Oh, there were several reasons we were raving about our experience at this cozy Greenwood bar. A few of them being...1.) the atmosphere. This bar screams "crawl inside me, throw off your coat and stay awhile". The low lighting, exposed brick, local clientele and fun menu top it all off. 2.) For my fellow smokey cocktail drinkers: I recommend the Mexican Sunrise with grapefruit juice, Mezcal and a kick off spice. Note: they also have a decent selection of bourbons and local beer on tap and by the can.3.) I can't stop thinking about the homemade ricotta bacon jam with sliced baguette. All thoughts of eating healthy were swept aside when this dish rolled out. "Healthy who?" 4.) I'm always advocating that beets could use more representation on menus (besides in salads...). If you're a fellow beet advocate, I'd give the pickled beets with whipped goat cheese and sliced almonds a try.5.) Order the root veggies with browned butter and chimichurri - you can thank me later.6.) The fact that Bar Rev is tucked in the back of Revery gives it this mysterious, secret club kind of vibe. Good news is, they allow newbies from Indy access ;) 7.) As for the classic question of parking. Easy peasy. You can find it in their private lot behind the bar or across the street in the bank lot during off hours.

This used to be our go to spot after the little league baseball games, tonight was a disappointment. WWE on the TV with the bartender more interested in WWE than serving her diners. When we sat down the gentlemen next to us was cashing out and said " That's why I'm not ordering a second one" and pointed to the tv. We asked for the Cubs game to be played, common for us when we visit with the "W" flying in the window but apparently tonight they don't carry it. That happens. It's hard to have every package to play every game. We could not listen to the screeching of the drama on the tv. I have never watched a game there and listened to it, there has always been background music playing. The atmosphere was a turn off for dinner. We cancelled our order. We will call before we come back.

So, I should have written this earlier in the year, or last year, but I kept giving them another chance. All out of F's as of tonight. This is the second time we have walked out due to lack of service, or just general indifference by the staff. Our waiter wiped down the table gave us menus then brought us water and said he'd be back. I don't know what kind of training they get here but letting us wait for 22 min before I had to get up and go to the bar to tell our "waiter" we were ready to order... he acknowledged me, nodded his head and proceeded to turn his back, lean against the bar and get back on his cell phone. That was it, we left. A similar episode occurred this past spring. I have been disappointed in this place for over a year. I guess they think they have a captive audience in Greenwood, but they are mistaken. This was our last attempt. Unfortunately this was our 28th anniversary and we would have loved to have had a great meal and a few drinks, but instead we were ignored. So, good luck, eventually you will run out of new customers, and I hope anyone reading this will take heed! The price is not worth the lousy experience! Do yourself a favor, Don't bother.

Bar Rev is a cute and quaint place in the back of The Revery. There's not a ton of seating but they have both indoor and outdoor (weather permitting) and the outdoor is my favorite! The service is great and the food options are great. We have had enjoyed date night and time out with friends and not been disappointed. They serve local beer and have a great selection of mixed drinks and wine. Looking for a local dive to enjoy time away? Check this place out!

This was not my first rodeo at Bar Rev. I've been a couple times now. We visited on a Sunday evening and sat at the bar. It was so nice and quiet. I wonder how long till word gets out that this place is a gem. We ordered the cheeseburger for $11 and the BLT for $8 and they come with fries. Now don't judge, but I'm a bacon snob. You guys, this was the best BLT and that price! Awesome portion sizes too. The cheeseburger was delicious and cooked perfectly. Now the drinks.... The bartender Adam whipped up an amazing gin drink and my Negroni was refreshing and delicious. They also have a deal where you get a beer and shot for $6. I took advantage of 'the hipster'. It's a shot of Fernet and Brooklyn Lager. Love this place. I can't wait to sit outside on their new patio.

A cool, classy place. We've been twice now. Exposed brick walls, in a very old building. A place to choose a quality alcohol and talk with friends, not bud lite in plastic cups while watching a big screen. The food is from the Revery kitchen, so- it's good stuff. Great service, and the bar manager makes sure you're taken care of.

We love this place, the food and drinks are 5 star but one of the seasoned male bartenders was a little dismissive of us the first time we were in back in December and sat at the bar. Food was amazing so we chalked it up to "bad night" or "short staffing" and decided to go back to this quaint little gem! We met our friends there and they had arrived 10 min early and us 10 min late...come to find out they were never offered a drink in 20 min. As soon as we arrived I saw our waiter was the same bartender we had the last time and my friend told us they weren't offered a drink but were yelled at by him for moving a table to make space for 4. Our night played out worse with him this time over last! Food, drink AND service were definitely 5 star again but he continued to be rude and dismissive. The last straw was our check. He asked how we would like the check split and we indicated per couple. We had shared the mussels and the bruschetta...and my friend (other couple and I) had split a sandwich and the Brussels sprouts. We would no way expect for those to be split to the penny but not even close to that was ever attempted! We got out checks and ALL apps, the sandwich and spouts were on our friends bill. There bill was $110 and ours was less than $60. We decided it wasn't worth dispute it and took care of it ourselves. My friend even called him over to say "I don't want you to think we are stiffing you by not including a tip, but my friends are going to put the tip on their bill since we got everything on our bill" instead of sorry, can I fix that?...he just grunted "that's fine" and walked away. I am not sure if the fact that my friends were a mixed race couple had anything to do with how we were treated or if he's simply burned out. He is an amazing bartender but I hope he realizes how little he enjoys customer service and "customers" before I visit there again.

Fantastic! Showed up after Easter Mass and had an incredible brunch. My dad and I both ordered the Pork Belly Benedict, and I'm already looking forward to going back for that. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy with hash browns, and he had nothing but wonderful things to say about it. My mother ordered an omelette that she was very pleased with. We shared the ricotta and jam appetizer. Overall food was outstanding; and the price was incredible for the quality as well as the portions, which were just right. Oh and the Bloody Mary's were delicious as well. Our server was very good and sweet - the kind who would please any group. She could have known the menu a little bit better, but overall knowledgable. The space was so cool and fit the experience wonderfully. We can't wait to go back!
