Arctic Zone Iceplex

The gentlemen working were super awesome. The last ice rink I went to (in Carmel) was not great at all so I have to give these employees props where they are due. They were super friendly and patient. One guy even anticipated my needs had had the next size up in skates ready for me when I came back to get ta bigger size of my kid. There was an instructor who was helping my son because it was his first time I've skating. Cosmic skate was pretty awesome. We'll definitely be back. *I do wish there was better food to purchase.

My husband and I just moved to the Indianapolis area and went ice skating at the Arctic Zone recently. We brought our own skates and were bummed to find out you had to pay to skate, even if you didn't need to rent skates! We paid $10 for each of us, which isn't bad.The night we went, they had "cosmic skate", where all the house lights are turned off and there are dim colored lights cast on the ice. It was a cool concept and something I never experienced before. The Arctic Zone has Sirius XM for their radio and the staff had the "coffee house" music station on. We were finally exhausted of the less than energetic music and asked if they could change it to something more upbeat. They did and things got more exciting!We will probably return sometime in the future, but will try out other rinks first.

The organization here is a mess. Our kids attend skating classes at the carmel Skadium, which suddenly moved to this place, but they didn't even inform us about the time change. When we arrived, the people here apparently were not clear about the schedule. No emails or texts were sent out. In 21st century an organization still works like this is just appalling!

Gift cards are a big plus! But there is not a place on their website to purchase one. After finding out they change public skating times on a whim, and hire officers who don't know how to talk to people correctly, I decided to go elsewhere for my gift card for my kids Christmas this year. Looks like they need to step it up when it comes to customer service!

This is a nice rink, but seating is limited. The parents from both hockey teams were all intermingled- which is not a good plan. The fans are upstairs and are able to yell and distract the players- again not good planning.

We went on a Saturday afternoon with friends. Everything was ok and we had fun. The areas off the ice were crowded and the staff weren't particularly friendly. They also ran out of common rental skate sizes. It was busy and the ice also felt crowded. I'd go back but a better experience would be welcome.

Rink is okay but the place is managed by a bunch of amateurs. Showed up for a noon public skate, but they had moved it to 1 for a hockey game. These people couldn't run a garage sale. I'd rather go to Carmel or Indy where at least they know what's going on.

The place was dirty and not very well maintained, they do not have a large selection of rental shoes and the shoes they do have are not maintained very well. The ice was not maintained and difficult to skate on. The snack bar smelled of grease and needed the board of health to take a look at it.

I was planning on going skating with my friends, and on the website it said skating was 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. 2 hours is a pretty good time, when we got there though it didn't open up till 7:45. we were having a fun time and then all of the sudden a hockey team comes out and the announcements come on and say that we have to leave immediately, and keep in mind this is at 9:00 they use to make it 3 hrs they pulled it down to 2 hrs and tonight they just gave me and my friends a lousy hour and fifteen mins. I was going to talk to someone at the front office but they all fled the place right after they came on the announcements. This place is a waste of your money once Carmel ice skadium opens up again, I will never spend my money there again. If I could this would be a 0 star review.

I skate all the time at arctic zone, but recently every time I go they keep changing the time but not changing what it says on the website. The ice is nice, but i don't like how the parents drop of the kids at cosmic skate and we pay full price every time even tho they make it shorter. Another one of my concerns is, every time they make it shorter the kids don't know it's supposed to end at that time, so they have to call there parents and they are 15-30 mins away. What that means is, it is dark out and all these kids are leaving the building and going out by the street and it makes people nervous when all the kids are on the street. But like I said, I like the ice and the people, but these things need to change or people will stop going.
