Britton Winery was the highlight of the Covered Bridge Festival for us. One of the owners is a descendant of J. A, Britton, the builder of half of the covered bridges in Park County. There is no surprise that the winery has a covered bridge theme, "Cross at a Walk."Terry Britton, owne, began the winery 14 years ago after retiring. He and his wife make fruit based wines and brew several beers. Terry took time to tell us about his family history and describe the winery. Terry and family finished the interior of his event center. The center has a lovely upscale vibe with a large bar and seating for over 50 guests. The surrounding grounds are immaculate and lovely.I tried a Pina Colada slushy and my husband had lager beer. I loved the Pina Colada, which was refreshing after a warm day of hiking. My husband enjoyed his beer. Prices are very reasonable and I can't wait to return.

This was a new find for us. Who knew a local winery with amazing service and great wine. The owner gave us an amazing history of his family in the area andOur wine flight featured excellent wines for us to pair. I look forward to visiting next time we visit Parke County..

What a great little new winery to discover while on our Saturday exploratory road trip of wineries and covered bridges of Parke County. First impressions...in the middle of nowhere down a random country road from Rockville....welcoming atmosphere...very comfy for couples or groups with loads of room to sit....wall art highlights the Britton family history and the covered bridge in the area built by a Britton...Tasha behind the bar was super nice and glad to have us. There is a nice fire pit and couch area in the center if you prefer to snuggle and be close to your wine mate. Open only about 8 weeks or so from this review, I have to give a shout out to the Drunk Tank Winery in Rockville for letting know of this "great little winery run by good people just down the road a bit from us" here in Rockville. "Cross at a Walk" commemorates the local bridges that do need to be handled with care as time and the elements take their toll over dozens or more like hundred+ years since their construction. I suppose this is the same motto at the Britton Winery....handle this relaxing atmosphere with care and time and simply enjoy. The wines were varied and delicious. And also like many wineries around, they have the beloved vino slushees as well, which seem to be a huge regional hit. Tasha behind the wine bar counter (also like a fourth generation Britton herself) was patient in explaining our wine options to us. You can also order cheese and crackers in which for $8 you get a brick of one of maybe ten cheese options and an entire sleeve of Ritz crackers. We went with Colby jack and Tasha sliced it up and tossed it on a paper plate. An easy, non fancy and authentic feel all around, from the brick of cheese to the nice red wine the accompanied it. This place is welcoming and upscale compared to other wineries we have visited within 50 miles of this area of the state. We really enjoyed our time and would encourage others to discover and enjoy for themselves if they are in the area. The Drunk Tank Winery was correct, this place is a great little winery run by nice people.

Discovered this little place while out for a Saturday adventure in Parke County to see the fall colors. Got the flight of whine/cider. We liked the Harvest Moon White, Strawberry, and BlackBerry Port the best and got a bottle of each. Hard Cider was also good and would be nice over ice in a frosted mug. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice decor inside and out. Prices were reasonable.

Went there yesterday and sorry we did! The wine was very average and the service was poor. The man that waited on us was rude and is obviously in the wrong business.Harry Mayle

Pros: Adorable building, clean facilities, lovely fireplace, rich history surrounding Parke County and the covered bridge history of Indiana, delicious variety of wines and ciders Cons: The "bartenders" aka owners had zero conversation with my party about their wines during our tasting... in fact we were spoken to exactly two times over the course of a very long, boring hour - once to take our tasting order and once to take our money. There were no provided palate cleansers of any kind, not even bits of crackers, so the cider at the end tasted absolutely awful following the sweet wine selections. If there were food or snack options available for purchase, we were not informed. Frankly I've done perhaps two dozen wine tastings all over country and this was the most awkward, uncomfortable hour I've ever experienced. I have certainly never been to a tasting where not a soul wants to talk to you about their own wines [confused face]. Their location is quite literally "in the middle of nowhere" (miles of gravel roads to get there) so it's obvious if folks show up for a tasting, they made an effort to seek their winery out, and didn't stumble upon it aimlessly. That effort by their potential buyers is not rewarded, and reading other Yelp reviews here I see we are not the only ones who experienced this. Yikes. Several of their wines I would have purchased but after an hour of being completely ignored neither myself nor my partner felt compelled to purchase any. Conclusion: great wines but poor experience, would not recommend and will not return

Was there today, wine is good however the "bartenders" were extremely unfriendly to the point of being rude. We bought $100 worth of wine and did a tasting. Won't go back and regretted leaving a tip.

This Winery has many good wines and a friendly face behind the bar. It's a winery that has something for everyone as my friend likes dry wines and I like sweet ones. Great experience
