Bocca is a wonderful place in a quiet neighborhood with an amazing vibe all around. The interior is all black with the only color being the lighting. Its very moody and kind of seductive. I wish they had some high backed velvet booths in black to really amp things up. But I digress.Service was professional, but not cloying, which i appreciated. They had some kind of special going on when I was there so I took advantage. It was 4 courses and you chose the dishes you wanted. I went with:1st course: Arancini: crispy truffle risotto, parmesan, truffle cream, basil 2nd course: Ceci Chopped: romaine, cherry tomatoes, provolone, salami, red onion, artichoke, crispy chickpeas, red wine vinaigrette 3rd course: Della Casa: Calamarata, shrimp, spicy creamy tomato, lobster butter, basil 4th course: Tiramisu: Mascarpone, rum, cocoa, coffeeEverything was perfectly plated and spectacular. I would definitely come back.

In two weeks I've now been here 3 times and sat at the bar. The food is excellent. The service is immaculate. The noise is low and lights are relaxed. Over my visits I've gotten the Basil gimlet with gin, old fashioned, and a generous 6-oz. pour of Canernet. For appetizers, I've gotten the calamari each time. It's incredible. We've also gotten the goat cheese and farro salad. Highly recommend both, texture and flavors are very balanced and special. For entree, the pasta pomodoro is spicy and full bodied. The bistecca filet is perfect and the sides are delicious. Lastly the tiramisu is light and fluffy. The bartenders are all nice and make the experience a treat.

Bocca is hands down one of my favorite Italian spots in Indy. It's got a cozy, intimate vibe that's perfect for date night, and the food is yummy. Their bolognese is my absolute favorite -- rich, flavorful, and just so good. If you're looking for a spot that feels a little special but still super welcoming, this is it.

Really enjoyed our time at Bocca. The atmosphere was the perfect mood for a date on a Friday night - with dark walls and dim lights. We started with the goat cheese app - which was full of flavor and rich. I had the bolognese, which was very hearty. My husband had the gnocchi gorgonzola, which was really good if you like gorgonzola (it was a tad too overpowering for me). We finished with the pistachio ricotta which was not overly sweet, but hit the spot. We will definitely be back.

While visiting Indianapolis, my friends, Lynn and Mark, took me to their favorite restaurant a few blocks from their home, Bocca. This is the second time I've been here and both times were exceptional. This time, we sat outside in their spacious patio setting. Our server, David, was polite, friendly and attentive. We started off with two appetizers, calamari and mussels. The calamari had an excellent lemon aioli dressing (very tasty!) and a marinara dressing on the side to complement the perfectly cooked calamari. The mussels were outstanding, served with a chili broth that was mouthwatering. My friends said dipping the bread in the sauce was almost an appetizer in itself. David, our server, concurred and brought us extra bread (twice!) so we could sop up the richness of the broth. I would come back just for this broth! For our main entrees, my friends selected the Spaghetti Pomodoro (and added meatballs) and the Pollo Di Zio, a chicken breast stuffed with salami, prosciutto, spinach and mozzarella. I ordered the wild mushroom-stuffed Ravioli, which included ricotta, spinach and truffle cream, with braised button mushrooms on top. The presentation was a sight to behold and the taste, perfection! We all had a great night here and I can see why it is my friends' favorite place. And, now mine, too. I look forward to my next visit to Indianapolis, with this restaurant gem being at the top of my list!

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Always enjoy my meals here and never walk out disgustingly full even though its Italian. The ambiance for the patio especially with live music is magical and right on 22nd Street. The bar seating never disappoints when its cold out and you can always wander downstairs to the speakeasy. Food always feels freshly prepared and cooked with love. Between Gather and Bocca, 22nd Street is my favorite neighborhood eating corridor in Indy.

Food: Amazing! Mussels and the broth were so savory! It's best to dip your bread in it. They were a little small but maybe they aren't in season. That baked goat cheese is my favorite! Soo flavorful. Lastly, that pasta was magic! Fine spice. Good size shrimp. Creamy and savory tomato sauce.Service: So good! Only book here if you have at least 2 hours. It took time to order everything and get it to the table. Hospitable staff.Ambiance: It's stunning in here. Love the decor. It's smaller/more intimate inside than initially expected.

The parking is available in a lot across the street. The lot in the back will likely be full and you will need to walk around the building anyway. We stopped in for a dinner date and had a lovely experience. The hostess was open to my request for another table (they sat us at a tiny two-seater next to a high traffic area). We were then sat at a lovely table next to the window. The waitress was knowledgeable and friendly, doing a good job without constantly interrupting the meal. Our food was delish! So was desert. The atmosphere was nice, the bar looked really cool and the speakeasy downstairs was a nice secret meeting location or a hidden spot for a drink.Accessibility: the main entrance off the sidewalk has a step that may impede a wheelchair. But I did see someone in a nice powered wheelchair setup eating. So while I did not see how he got in, there may be a second entrance. Either way they were able to accommodate this individual. The restrooms upstairs had Manila doors but seemed to be accessible (see pics). The speakeasy downstairs did not see to be handicap accessible at all. Having stairs for access and no accommodations in the restroom downstairsThe noise level was ok, not terrible. They has acoustic tiles on the ceiling in places.Lastly, the AC seems to be provided by window units in at least part of the building. Consider this when being sat. I had an AC unit blowing right on me the whole time. Could be good, could be bad lolI say give Bocca a visit, and bring a friend to discover the Speak Easy downstairs.
