I was in town for a sporting event and all of our standard hotels were completely full (i.e. Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn Express). A parent booked rooms at the student center hotel and I had no idea this existed. It was spring break so the area was extremely bare. We were the only 3 rooms booked in the 24 room hotel so it was nice and quiet. Why the 3 stars? Based on the pictures, it looks like they've done a few updates. The inside of the room looked fine. We ended up in a handicapped accessible room and was told it was bigger. I'll be honest, aside from the bathroom, I can't imagine the room area being any smaller. The bed was so uncomfortable! The tv is super old school and the size you'd typically see in your great grandparents sitting room. There is no pool or fitness center so keep that in mind when looking for amenities. There's a vending machine, but since it was spring break, nothing else was open. Staff were very friendly and subsequently very timely sending a hotel receipt since we didn't do registration desk checkout. The rate is extremely reasonable so this would be a great option for a group that wanted to be all together. Would I come back? Yes, I would.

What an amazing find! I didn't know this hotel existed until I checked Yelp! All the other hotels in the area were booked on the weekend we needed and I came upon this one with availability! The rooms are very nice and everything I expected based on other reviews and pictures. The hotel is located in the Student Union, which had a late night activity going on - the only reason for a 4-star and not a 5-star is because in the middle of the night we were woke up by a fire alarm and had a evacuate the building. This was not fun with 2 kids, and I wonder if it was a prank - if that was the case, not cool. But 3 of us stayed in the queen room and rented a roll-away bed for only an additional $10/night. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Coffee was available in the room and the hotel quarters of the building were quiet. The hotel consists of a hall of around 20 rooms that is upstairs in the Student Union. A parking tag was given to me when I checked in and included with the room so that I could park in the lot connected to the Union.

I stayed at the Ball State University Hotel for one night on a weekday. The hotel is located inside the Student Union. They have two parking lots on both sides of the building. The hotel front desk is on the first floor. All of the hotel rooms are on the third floor. The hotel rooms are small but very nice. They do not have a microwave or refrigerator in the hotel rooms but on the third floor they have a microwave and vending machine. Also during business hours they offer a food court including Starbucks on the first floor which is very convenient.Overall great location and central location for Ball State functions.

The BSU Student Center Hotel is conveniently located on Ball State's campus, just one block from bars and restaurants. The hotel is right inside the Student Union which also has a food court, bowling alley, barber, and Post Office. I blocked rooms here for the younger guests attending my wedding (older folks were put up at the Hampton Inn) over Labor Day Weekend 2015. The rooms are a bit small and basic but clean. However, the Presidential Suite (where we stayed on our wedding night) is very spacious with a full table + chairs, seating area with couches, mini bar, separate bedroom and two full bathrooms. It provided a great space for pre- and post-wedding gathering. Our younger wedding guests, who came from San Francisco, Boston, and New York City, loved the fact that the hotel was so close to the bars and also the wedding events, and you can't beat the price. Queen rooms were around $75 per night, so these city dwellers appreciated the value. Plus, being able to grab Taco Bell from the food court just downstairs before they all headed to the airport? Amazing. The hotel staff were wonderful to work with to block the rooms, drop off welcome bags, etc. I'd highly recommend for anyone looking for an affordable and convenient room in Muncie!

My parents stayed at this hotel whenever they came down to see me at Ball State. Now I stay there too when we come visit my sister. This weekend was graduation and we were somehow able to get rooms. Everything is very clean and the beds are comfy but the rooms are just a bit small.

I love this motel. Alumni should continue to support this little place. It brings back so many fond memories while I studied at Ball State. Yes they are small rooms, no frills and reasonable expense. The best thing is the student center is in the same building, Starbucks is there and you are very close to the village. Will stay there every time we are in Muncie.

Stayed here four nights in July and the place was nice. The problem with the place was that for two nights the alarm went off because of an overheating problem in an elevator. Two night of sitting outside between 3 and 5 AM for an hour. The desk person said that this is a problem that happens. You stay at a hotel for sleep and I didn't get much for two nights. Beware and hope it got fixed.
