Either this place has changed a lot since all the negative reviews were posted, or those people are just wrong, because Bombay Bazaar was a fantastic experience not only food-wise but also service-wise. Perhaps they have added on the restaurant section or at least expanded it recently, because they have a full dining room and waitstaff that showed none of the negative traits I saw described in other reviews. All the employees we interacted with were very attentive and genuinely interested in making our meal there a good experience, asking multiple times how everything was, chatting, etc. The food was not only excellent but also different from the options available at most Indian restaurants in the area. I think that probably owes to the fact that this place seems more Pakistani than Indian. The wall decor was of Pakistan, the menu is all halal, and they serve beef. Seems pretty Pakistani to me, I'm not a huge expert but those are just some signs on top of the fact that the nihari we ordered is considered a Pakistani national dish according to Google. I was warned as I ordered that the beef nihari is very spicy, but figured I'd be able to handle it. It does pack quite a punch, but it's definitely manageable, nothing crazy. The flavor of this dish was very distinct, the taste of the beef spread throughout the dish and the broth made a great dipping sauce for our naan and rice. I ordered a piece of roti (the one pictured that's not the garlic naan) but it looked just like naan, not sure if theirs just looks different but it definitely had a taste that wasn't the same as naan so I think it's what I got. Not complaining because it was still tasty, just not what I expected.Since my favorite South Asian place, Dhaba Indy, closed down, I've been looking for a good replacement...Biryani Hut just isn't as good, Fresh Indian Grill in Carmel is too far away and too expensive...Bombay Bazaar might just fill the void.

Visiting Indy and chose this place for takeout. I'm a huge Indian food fan, and this is the best biryani I've had in a long time, maybe ever. They were out if goat/lamb biryani so I had chicken. It had a lot of chicken - bone-in, tender and savory. So, so good and a huge portion - would easily feed 3. Also had Aloo Tikki app, which was great, served with a nice coriander (I think) chutney. And! I had the chana dal which was also great - perfectly spicy and very flavorful. Good prices for the quality and quantity. Would definitely be a regular if I lived here! They didn't appear to have dine-in - it's also an Indian grocery - but that may have just been due to COVID. I'd probably stick with takeout anyway.

The best tandoori and biryani is here at Bombay Bazaar - a hole-in-the-wall tucked behind 116th street and Allisonville intersection. Walking in, eyes lost into literally a bazaar. Rows of dry goods packed on disheveled shelves, post-it notes plastered behind the cash register, countertops covered with prepared food, halal meat sold in the back case. Don't let the appearance deter you away from how sanitary your food is. We waited for about 10 minutes to put in a food order since they were so busy. Majority of the customers were Indian/Pakistani which means the food must be authentic.Be accustomed to South east Asian/Asian customer service in general which is very little or none. It's order your food, wait, and take your food out. No time for chit chat. I found the owner very helpful and he handed us a paper take-out menu to call ahead and order next time so we don't have to wait for 30-45 minutes. We stayed on the safe side and ordered tandoori chicken and chicken biryani, went across the street to do some shopping. Upon returning, the owner was bagging up our take out. The char from the oven and spice aroma made my tummy grumble as we were driving home in the car. No utensils included. Wanted to make a dive in it with my hands but no wet naps to clean them off with. Finally home and the food didn't leak in the bag. Opened up the styrofoam boxes and it smelled so delicious. Large portion of spiced biryani rice and good amount of chicken included. It wasn't greasy or wet. Perfectly dry and fluffy. Careful with the green sauce included though, it's on the spicy side. The tandoori chicken only had drumsticks, no thighs. It was delicious paired with the raw red onion and squeeze of lime. Probably one of the better Indian places that's not a buffet I've been to. Definitely returning to try something else new!

This little gem is neatly located in a strip plaza near my home and I have been passing it for years. Several weeks ago I visited their website and decided that I wanted to try their rice, the first order of rice was chicken biryani which was very delicious followed by three more orders, separate of course, of the Lamb / goat Biryani rice. It's simply fantastic and I cannot wait to try their Buffet.

The food was average at best. The tikka masala had very little chicken in it. The chicken korma was awful- the chicken had bones and the sauce was a dark brown - nothing like the korma I have had at other restaurants. We threw it away with the kabobs that were terrible. The naan bread was good. Big disappointment

One of the worst experiences I've ever had. I ordered my food online and came to pick it up. It was outrageous. I kept asking if the price was correct and if they got my order right. I listed out what I ordered and he kept acting like he didn't understand me and that it was correct. I got home and it was not what I ordered at all. It was two servings of fried tofu that they charged me $15 dollars for each and a rice and chicken dish I didn't order. I ordered chicken tikka masala, naan, and a vegetable samosa appetizer. I'm almost positive I was scammed on the pricing.Would not recommend

Delicious food, real authentic Pakistani cuisine. Only four stars because they messed up one dish but gave us a credit to come next time and receive better choice. Thanks

This place was one of the worst places I have ever been to. First off everywhere was dirty and sticky. The food was stacked in front of the bathroom on the floor. And the bathroom was disgusting there were no joke, dead cockroaches on the floor and pee all over. We ended up just leaving after seeing it.

Currently delivery/carry-out only; can order on Uber Eats.Short version- outstanding Pakistani/North Indian food. Best I've had in this region by far. Worth the trip/delivery fee.Long version:Samosa- best samosa I've had in years. Somehow had a really thin and crispy shell while containing a robust and well flavored filling. Terrific!Samosa chaat- an authentic appetizer with samosa filling topped with several chutneys and some chaat on top. DeliciousMalai kofta - came out piping hot and fresh, with robust kofta that somehow weren't dense but held up to the flavorful sauce.Beef nihari- the beef itself wasn't exciting or particularly tender, but the sauce...oh this is the sauce of kings. Incredibly flavorful, rich, complex...this sauce can make even mediocre beef a sublime experience. These are the flavors that make food worth eating.Naan- decent naan, seemed relatively fresh. Good stuff.

The service is going down after they changed the ownership. I used to go there for barbecue meat. The previous owner was always friendly and tried to provide the meat that I asked for. Not with the new owner. One time, I placed phone order and was told the order would be ready about 30 minutes. I showed up after 30 minutes. The current owner asked me to wait and went back to check. And when he returned, he started greeting and chatting with other people came in after me with their language. After standing there for another 20 minutes, I interrupted their conversation and was told I had to wait another 20 minutes. I was not happy, and left. Another time, I called to place 2 lbs of lamb leg meat with bone and meat separated, and the owner said they cannot do that because the meat if frozen! If I need a piece of frozen meat, I could go to markets. I would not come back again!
