We found ourselves in need of a place to live after a fire in our Condo. We toured many of the options in Carmel, and I can remember when we walked into the Avant. My wife's face lit up with this big smile, and I heard her say that the Avant reminded her of being on vacation. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful as we searched for options that fit our needs and worked through options related to the best time for us to move. The grounds are well-kept, and the staff is incredibly friendly and responsive. The covered parking garage is a great perk to renting here. The high-speed internet is a great option, and the building is so well insulated that utilities are very low, and it's never too hot or too cold.If you are going to lose your home and you need a place to stay, the Avant is a great place to be while they rebuild it.

From start to finish, Avant exceeded our expectations. We moved in during a downsizing transition and loved the spacious apartment, upscale amenities, and customer-oriented staff. Even after we found our retirement condo and moved out, we had a few questions about our last statement, which was handled with care and grace. My husband and I lived here for 18 months, and our early career-age son lived here for 14 months. Regardless of age or stage of life, this is the place to go for the finest apartment living.

I've been here a few years, and the property is nice with great amenities. Unfortunately, the building is very loud -- I moved from the first to the top floor to get away from stomping over my head. However, even being on the top floor, I find myself often looking up only to realize it's coming from the hall.My review would be higher, but I'm currently highly disappointed with the lack of communication of important information and over-communicated on nonsense topics. I woke up this morning to my BRAND NEW car, not being where I parked it. I called the office and was told they moved it and sent an email to notify us not to park on the 3rd and 4th floors. I receive my billing statement via email without fail, and I did NOT receive one email regarding parking. What's even more frustrating is they advertise social gatherings via fliers posted in the elevators, gym doors, mail-room, etc. They put Christmas cards and candy canes on each door but fail to communicate, possibly moving your vehicle effectively. In addition, you must provide every detail about your car to the office -- so it's unacceptable they didn't attempt to contact residents before just moving their vehicles.I probably will not renew my lease.

I'd give this place zero if I could. Moving out charges were offensive to say the least. We moved out after living here for one and a half years. My wife and I left the apartment as good as new, yet we were hit with a surprising charge! AVANT SENT ME A MOVE OUT CHARGE CLASSIFIED AS "HEAVY COOKING ODOR". As an Indian I take this as an offensive racist charge by Avant. Is baking and the smell of confectionary heavy odor? Would you charge people for this? Or how about the constant smell of weed and stale cigarettes and trash which I thought was an issue here but let it go as this was part of apartment living. Some background: To be clear the corridors here constantly smell of shit mixed with trash mixed with weed due to their units being poorly ventilated. Sometimes the smell in the corridors was so bad that I'd hold my breath walking through them, may be this was just "heavy cooking odor" from our unit. By heavy cooking smell I think they mean Indian food. If the apartment still smells after a day or two you probably have a poorly designed ventilation system. I'd like to know how they "measure" smell? what even is a "heavy cooking odor". I've heard of mold and stale cigarettes smell, but this is a first for me. Way to find new ways to rip people off AVANTAlso how am I suppose to control the smell of food that's being cooked and what even is the point of having a kitchen? Just eat take out and ham sandwiches all day? I googled some of these BS "heavy cooking odor charges" and it's almost certain most of these charges were non-substantial. Next time just add it in the contract that you don't allow Indian food to be cooked in your apartment units. I apologize for my rhetoric but this just pissed me off! Of all the things they could have charged us for this is what they decided to charge us on?!

Lived in the Alexandria apartments (place across street managed by same company) before this, and the extra money is well worth it! Great staff, friendly environment, and amazing apartments.

Check your first apartment throughly to avoid our same disappointment! The amenities and location are wonderful but our apartment was filthy upon moving in and they've avoided giving us our cleaning refund back. $250 for a dirty bathtub(sealant not finished either), toilet, floors, dust everywhere, a moldy washer and dirty countertops. Also our water heater has rust and is just a huge mess but it still works. our floor panels were not cut and placed properly leaving open spaces in our laundry room and living room but we did not know better until we moved in. not a vacuum in the world small enough to get in between those cracks, they could've sealed it but did not.

Moved into the apartment, the ice maker didn't work the entire year of our lease. We had paint touch ups that were never fixed. In addition, we lived on the third floor, which where we experience a water leak that needed fixed. The wall was wet to touch, (pooling of the paint) - the staff fixed the leak by scraping the wet paint away and painting over it. Furthermore, the garage gate was always opened - but they forced you to get a gate code. Lastly, the property management here sucks. Well at least the property and assistant property manager. They are rude, unfriendly, charge you with unnecessary fees to overcome the lack of vacant apartments. Move to the new apartments across the street.
