap. My experience was super. They have some free street parking available in the front. They have a large indoor dining area and covered outdoor patio seating. There is also a couple of picnic tables just outside of the patio, in the grass that you can eat at too. The dinning area has a few televisions and is wallpapered with pictures of people that conquered the restaurant's food challenge. I am not sure really what the food challenge is, but by the amount of pictures that are on the wall, it does not seem too difficult. My little put the little kid pack that they gave here with some crayons and gold fish crackers to good use, as well as the Uno cards they had laying on the table (I won by the way).When you walk in, the first thing you will see is the ice cream shop. They have a couple of coolers full of ice cream that you can get in a cup or cone. Of course my little had to get a cone. It was packed with ice cream. So much so that she could not eat it all. This restaurant does things a little different. You order your food at the hostess station and then you sit down and they bring your food to you. If you are getting a burger you have choices. You have to choose between beef and elk. Then you have to choose the size, from a quarter to a full pound. Then finally the cheese and additional toppings like bacon. I ordered the kids grilled cheese with fries for my little and I got a quarter pound cajun elk burger with fries.My food was on my table in about 7 minutes and we were digging in. The grilled cheese was not what we expected. Instead of being a traditional grilled cheese, it was two small grilled cheese sliders. My little did not eat them. She liked the fries though.A note about elk burger, if you get it prepared in anything higher than medium, it will be tough. The hostess told me that before I ordered it and I was cool with that. My meal was ok. Not the best that I have had, but I have definitely had much worse.The staff here was 100% awesome. They were very friendly helpful and willing to help. They really made my experience very enjoyable. Cudos to them.This restaurant has exotic burgers, hot dogs, and ice cream. What more do you need. This is a place that is definitely worth some of your hard earned money.

I tried the creole burger and regular fries. They were both good! I think the fries had a little too much seasoning but still delicious. I ordered my burger medium and it was more medium well but that's not bad. Service was awesome! Our waitress gave us good recs as it was our first time. Ambiance is chill. Wasn't loud but it is kind of dim in there and it was a pretty sunny day.

She's BIG and she's UGLY! The 1lb cheeseburger from Bubs was absolutely delicious. Super juicy beef and a buttery toasted bun. Swing by Zionsville or Carmel and see if you have what it takes to finish this Big Ugly burger!

Service was good . The food tasted great as well. The bbq was amazing not manny places have good tasting original bbq sauce.

Got sat by host and waited 20 minutes and no server came and all 4 servers stood there watching the game and the manager didn't even say anything this is unacceptable and not the bubs I remember this is a shame I hope this issues gets resolved soon I would hate to not come back here but as or right now this is a disappointment
