My husband and I just recently visited the Antler Log Cabins to celebrate his birthday. We've had a lot of changes in our lives recently and have realized that getting away from the daily grind and stepping out into nature is truly healing for the both of us. If serenity, peace and nature are what you seek, this is a good place to start. We arrived near dusk and while the directions to the address were clear and straightforward, once you arrive at the property, it isn't extremely clear where each of the cabins are located. One sign said "Anglers Serenity something" and I recognized that Anglers was the name of our cabin, but I didn't know the names of the other cabins, so it was a bit confusing. I saw the "road" (and I use that term loosely) leading down towards a wooded area and I became afraid. It was steep and narrow and my Lincoln MKZ is not exactly what one would consider and all-terrain vehicle, so I told my husband to take the wheel (along with Jesus)! In my opinion, that road is dangerous and if there were ice or snow present, I might have decided to abort mission. While booking, I did note that one location mentioned that you had to have 4-wheel drive for that particular cabin, but not the Anglers where we were staying. After making it to our cabin safely, we decided that we wouldn't be leaving until sun-up the next day, so we got settled in. The cabin was lovely and cozy and clean (for the most part). I did notice a few cobwebs on the multitude of antlers and when I unrolled one of the towels left in the basket by the fireplace (meant to be used while utilizing the hot tub) there were long, straight, light-colored hairs entangled in them. My hair is short, curly and dark and my husband has a very low haircut. The only other complaint that we had was that the window over the kitchen sink had no window covering. I could not help but to feel like someone was standing there peering at us from the darkness each night. The highlight of our stay was definitely the hot tub. I don't know about you, but I've always wanted to soak in an outdoor hot tub on a chilly Autumn or Winter day. I can finally tick that off of my bucket list! The hot tub was set to a delightful 102 degrees Fahrenheit and that was perfect for the 40 degree weather. When we first stepped in, it felt too hot, but once fully submerged it proved to be perfect! We will definitely return once it is warmer so that we can go fishing in the pond and use the paddle boat! This place is ideal for people who want tranquility, but don't like being "out in the boonies"! We popped into a Target location just about 12 minutes away for provisions and there were lots of options for food located in nearby Bloomington.

Our cabin, Grandpa's Cabin, was perfect in every way! The perfect size for a couple seeking a romantic weekend getaway. The cleanliness was super clean. The ease in renting and getting access was extremely easy. When we stayed here we also made reservations to rent a boat with Fourwinds Marina on Lake Monroe. The 21 mile drive from the cabin to the marina takes only 37 minutes. Add this to their list of options of things to do and see in the Bloomington area.I grilled steaks outside on their grill while she cooked the rest of the meal in the kitchen. We had a great meal, because the owners had prepped us very well. They tell you exactly everything you need to bring and what they already provide. There were no last minute stops or hunting down a grocery. As you can see from their photos, their cabin is beautiful. I'm sure all the others are just as nice. We will definitely be returning in the very near future.

If you are seeking a quiet getaway with your loved one(s) and money is no object, PLEASE consider Antler Log Cabins! These are absolutely the best in Brown County/Nashville. There are 8 beautiful cabins to pick from, each with a slightly different lay out. We've stayed in Moosehead and Tranquility cabins, and this weekend we will be in Pappy's. Every cabin is equipped with a spacious hot tub, a fully equipped kitchen (some with stainless steel appliances), clean and modern bathrooms, huge bedrooms...etc. In the cabins we've stayed in was an accompanying lake or pond near by. Also there is a nice gas fireplace to keep you toasty. For October there are no deals but for most other months you can "buy 2 nights, get the 3rd night free" or get half off in the middle of the week. October books early, so plan ahead. Recommended for honeymoons, anniversaries, private new year's, etc. They do NOT allow parties of any kind. If you stay long enough, try a bike ride in Brown County State Park or get a tasty meal in funky Nashville.Try it!

Awesome place to get away and stay in beautiful rustic cabins in Southern Indiana. We have been there several times and each cabin has been clean and stocked with everything you need. Just bring your clothes and camera for all the outdoor deer that roam outside your window.

Does anyone realize how freaking beautiful Brown County is!? Who wouldn't want to enjoy Indiana's gorgeous countryside and unplug from reality for a few days? In fact, I think it's our responsibility as proud Hoosiers to enjoy what hidden gems our state has to offer! I'm so incredibly pleased that we chose Antler Log Cabins to celebrate our intimate spring wedding and honeymoon! My husband and I had a short engagement and a small wedding budget. The goal was to have a small ceremony of close family and a honeymoon close to home. We decided on Unionville for the location, partly because it reminded us of the English countryside where Rob grew up, partly because we both love camping and the rustic, romantic seclusion. And, c'mon..."union"ville - perfect place to have a wedding! The website has some great information on availability, photos, prices, discounted nights, and wedding packages. The managers, Mary and Bridgette, were amazing and invited us down to check out the Tranquility Cabin. The cabins are spread out enough so that guests have plenty of privacy. Completely furnished interiors with fully functional kitchens that have everything except food. The cabins were built by the family that now manages them, as well as designed them with locally hunted deer and local lumber from the very trees surrounding the cabins. Antlers EVERYWHERE. Antler handles, antler light fixtures, antler racks, etc. The cabins also come with cable TV, board games, game console, hot tub, grill, and a lovely porch complete with swing. Abundant activities in Brown County, but make sure you research your options beforehand. They do have a number of brochures, maps, and literature in the cabin about local activities. We ventured to Bloomington and trekked the IU campus for funzies. We also visited the Butler Winery, Janko's Steakhouse, Bloomfoods, and T.C. Steele Art Colony. Oh, did I mention we saw two turkeys cross out cabin driveway? Yeah, that was amazing. Ugh, everything was perfect. Way better than staying in some stuffy hotel or B&B.A couple tips ::- Only two cars allowed in the driveway - they are very narrow and very small driveways. CARPOOL!- No loud parties - Bridgette explained to us that we could not have our wedding party afterwards at the cabin because of some past complaints of the noise from loud guests.- NO INTERNET - prepare yourself...there is very little phone signal here and no internet access. Sacrificing my social media connection was difficult, but anything for my new husband!- Go on a weekday - we stayed Sunday through Wed and received one night free! Check out the website for other specials and discounts.

Myself and five friends rented The Appalachian for a 3-day weekend in Brown County. The cabin was very well stocked, and very clean. We enjoyed the setting, the hot tub, and having deer come right up to the back deck at night, even while we were sitting there. It was nice that they filled the birdfeeder before we came, so we were able to watch the birds as well. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. There were, however, a few things I would like to mention. I felt for what we paid for the cabin, that we should have been allowed to use at least the dryer. Both the washer and dryer had locks on them. It would have been nice to be able to dry our bathing suits and towels after using the hot tub. Hanging them over the deck rail did not get them all the way dry overnight. Also, the fireplace did not work properly. We turned it on before we went outside on the deck and when we came back in the fumes were overwhelming. It appears that only half of the fireplace lit. We had to open all of the doors and windows to let the place air out. This is the second time I have rented from antler log cabins and had a fireplace that did not work properly. Also, the sprayer to the sink did not work, which really wasn't a big deal but did make washing our dishes a little more difficult. Having said all that, I would probably rent from them again, I would just make sure to ask ahead of time if the fireplace is working properly, and make sure I can at least use the dryer.

I would never recommend this place due to their ethics and simple lack of compassion. When a loved one passes away and the funeral has been planned during you trip, the owner should be able to refund or move your stay for you to another date. This company offered no help at all and wouldn't even allow the couple to send someone else in their place. I do not want to support such an unfriendly business. The phone call to cancel or make other arrangements was made before the trip was to even take place, and still this company would not adjust anything. This company was more interested in my money than keeping a customer satisfied or even worrying about the grief this family was going through.

We arrived late in the afternoon on Sunday to the Antler Cabin. My girlfriend and I were planning to get away for 3 days to work remotely, hike and just be in a quiet environment for a few days. When we arrived at the cabin, it was the first time we realized there was no wifi/internet. This was not advertised on the website. It was never mentioned in any phone calls we had. It was not on any paperwork we received or signed. This cabin costs $300 per night. This is not an "off the grid" situation. This is expensive and something as simple as WIFI should have been a basic service/amenity provided for this kind of money. We had directtv with 700 channels we could care less about. Why wifi/internet was unavailable nor mentioned at any point along the way was confounding to us for this kind of expenditure. Needless to say, we had no choice but to leave the next morning. When we called Mary, we sought two remedies. First, could we move to a different cabin with WIFI available (none were available but we were willing to pack up, stay on the property, and keep our money and goodwill with this vendor). No other cabins were available. So we asked for a refund of one night. This was denied and Mary's answer was that we should have asked about WIFI when we signed up for this experience. In other words, there was not shared responsibility that Antler Log Cabins could have also ADVERTISED this clearly or said something themselves when we signed up or during the couple of phone calls we had along the way. It's a beautiful cabin. A beautiful property. But once they have your money and you feel misled or less than satisfied in any way, good luck working with Mary and her team for any kind of fairness in the transaction.

For me, this was an okay stay. It was late fall/winter, so I'm guessing it would be nicer at a different time. I agree with most of the reviews above in terms of how they're cleaned, stocked, etc. The antler chandelier was cool. The directions are tricky, esp. at night. We wandered on unlighted country roads for a while. The construction company (which I think are the owners) have their stuff - gravel, vehicles, etc - in various places, so that takes away from the natural charm a bit but it's probably unavoidable. They sent someone to fix the hot tub pretty quickly but we did have issues with it. The pond is man-made, in case you're looking for nature-nature, but it's nice to have the paddleboat. During my 3-day stay I saw no animals, but my kid saw a deer. It's pretty private, overall. But you do hear the busy road/hwy from the patio of the Angler's cabin, and you can see cars. There was a piece of 'art' on the wall (animal skin or something) with a picture of cowboys and Indians at war. Did not like that at all. The fireplace is nice, but it gets pretty stuffy upstairs after a bit, and that slight gassy smell. The TV channels were multitudinous, but so much rubbish (so many Copper Chef channels and adult channels - we had our kid with us, so we had a few uncomfortable moments when we had to rush quickly, and it was tiresome shuffling through them to find a watchable show.)In the final analysis, I paid over $950 for 3 days, and we took/bought food too. If you're going to do this, do it in good weather, or it's not good value. I do think they are overpriced especially for late season.

First off let me say we stayed in the Angler Cabin, and this place is absolutely pristine and brand new clean. Not one speck of dust, no worn down feel, from the ceiling to the floors to the bathroom, to the bed. It's like they build a new cabin for each visitor. I actually went home and cleaned my house out of shame. The surroundings are beautiful. We saw wild turkeys, and a huge group of deer ran past us while we were in the hot tub. There was a great thunderstorm our first night and there is a giant window right off the lofted bedroom that provided a fantastic view. They thought of everything as far as stocking it concerned. You really just bring what you want to eat, coffee, sugar and shampoo. The kitchen is well equipped with everything, and they didn't just mish mosh a bunch of dishes from a thrift store. Everything is coordinated matches. I know it's a cabin and really that doesn't always matter, but it's just a testament to how much care and thought go into this place. It's located right in the middle of Bloomington, home of some good eats and markets, and Nashville, an artist colony town that I can't even begin to describe. Both are roughly 20 minutes away and the drive is lovely. Although, you might really want to make sure whomever is driving knows winding country roads. Everything is easy to find, they just curve like crazy. Finally, the owners really do respect your privacy and treat you like an adult, but they have some rules in place that I think are fair and also protect the property and integrity of the place. This isn't a place to go with a group of your guys or your girlfriends to party all night and clink glasses. It's a place you go to reconnect and enjoy the surroundings and just chill out. The only thing that went a bit wrong was the directions they were nice enough to print out and send to us were a little wonky. Not their fault though, it was just one of those weird Mapquest/Google/online direction snafus that happen. There was one step in there that was unnecessary and caused us to veer off route about 20 minutes. We called them from a gas station and they got us right on route. We tracked down what went wrong at home and determined it was just a mistake. So if you are coming from Chicago, watch out for that. Then again, we are the only humans on earth without smart phones or GPS. We loved this place and so will you. Get there!
