Avon Town Hall Park Trail.
The trail has some gentle inclines I have no difficulty with in my wheelchair.
A cleaner part of the trail gives you an idea of the nice pavement.
One of the Halloween decorations.
A shelter area with picnic table
Town Hall Park Lake with an observation deck.

Avon Town Hall Park is an 83-acre park established in 2002 in Avon, Indiana, a small suburb of Indy located just inside Hendricks County on the westside. Being right next to Avon's somewhat newer town hall, this park definitely goes all out with amenities - an 18-hole disc golf course (elevation issues for those with disabilities), a Bocce court, three bodies of water (9-acre Town Hall Park Lake, a small pond to the east of the lake, and 3-acre Sycamore Lake), paved trails, picnic tables, ping pong tables, playgrounds, restrooms, shelters, AND the only free, public outdoor radio control race track in Hendricks County! The bocce ball court is located along the path connecting the park to the Kroger Shopping area. NOTE: Balls are not provided. Take your own balls. (He says with a slightly naughty grin). Fishing is allowed, however, Avon Town Hall Lakes are catch and release only and do require a state fishing license. No nets are allowed. Swimming, wading, ice fishing, and ice skating are not allowed on the ponds. The "200 Years" sculpture was commissioned or the bicentennial. If you know my work on children's issues, you can probably guess that I would appreciate the park's "Angel of Hope" memorial dedicated to parents who have lost children. It's a memorial I find myself visiting any time I'm in Avon (which is less often these days as I'm down to one surviving family member, but most of my family lived in Putnam County just west). I do find that sometimes Avon can be a bit slow to clear brush from the trails, a fact that can be difficult for wheelchair users. However, for the most part I'd easily call the trails wheelchair friendly. I'd just be more careful during Fall and Winter months especially. Parking is super easy here, shelters can be rented, and the playground areas are always kept clean. Avon is a lovely little community and this park really reflects the pride they take in their community.

Such a great park in Hendricks County! The park is open and has an actual swing set/kids area. The park has trails throughout. Some of the trails go through the woods and the other trails go through the open area of the park. There is a lot of area for those who like disc golf. The park has the goals or post for disc golf. You can fish in the multiple ponds if you have your fishing license. Great family area!

Beautiful park right off Rockville road (us36) with covered shelters and huge playground for kids of all ages! It was drizzling when we came today but there were plenty of places to hide from the sprinkle. A great park with a lot to do and walking trails. will definitely come again!

Behind the town hall in Avon, there is a beautiful park with lots of open space for hiking and disc golf. To the east of the town hall is a playground, a remote control car course (bring your own), a pair of outdoor ping pong tables, and a twin set of shelters.Behind the town hall is a large pond that allows fishing and makes for a pleasant view while hiking around it. The pond also has a couple art pieces along the trail. "200 Years" was commissioned for the Bicentennial while "Angel of Hope" is a secluded monument area for parents who have lost children.Behind the pond is a huge disc golf area that has quite a bit of elevation to it. There is plenty of space on the east and west wings of the park that are great for hiking too.Overall, it is a well maintained park with plenty of parking at the front and easy access from US 36.Review #724

This is a fantastic park. My wife and I go here frequently to walk our newborn son. The paved trails make it simple to walk and they have enough trails that you can take about an hour to walk all the way around. They also have an awesome disk golf course setup, and a really nice pond they seem to be a great place to fish. This is one of the best parks they we've visited on the west side. If you have the chance, make sure to stop in and check it out!

The Avon Town Hall Disc Golf Course is one of the nicest on which I've played. The course is very well maintained with cement tee pads, professional baskets and clear signs describing each hole and directing you to the next tee. A few of the tee pads are marked on the cement walking trail, but they're not hard to find. Some of the tee pads could be a bit longer, but I didn't have much problem teeing off. The front nine is mostly out in the open. Sometimes there are holes down one side of the fairway or the other. And most holes have at least a few trees around them. If you're a beginner, length it the primary driver of difficulty on these holes. A number of holes in the back 9 take you into the woods and that's where you find some very narrow throws through heavy trees. It offers a lot of creativity as most of the holes end up being shorter. Much of the course is around the walking trail and some playgrounds, so you need to be aware of your surroundings. The entire park is beautiful with a lake, multiple playgrounds, ping pong tables, and an RC car track. It's an exceptional park and the disc golf course is a lot of fun.

Paved walking trails around scenic woods rivers pounds and hills of plush greenery. Walk from the Town Hall to the city library, enjoy fishing, frisbee, hiking, running all in safety with the police station adjacent to the entrance. Park area includes plenty of maps of trails and even an outdoor ping pong table area.
