Azul Tequila & Bar

Been here twice, once for sit down and once for pickup because it was so good! Got the queso, chips and salsa 10/10I ordered the Birria tacos and OH MY god. I'm Hispanic and these were to die for. Best I've ever had. Got two orders when I did pick up!

Great food, great margaritas, fantastic service and upscale venue make Azul a winner in my book. The restaurant is in Stonegate subdivision, so thanks Yelp for finding it for me. First, they have a list of amazing sounding margaritas. I had the Dragonfruit Margarita which is made with Patron Top Shelf tequila. The margarita was delicious with bits of dragonfruit and not too sweet. Israel, our server was also the bartender. He was friendly, super attentive, checked on us 5 star server. The manager also checked on us and even bussed our table. Food came out in reasonable time, even though they were busy. The menu offers typical Mexican food has vegetarian options. There is also a kid's menu. Prices are reasonable. I had the Enchiladas de Mole. I could tell the Mole was house made as the sauce was rich in cinnamon and other spices. The beans were puréed and extra delicious. My husband had the Burrito Gigante with chicken, which was fabulous. The chicken was moist and spicy. The pica as fresh and delicious. (I stole some off his plate.)On Friday night, there were lots of kids playing loudly. Israel moved us so we could be in a quieter area. (After a week of babysitting, I needed to wind down.)There's street parking only. We didn't have reservations, there are lots of tables. I recommend and will be trying the lunch menu next.

Our family visited Azul for the first time tonight and we left with very mixed opions. My daughters got a shrimp coctel for $17 it said it was suppose to come with over a dozen shrimp, it didn't appear to have that many but I wasn't dissecting it, but the were smaller than average some still had some of the view remaining. It was in a large cocktail cup but it was way more liquid than vegetables or shrimp. She said it had a bit like in the back of her jaw I told her that it was probably clamatoe, but she loved the shrimp. My other daughter got a steak burrito it said it was stuffed with steak and it wasn't even half full, again in my opinion but was flat with barely a half inch rise off the plate. She said it was delicious and the steak was good. Where it really went south was for me. I really like fried flour chips and Tortillas, so I always ask if it is an option, the manager informed me abruptly that they use corn because it is the cheapest no flour. Which being in the restaurant industry for years I have never heard a manager day something like that to a customer. That being said i ordered the taco salad and when it arrived I could not believe my eyes, i didn't think anyone could mess up a taco salad but they did it and charged me $13. I had to ask for tomatoes and cheese, and when I informed the manager he said cheese was on the bottom I said what about the tomatoes and he goes Hamm and walked off. Needless to say they didn't live up to the hype tall. That being said people around us had nice looking plates containing steak and a variety of other dishes. The ambiance was beautiful, the restaurant just left me thinking that someone to concerned with cost is trying to run an upscale Mexican restaurant and it is definitely affecting the overall guest experience, in a negative way.

Love the location for this New Mexican restaurant. I had the enchilada lunch special but they had some more interesting things on their menu that I am looking forward to coming back and trying. The enchilada just tasted like most Mexican restaurants. Service was fast and very nice. I love the inside decor however feels it needs more of a Mexican feel added to the decor. Overall, I will be returning to try more off their menu.

Second time here and great service, fantastic food, great location. Will be coming back often. Lots of options including seafood and vegetarian options. Highly recommend.

The ambience is great, the staff is very welcoming and the service is very good and fast. The food was great, the portions are great and prices are very reasonable as well!
