Brookshire is a public golf course with related facilities that is operated by the City of Carmel. The 18-hole course was designed by William Diddle. We annually get golf reservations for Father's Day as a round of golf is a perfect gift and a great way to get some fresh air. But, I think the guys like the beer cart that delivers beer while out on the course.Anyway, there is a nice facility/club house that hosts weddings and other events, has a pro shop and a snack bar downstairs. The pro shop and snack bar are open to the public as well.Recently, the facility hosted area residents for the 2024 Eclipse viewing. Guests could sit on their lovely patio or bring chair to sit in the grass. The snack bar has a limited menu of sandwiches and fries which are prepared fresh. The staff is super friendly and banters with the regulars. There are tv monitors in the eating area and about six tables. You can also take your food outside and eat on the patio and watch the golfers.I had the chicken club wrap which is served warm and is very good. the sandwich was filled with bite-size pieces of chicken, tomatoes and lots of onions. I like onions but if you don't you may want them to hold the onions. The fries are ok. Very hot, but not crispy as I like. The fries are over salted for my taste. The burgers are good served with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. The kids enjoyed their hot dogs. They have a good selection of beer and the prices are really reasonable. This is a great facility that many people do not know is open to the public.

If you like playing narrow fairways, this is the course for you. We played here on a busy Saturday afternoon. We had golf balls flying into our space almost every hole.We were told our carts were cleaned and sanitized, but they were not. Wrappers and spills were all over our cart. Fortunately I always bring my own disinfecting wipes.Lots of scrub and plantings to lose your ball in. The course could use some grooming. This course is owned by the city of Carmel. It would seem they should want to make a better impression .

Nice corse but the club house closes before 8:30 (summer weekend time) so make you don't have to use the bathroom after playing 18.

For full transparency this is my home club and my 5 star rating for golf courses is for Pine Valleys Pinehursts and other type courses I've played. That being said this course is such a great value. It's in great condition and the staff is the best. They are friendly and accommodating to the customers. It's not the longest course you will play but it tests your game to the fullest. Great greens, fairways, tees and rough. Sand bunkers are ok but well maintained. Reasonable foot and beverage choices at good prices. Like I said before - best golf value in Hamilton County. Enjoy the round.

I typically never write a review, but felt compelled after having such a rude/sketchy interaction with the staff.I was in town visiting a buddy and went golfing here and accidentally left my $150 JBL speaker in the golf cart. Now I know this is 100% on me, but I called the next week and spoke to a women (Carol I believe) who told me that she had it (after giving the exact description). She took down my name/number and I told her my buddy would be coming next week to get it.I then called when my buddy was on his way and spoke to Rick who quickly told me he did not have it. Rick's tone right off the bat was short and bad-mannered. He even mentioned they have been having theft issues with their employees. Step one is admitting you have a problem, but how about taking some action, Rick. He then spoke to Carol and said that "they picked it up". Considering I gave my name/number to them, I don't know why they would just give it to some random person who walks in. Sounded like an excuse just get rid of me and push the blame. I were a betting man I would say Rick is jamming out to Pink Floyd right now on my speaker as he duffs golf balls into the water. Guess I will just eat the $150 and deduct it on my 2019 tax return under charitables to "Rick".Moral of the story - staff is a bunch of kleptos that think the lost and found is theirs for the taking and won't help you out.

Classic beef franks at a reasonable price. Condiments are minimum (ketchup, mustard, mayo). Good variety of beer for the course.

I went to Brookshire today and wanted to hit balls on the range. Recently, Brookshire has changed their range ball process to where they don't use tokens but rather Pin codes on slips of paper. I had a token that was in my bag and was probably a year or two old. Their current ball machine is a different model from the machine I bought the token for. I asked if I could exchange my token for a "Pin" slip and the guy said no. "It was too old." Excuse me, but I paid money for a token that they wouldn't let me redeem. Shame on you Brookshire.

Nicely maintained golf course though grass was thin and worn in spots. Greens were fast with difficult pin placements. Squeezed into a neighborhood the course has very narrow fairways which closely abut one another. Not a great layout. The ball machine at the driving range was not accepting cash which was time consuming and cumbersome for warm up and practice having to retrace steps to the pro shop.
