Bates-Hendricks' go-to dive bar! They have such a friendly staff, street parking is free and plentiful, and a good, affordable drink selection.They are the place to be after the neighborhood street fest and they host the neighborhood holiday party with karaoke in December. They've upgraded their patio and exterior over the last year and it always seems to be crowded every time I'm there. Glad to have them in the neighborhood!

This is a great neighborhood bar in Indianapolis. Some might call it a dive bar but it's probably historic more than dive. The actual bar itself is a pre-Prohibition Brunswick bar which is beautiful.Mark and Dee were there and had a nice chat. The drinks are as low priced as it gets. Like $3 for a bottle of Yuengling. And, as is always the case in Bates-Hendricks, the locals are quite colorful. Right at last call, somebody walked in with a weed eater and sat down at the bar and there was a brief discussion about not leaving it where it might be a trip hazard.You know, it might be a dive bar after all. It's definitely got character(s).

Fantastic!!!!!!! Great drinks for a great price. Great environment. They should keep the music going even if someone does play their own tho. Just go so it's not silent in a bar kind of thing

Amazing service. The manager was very friendly and made us feel like regulars. If you are a first timer or live in the area, check this place out!!

Dee and Mark were bartending when I stopped by for the first time last Saturday. It was a little early in the night so the dimly lit bar was still a little empty but great music was playing. The service was fast and the beers were cheap too! ($10 buckets of bud light that night)As the place started to fill up I realized they were all regulars but even though I was new they welcomed me as though I was part of the family!They also have a jukebox and an electronic dart board to play and the bathrooms were very clean. Over all I will absolutely be heading back to this neighborhood bar!

Mark and his Dallas Cowboy Superfan bartender are two of the most genuine people. We ended up here by mistake-- best mistake we've ever made. The drinks were poured heavy, the company was delightful and we will definitely return for karaoke night. Thanks for starting off our night on the perfect note!!!

Ended up here on accident. Loved it. Stayed for 2 rounds. Best pour in town. Neighborhood bar vibes everyone was wonderful. Don't go here if you aren't friendly. 5 stars.

Best Neighborhood bar! I haven't ever not had a fun time here! The bartenders are amazing- especially Pam. The owner is fantastic! Super cheap drinks. A ton of fun. I highly recommend.
