Started inquiring about the space through the website. Emailed requested some information and also to verify that the staff we'd be working with were queer friendly. Did not receive a response back despite received an email from Anthony and Corbin about booking the space, no questions that were asked in the email was answered. If they cannot even respond to an email to coordinate a viewing, answering questions, or communicate between each other; it doesn't make me feel that that are capable of organizing the wedding I am wanting.

Great venue! Lots of parking, great view of our beautiful city! Easy to get to. Beautiful building with two outdoor patios inside has plenty of room for dancing and partying. Great vibe. I can't wait for another event here.

It was nice a bit over priced for a venue, the one I attended people kept walking in on the wedding an reception because they was attending an event in another part of the bldg but didn't have marked properly that was VERY annoying But could have been the time of year an such just my personal option of being a little pricey

I've been to many of weddings and events here including Yelp's Big Fat Fake Wedding and Indy VegFest. Each time, the space is perfect and I love how there is so much parking. There's a small parking lot in front and a big parking lot in the back, but they also let you park on the lawn across from the venue if needed. Wherever you park, you'll be close to the venue. Yay!You can rent out different spaces within the Biltwell: the entire thing, the big, northern portion, or the smaller southern portion, depending on your party size. I went to a wedding on the smaller half and the bride got married upstairs, had the party downstairs, and then had the big back patio open for guests. The patio was wonderful and had twinkle lights and was huge. It was great to be able to get some fresh air and be able to pause from dancing to have some conversation with friends. This venue is close to the downtown and is just a few minutes west on the highway. The surrounding area is industrial and still developing, but most people will remain at the venue anyways or be able to catch a cheap Uber to continue festivities downtown.

I was here for a work event that was held on the lower level. The space is nice, and we liked that it was lit with strings of patio lights, but something strange was going on with the power as all the lights started flickering for awhile and they had to do something to correct this, but they were eventually able to get it to stop. The view from the patio is of an industrial area, so that's one downside...I don't know if they've considered planting some trees or maybe putting in some trellises with greenery or something like that so there would be a nicer view than dirt, machinery and the highway. The food, which was assorted appetizers, was good, but one odd thing was that they had cheese including a cheese torte with pesto and sundried tomatoes which was tasty, but no crackers or anything to put it on, so we just ate it with a fork. Parking was easy for our smallish event and the drive from downtown was easy with a navigation app running, but would have been tricky without that.

We had a very mixed experience for our wedding. The venue is gorgeous and everyone complimented just how beautiful everything was. However, we had a lot of issues with the staff. The main problem we had was when we paid them. There was a high credit card fee, so we opted to send in a check. The staff at the Biltwell called to give confirmation that they had received our check in the mail, then a couple days later called back saying the bank had lost our check for tens of thousands of dollars. This was DAYS before the wedding. We ended up giving them another check the morning of the wedding, and the owner confessed that they had lost the check, not the bank. This was incredibly unprofessional and concerning for us. One other incident with staff included their coordinator emailing me to inform me that my wedding planner did not respond to their email, less than two hours after sending them the original email. The coordinator changed twice from the time I booked my wedding to my actual wedding date. I was never informed of the changes in staff, so my emails would go unanswered for months until someone would finally reply and let me know the new email to send questions and requests. The staff would make lots of empty promises as well. One such example was promising that they could have lamb at our wedding. We said that it was culturally significant to my now husband, and they promised they could do it. This was one of the reasons we chose them as a venue. Then, at our tasting, only a couple months before the wedding, they said there was no way they could make lamb for us, as it would be too difficult for them. If we had known that, we would not have used them as a vendor, and had made that very clear from the start.

Mother of the bride here. My daughter was recently married at the Biltwell. BTW, I've never posted a review on Yelp (good or bad) but felt I needed to now - based on our experience. The facility is very nice but also very pricey - multiple thousands of dollars for administrative fees in addition to the charge to use the facility and, of course, the food. My husband and I were willing to pay their prices assuming that our daughter would have a nice wedding. Sad to say this did not happen. On the morning of the wedding our daughter's wedding coordinator was fired. Rumor has it that Taki fires employees to avoid paying them.First, the supposed "new coordinator " never introduced herself to us, bride, groom, wedding party until the end of the evening. She did not know what we looked like. This would cause issues later on.Second, sound system was awful because Taki would not let the DJ set up where our original coordinator suggested - hooked into the Biltwell's.As a result of this, we never heard any announcement about the bride and groom's first dance. My husband and I both missed it and THERE CAN BE NO DO-OVER. I've seen several favorable reviews on Yelp about the Biltwell and can only assume that your coordinators were not fired on the day of your event.Total disappointment with the Biltwell and Taki, the owner.
