I absolutely love that Bake Sale Indy has opened a storefront in the neighborhood! I love the location, it's easy to get to and has tons of parking. If you frequent the Broad Ripple farmers market you'll find Bake Sale Indy there on Saturday. With that being said, the storefront is not open on Saturday. I do wish they had weekend hours. The staff was very friendly when I walked in and went over all the bread and pasty offerings for the day. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious and the storefront looked great.

Get the bread. Specifically, the sourdough loaf. Ask for it to be sliced. Then, take it home, all nice and fresh and perfect. Hopefully, you have some good salted butter at home (preferably Irish salted butter, but French butter will do in a pinch). Toast a slice of your Bake Sale sourdough loaf, spread some good salted butter on it, and you have yourself a perfect snack. I didn't visit Bake Sale to get a loaf of sourdough -- I just wanted to get something sweet. But they had a few lovely loaves left over at the end of the day, and I thought, what the heck. I lucked out and got the last sourdough boule. When I visited, they also had loaves of three-seed whole wheat sourdough and cherry-pecan sourdough. Obviously, I need to come back and try all of the other bread.Like I said, I didn't initially visit Bake Sale for the bread, but I ended up falling in love with it because it's amazing. However, the other baked goods should be mentioned, too! These guys seem to specialize in laminated pastries (aka croissants). On the day I visited, the case included butter croissants, mixed berry almond croissants, pastelitos, and pb&j croissants. They were all sold out of their kouign-amann and cinnamon rolls. The woman in front of me came for their chocolate croissants and was disappointed to learn that they, too, were all sold out. Like any great bakery, it pays to visit Bake Sale early, because you're more likely to find what you seek. For my sweet treat, I got the mixed berry almond croissant, which was great but just a touch too sweet for me. It has berry jam inside the croissant, as well as a berry glaze on top, so there is a lot of sweetness going on. That didn't stop me from devouring the entire thing as I was driving, but still. Bake Sale does not have any seating inside, so plan to just grab your goodies and go.

Bake Sale Indy is my new favorite neighborhood source for pastries and bread! The team is passionate about their work and it shows in the taste, quality, and appearance of their goods. I love that they also offered their day-old bread for a discount - it ended up being cheaper than I could get from the grocery store. I plan to regularly stop by Bake Sale Indy for every occasion - a tasty treat, breakfast pastries for hosting, or a loaf of bread with my regular meals.

Finally, we don't have to wait until Saturdays (Broad Ripple Farmers Market) to get the best bread in the Indianapolis area! The store also carries more delicious baked goods options than can be brought to the weekly farmers market. Make sure to check out the "biscuit as big as your head" when picking up your fresh bread, croissants, and other baked sweets.

I'm almost embarrassed that I discovered Bake Sale Indy because of Yelp Elite Nicole S.'s review of this newly established artisanal bakery at 62nd and Allisonville Road. This is really my neighborhood, or at least close to my neighborhood, and definitely an area where I hang out a lot with Glendale Town Center nearby, the newly relocated Glendale Branch Library, and a handful of businesses at this very corner that I frequent (Some Guys, Big Lots, Taylor's, Ace, etc.). I'd been wondering what was going into this spot, however, it appears they got up and going while I wasn't looking. So, as soon as I saw Nicole's review I decided to rush over. First off, you may be saying "Why open here with Taylor's right across the street?" It's really worth noting that both belong. Taylor's is a more traditional bakery with a strong emphasis on donuts/cakes. Bake Sale Indy is an artisanal bakery emphasizing breads, pastries, and more. Truthfully, there's very little overlap and they're both a delight. As is nearly always true for bakeries of any type, visiting in the earlier parts of the day is best. They do run out, though it also sounds like they're figuring out what the demand is going to be. Bake Sale Indy is a start-up that you can also find at Broad Ripple Farmer's Market. The place has a definite farmer's market vibe. It's simple yet effective and feels warm and welcoming. You can also pre-order and the website indicates an interest in wholesale orders. Items include a wide variety of croissants, breads, sourdough loaves, baguettes, and more. You can kind of get an idea on their website, though it also seems like they branch out. Because Nicole had mentioned their selling out of chocolate croissants, I made sure to arrive early. Score! I snagged it. I ate it. I loved it. I may have had an orgasm. Seriously, this is such a lovely addition to this corner. This is an ever-improving corner that has experienced renovation and growth recently and Bake Sale Indy is a great addition. There are curb cuts here, however, I would note it's a little wonky in terms of wheelchair access. There's an attempt at ADA by the landlord, though it honestly falls a bit short. Also, if you want to visit Big Lots after coming here - if you are in a wheelchair you can't take the sidewalk as there's a step between two sections of the building. So, you'll have to use the parking lot (which does work). There are accessible parking spots, however, and generally the pylons along the parking row are just wide enough that a wheelchair can fit through. It's also worth noting that this is carry-out only. I'm excited about Bake Sale Indy and look forward to returning in the very near future.

My wife and I visited this couple at the Broadripple farmers market and the sourdough bread and croissants they make are wonderful. It seems they are always coming up with new combinations. Today I got the cherry pecan sourdough and the strawberry almond croissant. As I write this, they are celebrating day 2 of being open.

Bake Sale Indy was everything I had hoped it would be from reading the reviews. It's a small, intimate storefront with a very kind baker working behind the counter. I got a cinnamon roll and a chocolate croissant. Boy, when they said the chocolate croissant had more chocolate than expected, they weren't wrong, and I am HERE for it! I love chocolatey chocolate croissants! It was so flakey and wonderful-- hands down in the top 2 best chocolate croissants I've had in Indy. I also got a cinnamon roll which the baker said was one of the best in the city and again, she was right! Perfect texture, wonderful balance of icing to dough, and man, it's gonna be hard to try other things when the two I tried above were so good!! Of note, I did come very close to opening time so everything was still available. Prices were a little high (read: ~$6 a pastry) but hey it's a small business and they are using quality ingredients! Overall, 10/10 recommend this bakery.

This place has great sourdough (I'm a SD snob) and sweets. Prices are in line w others. I think the name is a bit odd but...I didn't know this place existed and I just happened upon it. May need some more visibility as I hope they make it. Opened in June/July this year. Next to Some Guys on Allisonville.
