I'll start by saying it was worth the money. The hotdog and brats were very reasonably priced and, as you can see, they're not tiny! The brat was very good and bursted with flavor, especially when combined with some mustard and chopped onions. Hotdog... a little less so. It didn't have a lot of flavor, but definitely did its job!Condiments were as you would expect with the classics - packets of ketchup, mustard, mayo and relish, then a little dish of chopped onions. Personally, I'd love to see some brown mustard for the brats and maybe some banana peppers or extras to really spice up the bite break on the bend. The course itself was delightful with beautiful scenery, like the pictured deer family towards the latter end of the course. Only sad part was that the course was quite challenging for my level of expertise (not great), but that's entirely on me and not the wonder that is Bear Slide!

Pretty course, challenging and lots of fun! No GPS, bathrooms, water on course or cart girl. Would definitely play again.

Leg 2 of the 54 July 4th trip - an extremely nice and well maintained course in Cicero. The front 9 has more of a links feel to it while the back 9 has more woods and other terrain features. The greens were very challenging and differed in size (some smaller ones). Loved the course as much as Purgatory from a layout and playability standpoint. No GPS available in the carts but there was a yardage booklet with pin placement. Slowed us up a bit looking for sprinkler heads. Helped our playing partners were regulars here so knowing where to hit was beneficial.Major downer was the guy working the counter; what a jackass. I'm still mystified how much attitude you get from some people (not all) at golf courses as you plunk down a wad of cash for the "privilege" of playing there. As if they would only smile if Phil Mickelson walked in the door. Sorry to disappoint you pal...it's just me. I don't need my ego stroked but a simple smile and thank you (of which I received neither) would go a long way. Thankfully the woman working snack bar was extremely nice.I would play here again, but would rather play Purgatory where they seem to appreciate my business more and the golf feels comparable.

One of the best courses we've ever played. The ranger that was out was so kind to us, as it was the first time we played the course. It is so incredibly challenging and beautiful. Very well maintained course and fast greens. We can't wait to play it again! Definitely worth all the hype we've heard from friends. Also, the hotdogs in the clubhouse slap. Lol.

mans-club...We were " welcomed by "are any of you ladies golfers?" The staff followed us hole to hole to make sure us "ladies " weren't "holding up" the holes. it was a very passive aggressive experience for a group of 6 ladies. Very disappointing. Treat women better...

The conditions have been less impressive in recent years, and while it doesn't compare to Rock Hollow, the layout is very strong. Holes 10, 15 and 16 are all among the top holes in the state, and probably two-thirds of all the other holes are in the "good" or "very good" category. (P.S. Holes 5 and 14 most certainly do NOT appear in either of those complementary categories)

OK - Indy area golf.Prairie ViewRock HollowTrophy ClubFort BenBear SlidePurgatoryHeartland CrossingBrickyardall great golf coursesMy view - PV and Purg are tops - barely the others are fine courses. Played them all.Private club access - play the Stick. Then Bridgewater and Hawthornes. Want the old style of golf - Meridian Hills, Highland etc.....I would group TC, FB and BS together = HC is close behind.BY is cool - cars working on track most visits - too expensive - too wet.
