Blackbird Nest

I went to the Blackbird Nest in Franklin, Indiana as part of the annual holiday shopping weekend event Franklin has every year. During this event there are participating shops and you are given a card to have stamped at each vendor and then you are entered in a drawing for gift baskets and cards once you have visited 10 shops. This shop has very nice decor items and furniture. They also had some clothing. I did not buy anything from this shop this time but I will still make a future visit to see what new items they come up with.

I was dropping off a friend in Franklin and had some time to kill. What better way to spend than checking out 4 of the cute shops on Jefferson Street. There is public and street parking close to Blackbird Nest and the other shops I wanted to visit.As I entered Blackbird Nest I received a pleasant greeting. The Blackbird Nest specializes in redesigned modern, antique and vintage furniture along with home decor, lamps, new clothing, bath and body products, prints, florals and wreaths plus holiday decor.The shop has several smaller rooms with various items incorporated throughout but items are organized well and prices are clearly marked. I liked seeing furniture, clothing, home and holiday decor all tastefully arranged together in each space. The store has a few narrow isleway's but most are spacious enough to browse comfortably down. They do have a dressing room to try on clothing you are interested in.If you're in Franklin make time to visit Blackbird Nest. Terrific location for gifts, clothing and unique furniture.

On the east end of downtown Franklin, there is a tastefully arranged home for re-purposed items. The shop is a converted house that makes use of just about every available nook and cranny to display their wares. I really thought the arrangements looked planned instead of just thrown together as in some similar type shops I have visited. Although I didn't make a purchase during my visit, I did see a lot of items that caught my eye and I will keep this shop in mind the next time I am looking.Review #1000

Wow! This store blew me away - it's not like any other Vintage/Home Decor store around. Their high-quality furniture, unique home decor items and the craftsmanship from their local artisan partners is astounding and unlike anything I've seen before. I highly recommend visiting the Blackbird Nest. You'll enjoy the refreshing service, products and experience!

By far, the most beautiful furniture gallery in Franklin! Your staging of furniture pieces and accessories shows a unique talent.Everything is completely coordinated in both style and color-way....not the hodge-podge that is so evident in the other similar shops in town.Anyone can tell immediately that you and your staff truly care about how your customers perceive your business. You are the true professionals of the painted furniture business!

A wonderful shop in the heart of Franklin with a public parking lot right across the street.The owner Shannon specializes in Annie Sloan paints and instructs classes occasionally to show how simple it is to use. She has all of the paints available for purchase.Lot's of stuff to be had here, love browsing through the vintage, handmade to the beautiful painted furniture she has.The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.A shop definitely worth checking out!!

We were told to check this out. Now I'm telling you. This was the best stop by far in Franklin. A new store apparently, and we stopped by on a Saturday afternoon after already stopping at many others. The furniture is repainted in stunning quality and detail and sells for $100 - $250ish. I wanted to buy it all except I don't have room. I will be back, though. There is much here for the home besides furniture. The owner (or consigner's) sense of style is wonderful. Highly recommend!
