I've window shopped here many times due to it being after business hours. Today, I was fortunate to be here during business hours so I could checkout this gorgeous shop. The gallery was founded in 2000 and located in old downtown Zionsville in Bender Square Shops. It is directly across from the parking lot and street parking is an option.Art In Hand Gallery is a Zionsville co-operative art gallery owned, operated and staffed by a community of 24 local, Indiana artists. I fell in love with several pieces of Chris Davis who does Raku Pottery with feathers and horse hair incorporated into his work. Stunning! He has an art gala in Plainfield April 26-28, '19 at the Guilford Township Library in Plainfield I hope to make. There are many forms of gorgeous art here. I fell in love with several stunning pieces of jewelry ranging in price from $35 - $295, impressive oil paintings and watercolors, vibrant fused and stained glass, breathtaking photography and printmaking, extraordinary wildlife wood carving and woodworking and outstanding pottery including Raku pottery. The prices are affordable when given the quality and beauty of these marvelous pieces. I'm already regretting not purchasing two pieces today that was what I thought was an impulse decision so I passed. Now, that was a mistake and I need to correct. The inventory is every changing and has wonderful and unique art for both your home, office or gifts for that special person. Several of the artists are participating in upcoming art fairs, gallery exhibitions, teaching and other activities. Several will be at the Indiana Artisan Marketplace, Talbott Street and Broadripple Art Fair, Carmel International Arts Festival and Bloom in Fisher's Library. Check the website for details.Take a few minutes to shop this impressive gallery in old Zionsville. I'll be back!!

Art in Hand Gallery is a quaint little shop in Zionsville that features works from local artists. On the day I visited, they had a nice selection of paintings, jewelry, and pottery, and the prices for each item seemed quite reasonable, especially considering the talent and work that goes into every piece. If I hadn't already exceeded my budget for this trip, I would have definitely left with something. This would be a great place to shop if you're looking for a gift that's truly unique and one of a kind. The staff is very friendly and eager to help answer any questions you may have about the pieces or the artists. I will definitely be back.

There is a beautiful little shop on the south end of old town Zionsville that displays the art of (and is operated by) 24 artists, including local talent. The art covers a wide range of mediums including paintings (all kinds), ceramics, fused glass, woodcraft, stained glass, jewelry, and textiles. And the quality is amazing. Sure, the prices will probably be higher than the mass produced stuff you find at the big box stores, but the quality is worth the price and in most cases, the pieces are hand made (there are some smaller prints of paintings in the $10-25 range). The arrangements are done tastefully allowing each artist to display their works in a manner that you can quickly see what appeals to you. With up to 24 artists contributing, you may want to allow some time to browse before picking anything up. My wife was particularly interested in the fused glass of artist Deb Achgill and the ceramics of Chris Davis. I liked the unique wood carvings of Bob Anderson and the numerous paintings throughout. What ever your interest in art, you can find something here that is priced so that you may be able to leave with it. I look forward to returning to see what new items are added.Review #2208

What a great art cooperative gallery/shop! Each artist has their own separate display in the store, making it fun to wander through each little area to see each artist's unique medium and style. It's also staffed by the artists in the co-op, so you'll likely meet someone new every time you visit. This place has lots of cool, unique gifts ranging from glass to photography to paintings and more. Thanks to the co-op nature of the shop, there are great items in a wide range of prices. Definitely a great place to get your next unique, locally-made gift!

This is a nice, quaint little shop with all kinds of handmade artistry. Blown glass, pottery, photography, watercolors ... you name it, it's in the shop.My personal favorites were the pieces by gourd artist Kathie Lane and glass jewelry maker Laura Villanyi, whose glass jewelry is embellished with beads, paints and other trinkets to create one-of-a-kind looks. Gourd artist Kathie Lane was tending shop when I visited. Her love of all exhibiting artists was obvious; she personified a "chatty Kathie" when two British women came in looking for "hummingbuhds." Meanwhile, I was entranced by Lane's designs--the agriculturally trained Lane's gourds (inedible melons, more or less) are fashionable and functional. Earth-colored baskets give way to brightly colored sculptures in her collection. You'll likely find something original in his shop.

Neat store! The art here is high-quality work from local artists. However, the prices are lower than usual for local art because Art in Hand is a cooperative gallery. The prices are definitely cheaper than what you see at First Friday events in Indianapolis. It's rare that I'm able to find engaging art at competitive prices. I like this place.
