This park is spacious with plenty of areas to sit in sun or shade with a sizable dance area. The sound easily carries to all parts of the park so you are able to enjoy the music from your seat. While you can bring in your own food and non-alcoholic beverages (no glass), the park also has a few food trucks as well as beer and wine. The beer from by @OakenBarrelBrewing and wine from @MallowRunWinery provide a range of styles for all tastes. The park is conveniently located next to the @GreenwoodCommunityCenter that stays open for restroom and water station access. A playground is just across a walking bridge giving kids an opportunity to burn some energy. We mark are calendars each year with the Greenwood Community Summer and Fall Concert Series. A great way to enjoy a summer of fall evening with family and friends.

Amphitheater Park is a hidden gem in Greenwood! It's so hidden, in fact, that I've been visiting the other parks and playgrounds in the area, and had never actually seen this park until I set about to find it. I guess you could call this a pocket park, because it's tiny but has a lot to offer. The park is located directly behind a fire department, and the playground's theme reflects its location. The playground structure is a fire truck, and there's a fire station and fire pole, as well as a red fire car that jiggles back and forth, and it's all very cute and fun. The playground is great because the ground is covered with wood chips (so it's nice and soft in case of falls), and it's surrounded by trees, so it's nice and shady. This is a pleasant park to take your children to.The playground is adjacent to an amphitheater, where there are community concert and things in the summer. It's also next to a creek, which is very pretty and we saw ducks swimming in it. A short walk away is Mrs. Curl Ice Cream Shop (the park is in back of Mrs. Curl), and if you follow the walking path, it will take you to Meridian Street. Cross Meridian Street, and you'll see Old City Park, which also has a nice playground. This park is in the center of Greenwood, and there are lots of things going on here.

Greenwood is home to some awesome parks. This park is located right behind the Greenwood Community Center and in walking distance of many other nice Greenwood Parks. It, as most parks in Greenwood, is well maintained and clean. By the looks of the signage, it appears that the names was changed to Amphitheater Park. It has a gazebo, a nicely paved walking trail, benches, picnic tables, a stream that goes right through the middle of the park, a playground and of course an amphitheater. The park is small, but kind of connects to the other nearby parks for walking, jogging, and/or hiking. The amphitheater is the central part of the park. It is very nice and can be rented. The playground has a firehouse theme and is very nice. It is on the opposite side of the creek from the amphitheater, so have to take 1 of 2 bridges to get over to the other side. It is accessible and has wood chips down on the ground. The playground consists of a tower with a twisty slide. It does not have any swing. There is also a picnic table and some benches over there. The paved trail is well paved and has park benches lined along it. The gazebo is by the trail, but does not have much to offer unless they put some seating in there. This is a nice park. It is kind of small and does not have any restroom facilities. It has abundant parking, as it shares the lot with Greenwood Community Center.

Perfect place to walk on a Sunday morning. There were several other folks out this morning walking or walking their dogs. The walking path from Craig Park crosses the street into this park as well. There's plenty of events here as well like a summer concert series. My first time at this park was when Fox59 was filming on the road a few summers ago.

Surina Square Park has been one of our go to recreation spots when the weather is warm! The park is always incredibly clean and well maintained! My toddler loves the car that he can climb into and pretend to drive. All four of my kids enjoy the play structure. The playground offers just enough to keep them busy without being overwhelming. I like the nearby walking path, it gives my toddler a nice opportunity to get some exercise without exhausting him. The fire house/ fire truck play equipment make for some very cute photo opportunities!

This park is going to be so cool when it grows up. Developed in 2017, the park has a new Amphitheater, paved walkways, two bridges that span Pleasant Creek which now handles more water (it's deeper and wider), a firehouse themed playground, and a gazebo.Parking is conveniently located on the south. From there, you can walk down the broad steps to the main level of the park or take a slight detour to the paved sloped trails which lead from the west end of the parking area. The only knock I have is that the grass and the plantings aren't ready for all the activities the city wants to put on here. I hope that whenever they have festivals and activities, that the plants will hold up to the foot traffic of all those who don't stay on the paved paths. But once the plants get established, this should be a beautiful addition to the city's park and trail offerings.Review #776
