Bar Bosco is definitely the best restaurant in Terre haute. They've nailed the ambiance and the inside is moody and decorated eclectic and sophisticated. Every time I've been, it's busy and seems like the place to go to grab a nice drink and catch up over great food. I've had pizza and pasta here - both were fantastic. The pizza is a fresh doughy thinner crust, brick oven I believe. The pasta is also homemade and comes out in a large portion. I had the SPAGHETTI GAMBERI FRA DIABOLO this time and it was delicious! The shrimp are butterflied which just looks cute and fancy and the red sauce it comes in is super flavorful with tomato chunks. I'd recommend it and get it again. For drinks, they have a solid wine and cocktail menu. I had the Italian margarita and loved it. The only thing I don't like about Bar Bosco is the parking. It's in a stand alone building on a neighborhood intersection so there isn't really a parking lot. You just park along the street. On a busy night though, you have to park back in the neighborhoods which can be a little rough and don't look the safest. Other than that, love this place!

We went today, Wednesday approx 6pm, and sat at the bar, plenty of room and comfort.. Julia was our main bartender and did an outstanding job. The 3 of us had several drinks and shared food for all to sample. We had a great time testing the following items. For drinks we had Iced teas to start out our samplings. Light cool, and refreshing. Then we started ordering food to split. First - a meatball that others in yelp recommended. 3 thumbs up! A bread basket with a ramekins of soft butter and of tomato/pepper paste. Delicious! Goes well with the meatball. Moving along with menu temptations we paired the pear raviolis in creamy cheesy sauce including asparagus with limoncello shots. Totally recommend this dish too. Used the bread to soak up the extra sauce. Yummy! Time to get more tea for two of us and a few special drinks to try...we tasted a French 75 - a lovely peachy color with a tangy drink topped with champagne and Lavender Mafia. Both were soooo gooood! And then another foodie item, the lasagna that others in yelp said to try. It's a huge serving that was wonderfully filling and was an Italian favorite for many.If I had to choose an improvement for this upscale eatery/bar it would be to install purse hangers under the bar lip for their patrons bags.Bon Appetit!

Ambience was pleasant and our group really liked the aesthetics in the first 2 rooms. However, for some reason, we were seated to the last room with the Pizza Maker (maybe for those without reservations?). Regardless of not having reservations, we waited for 15 minutes for service on water. Had we known that was the start of the wait, we would've just ordered all at once our drinks, apps/main/dinner. We spent a total of almost 2.5 hours at the restaurant. 30 minutes of that spent eating. What was odd, we had ordered before a table, but they were able to get their food slightly faster. The food was great and hot. I know it's all "homemade", but theoretically it shouldn't take an 1hr and 45 minutes to have our mains made. I had the tiramisu, which was great until I bit into some hard, uncooked pasta or rice bits that were in the ladyfingers. But with the portioning of the food (huge by the way) this was no where near that caliber. So it was a bit disappointing to see when it came out. Also, just a side, the GM, or owner didn't really address himself at the table. He lurked eerily close to one of our group members and just looked as they ate. No greet. It wasn't until I said hi, he said thank you for coming in and walked away real fast. Maybe it was just an off night. But I really did see so much potential to enjoy, but didn't get the experience.

We visited this gem while staying overnight at the new hotel casino in Terre Haute. From the moment we walked in Bar Bosco, I knew this was my type of restaurant. Loved the decor, industrial historic style and beautiful furniture. Our server said that a lot of the antiques came from Italy. We started with fresh ice tea (so good). We always order shrimp cocktail anytime it's on the menu. This one did not disappoint. The meal came with complementary bread with a tomato dipping sauce, so delicious! A must try!! I had lasagna and it was made fresh in house. Very good. My boyfriend had the SPAGHETTI GAMBERI FRA DIAVOLO and he said it was really good. For dessert, we shared the Limoncello cheesecake. It was really good. There was a large party next to us and they had charcuterie boards as appetizers. We definitely will have to order one of those next trip to Bar Bosco. Overall, a lovely dinner on our mini trip to Terre Haute!

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our first visit to this place! We were welcomed warmly as soon as we entered, and had a great conversation with the staff. They spoke highly of our bartender, Reed, and they were right - he makes amazing cocktails! I tried the Pomegranate Limoncello Martini and it was absolutely phenomenal, the best cocktail I've had in Terre Haute, hands down. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his Bloody Mary, especially with the spicy rim - a nice touch! We also shared the House Meatball, which was so delicious that we even considered cancelling our dinner reservations. I highly recommend everyone within a 50-mile radius to check out this spot!

Such a neat spot. The second we walked in we were greeted by staff with energy which matched the magnificent bar stock full of great bourbons. The cocktail menu choices matched the vibes of the place. Dinner choices were fantastic as well. We decided on the gnocchi which was pan fried bringing a great texture to match the meat sauce. The meatball was delightful and full of flavor. It was a perfect size to share. Along with these dishes we split the Caprese which was not the standard we were accustomed to instead it was a large fresh m mozzarella ball accompany by miniature roasted tomatoes with oil and a balsamic vinaigrette.

Every year we travel from our home in Massachusetts to our condo in Colorado. Terre Haute has become a destination stop over BECAUSE of Bar Bosco. The Italian cuisine is superb and authentic (we still think so after our sojourn through Italy). The service has always been friendly, efficient (not overbearing) and just right. It is the ambience, however, that makes everything so special. From the hostess, to the wait staff, to the bar staff, owners and chefs...everyone makes you feel welcome. The bar and dining areas are beautiful. Personally, after 3 visits on our cross-country travels we would rate the establishment a 7 out of 5!

Literally our first night in Terre Haute and we found this little gem. Super welcoming staff as we arrived (without reservation) and even though the place was hopping they we determined to find us a place to sit. We ended up on the back patio and it was a perfect evening for it!This is not a place to go if you are in a rush. The service is measured, but you will not have a waiter hovering over your table. Perfect for a relaxed evening of conversation and dining. Salads were great, I had the lasagna and my wife had a pizza and then the gelato to close the evening off. Wonderful, relaxed atmosphere and food. We will certainly be back!
