I AM ONLY GIVING THIS A LOW SCORE BECAUSE OF ITS PROXIMITY TO WHEELER MISSION. The artistry itself was a fine place to live as far as nice staff, being close to any event downtown, being within walking distance/scooter distance of all areas. I lived here for a year and LOVED it but the proximity of this place to the men's homeless shelter absolutely not ideal. The homeless situation around the artistry is ultimately what caused me to move. There are a LARGE amount of them year round but a larger amount in the summer. They go in and out of the parking garages, will break into cars, vandalize, and will do hard drugs in the stairwells at any given time of the day. You will wake up to random screaming or sirens because of all the overdoses that happen on East street right behind the building. I got to the point where it was all white noise to me. You won't be able to go outside 90% of the time without being asked for money, followed, etc. carry pepper spray especially at night. One time I saw one try to get into my apartment building and acted like he lived there. They pee all over any artistry building even in broad daylight. They've even started to defacate on multiple wall areas. No police ever seem to try to make them scatter away nor is anyone picking up their feces. It's out of control. I did not see the situation improve, it only worsened. If you are a young female that is going to be living alone- think twice about living here. Other areas of downtown do not have as much of a problem. Don't ever live somewhere where you fear for your safety!

Shout out to my first-ever apartment in Indianapolis. We were so excited to live downtown for a year and ended up snagging the first room we toured at the Artistry. We only lived here for a year because it's super expensive and your girl's gotta save up, but it was a good time while it lasted. Pros and cons below. PROS:- Located steps from Public Greens, Orange Theory, City Market, the Original Farmers Market, Mass Ave, Bankers Life and Monument Circle- There's a beautiful rooftop pool with a great view and fun seating- There's a nice gym where they'd host some free workout classes and I got to meet some friends by attending them. - The apartments themselves are nice looking - The walls are pretty thick, as there seemed to be a lot of parties happening in the building, but we never really heard any of themCONS: - The pool is always a partyyyyy. Think: people taking shots, flirting everywhere, posing for IG photos. Not my thing, as I'm more of a "bring a book and read quietly" kind of girl at the pool. - Parking is super expensive and if you don't pay for the incredibly expensive option, you'll park in an open-air parking garage across the street, which I didn't like having to walk through alone at night. - Skyler at the front desk rocks, but unless you went in to talk to him directly, calls or emails would sometimes just not receive responses. - It's sooooo expensive to live here. We couldn't justify it for longer than a year.Hope this helps give some insight into what it's like being a resident here. We lived it up and walked to every downtown event and local business during our year there and now enjoy a bigger apartment with green space for a cheaper price elsewhere.

They use covid as a large way to not have to interact with you. You think it is a courtesy but they're actually super lazy and unprofessional. The main person had two mis-matching clips in her hair always acted like she was being bothered but can't even dress the part. You'll notice she has huge pores with black heads. Did I mention lazy? Their "community" after talking to my officer friend, said it is not safe to live in that area, gun fights and drugs. They're properties are polished turds. And the managent are not even polished, just big fatty turds. Not worth the price, you can do better elsewhere folks!Did I mention super lazy?

You have to beg for two keys. $175/mo extra to park in garage and still have to walk 1/2 a block outside to get to apartment Floors are concrete. No flooring. No ceiling. Just sprayed on fireproofing that drops on your stuff periodically. Lobby smells of BO.Wall unit hvac that is loud. Blinds by sleeping area that can be seen thru. For $1200/mo not including parking. Will not renew leaseI can only speak for first floor. Needed a place quickly and should've waited and looked around. From out of town so only use couple nights a week. So it is just barely adequate.

I have been a tenant at the Artistry for nearly two years. While my first year there was wonderful, this past year has been a nightmare. I can hear EVERY STEP the resident in the unit above me makes all hours of the day. I do not believe the tenant is being excessively noisy, rather I believe something is wrong with the structure of the apartment or perhaps the insulation. I am waking up all hours of the night, cannot have guests over because of this issue, and my dog freaks out constantly because of the sound. It is affecting my quality of life. The worst part of this all is I have reached out to management countless times over the last 6-7 months, both in person and via email/phone correspondence, with no avail. I feel they do not take my complaints seriously. I have been asking to arrange a formal meeting with management to come to an appropriate solution and I have offered various solutions to compromise and have gotten nowhere. With the high amount of rent I pay (very timely each month I might add), I feel I at least deserve to have my complaints taken seriously. I have seldom spoken out on review pages in negative ways, but I truly want to advise future apartment renters to think twice before coming to the Artistry.

would absolutely not recommend living here. i've lived here for two years and will not be renewing my lease. the service and staff are extremely unreliable and do not follow-up on anything. first, the water fountain in the gym has been turned off for nearly the entirety of the time that i have lived here. second, three of the five treadmills in the gym haven't been serviced in years and if you try to run on them they just shut down. third, two of the three televisions in the gym haven't worked for the time that i've lived here. the front desk says that someone stole the cable boxes and they never followup to get it fixed. fourth, i've had my mail stolen numerous times. when i bring it up to the artistry staff they say they are not responsible for lost packages. when i ask to see the camera footage, austin from staff will say the cameras aren't working and there is no plan to get them fixed. next, the trash chutes are filthy because tenants leave there trash outside of the trash area instead of disposing of their trash appropriately. enforcing trash disposal would be great but again the staff is lazy and incompetent so that won't work. next, the constant smell of marijuana in the hallways is troubling. again enforcement of common area standards would help here. the ceilings constantly leak on humid days because of improper construction so when you turn on your air conditioning, the water will drop from your ceiling along with paint particles which leaves white residue on your floor. this is dangerous for animals that will think it's water and ingest it. maintenance said it was a construction defect and there was nothing they can do. i have a thousand more examples of awful experiences and terrible management but i'm running out of room. this apartment complex is not the same as the time that i moved in, mostly because of the laziness of jacob, jen, austin, and the rest of the staff. i will not be renewing my lease and hope that you stay away. they will try to lure you in with a free month of rent, but in the long run it's not worth it. look at some of the other reviews to corroborate the awfulness of this apartment complex and the worthlessness of its staff.

If you can live here at a $200-300/month discount vs living in other "luxury" apartments around Indy and aren't afraid of homeless people it isn't a terrible option.Besides the paper thin walls, my apartment itself is fine and relatively spacious for the price. It's a lot of small things that add up over time, like constantly trying to find your package, dog poop everywhere, crazy people regularly wandering around and a staff that doesn't seem to care much. Maintenance people are nice but have entered the wrong apartment and also left my door unlocked multiple times while I'm away. Dog poop will be sitting around inside the complex for months before it gets cleaned. Most of the gym equipment has been broken for a long time. Elevator is regularly broken.Administration feels like its trying to nickel and dime you as they keep adding things to the lease like a $25 garbage fee and some credit monitoring service which you need to call and opt out of. They also post rent 3-4 days before its due and if you don't pay it in time its a $100 late fee. Auto-pay option does not work.Unsure where complex is headed because it all felt much cleaner and better run 3 years ago.

Skyler is the BIGGEST help if you need anything at all. Seriously has answered all my questions . Love the amenities. They are great! It is sooooooo hard to reach the front desk if you need something. My roommate and I called 11 times in a day one time and FINALLY reached someone after that. Also, our apartments window randomly cracked one day and after asking for maintenance to come they had signed off that it was completed even though it was not. It took about 3 months for them to fix our window. We had black mold in our apartments around the windowsills because there wasn't enough insulation. The maintenance guy told me it was dirt and that we could just wipe it. Surely enough the black mold came back& I had to have someone outside of the artistry come and remove it. Two of our light switches will work at times and other times they will not. The mailroom is a MESS. I've lost a total of 3 packages. All of the buildings mail comes into one small room and are all pretty much just in random places so you have to spend forever searching in the inside of the mailroom. There are homeless people that roam around the buildings and we are both girls and sometimes it feels very unsafe because we've been approached and screamed at.Again, the amenities are great. But you will experience a lotttt of problems living here and it will take FOREVER to resolve.

They were not transparent when signing the lease. I received a different layout than expected... If you tour a floor plan and that floor plan is posted online why would I expect anything else? It's like when you booked a trip to go to the beach for you ended up at the lake. Also the apartment was not fixed so in my book it was not move-in ready. Drains are clogged, icemaker wasn't even plugged in, huge gash in the wood and fixtures not attached correctly... I don't understand why they think that's OK. I should've just bought a house instead of signed a lease.
