My mom and I stopped at Black Dog on our way back from a camping trip and I will never forget this place. Located in Logansport, this cafe has everything you'd need from amazing drink and food options, to arts and crafts made by local artists. The atmosphere was so welcoming and my coffee was spot-on. You NEED to stop by!

Small Town wonder with plenty of home spun store vibes, fun combination of coffee and trinket dive, and huge menu sprawled all over the walls and counter with silly names needing explained. After asking what was in what for nearly five minutes, I clapped sight of a cherry cream foam chocolate cherry latte that would have my name on it. By friend went basic with the iced white mocha, felt a bit bad I didn't motivate going for the mocha cherry since his didn't have much going on, bummer when the syrups are from a plastic pump. However mine was outstanding thanks to the fresh made foam and amazing trick of fruity coffee goodness. Good to see value here too, easy parking, decent hours, and very friendly easy going staff, a must try!

What a pleasant 'hidden' surprise! Because I saw their facebook photo post and info on one of their super coffees, I decided to enjoy the beautiful Saturday and head to Logansport. I was NOT disappointed! Their coffee selection was huge and their Saturday hot, sweet cinnamon roll was perfect. Weekend evenings they have live music; and on weekdays, lunches. Most importantly, however, was their unusual eclectic seating 'hidden' inside a bland, unassuming store facade. My instant thought was 'wow, this could be anywhere, any city, any state and here it is tucked in an old district of a small Indiana town! Such a pleasure to take my coffee & roll to seat anywhere in any area with fun decor. After I finished, I shopped the adjoining gift shop, stocked with tasteful, current items crafted by local artists. I bought a glass beaded necklace with a 'steam-punk' owl ( $25) and interesting Steven King novels decorated with Halloween ribbons, spiders etc ( $15 each) .The staff was extra friendly and added to the small town charm. Children were gifted with free , colorful polished stones and had a choice of uncracked geodes for $1. Customers walking their dogs were welcomed. The shop will be a perfect place to shop for fun, unique Christmas..and birthday etc gifts. You bet I'll return! I RETURNED... yesterday, Saturday afternoon, 11/16/19 for warm, frothy cozy chi and purchased another necklace ; this a pretty quartz. And a carved soapstone bird.. fun visit & lovely people!!

We were in town visiting family and friends for a few days while staying on Banker's Row. Stopped by for a coffee and stroll through the shop área. Loved the friendliness and comfortable feeling. Ended up enjoying a different iced coffee every morning for three mornings. Loved the iced caramel macchiato and the iced butter beer latte! Picked up a couple of candles from local artisans as well as a pretty necklace and some beeswax lip balm. This would've my go to place to hang out, meet with friends and simply relax if I lived here.

We stumbled across this place a few weeks ago while in town for dinner. Today we finally decided to come back to give it a try. WHAT A LOVELY SURPRISE. I could spend all day in this place! It's a coffee shop, meets local artist shop, mixed with a library. I mean, they truly have everything! We shopped around while waiting on our coffee and while we drank it. Everything was hand made by local artists (soaps, blankets, portraits, pottery etc!) It's a great place for people to sit and converse or get some studying/work done. The staff there was absolutely delightful! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Last but not least, the coffee was WONDERFUL!! We got an americano and an iced dirty black dog with half the sweetener. (Dirty vanilla chia latte) the dirty black dog was still quite sweet for me even with only half the sweeter but it was still so creamy and good! You could tell it was a quality latte. 10/10 will be coming back here any time I get the chance. Both the atmosphere and coffee are with every bit of the trip!

My wife visits Black Dog more often than I do, and she says it can be hit or miss. We recently stopped by and ordered some food--my wife enjoyed the croissant sandwich she got, but my avocado toast was just okay. The bread was a little soggy, which was a bit disappointing. The service was decent, nothing to write home about, but the staff was friendly enough. What really stands out about this place is the ambiance and all the extra events they offer. It has a cool atmosphere that makes it a nice spot to hang out, even if the food isn't always memorable. Prices are reasonable, making it a good option if you're looking for a unique local spot.
