American Legion Post 470

This is the 4th Sunday we've went here for Bingo. The people who work the bingo are so nice! We ordered food and these are some of my favorite potato skins. They are so good and they don't skimp on bacon. My husband got the chicken strips and said they were really good. They look like they were hand battered.

Great food, big menu, big bar, newly remodeled bar top and bar back. This Legion bar can hold its own against any other bar in the area! Most nights you are required to be a Legion member or the guests of one. Some nights are open to the public.

We had a going away party for a family member that's being deployed to Afghanistan. Their families has long held ties with this legion hall so I got to meet a lot of the regulars. They have a bar by the name of "Rumors" that serves strong and cheap drinks. The placed filled up for a Saturday night, and there was a band that sang cover songs throughout the evening. If you get hungry you can buy a $1 hot dog. I never imagined that Legion Halls were so hopping. It's a great outlet for the people in the community to get together.

First of all you do not have to be a member to eat at the legion. I give this 5 stars because I was shocked at the high quality of the food at very reasonable prices. I recently had lunch there with a friend that works nearby. The salad was great, I was told they make their own dressing in house, the burgers were great, the wings (4 flavors) as good as anywhere, and the Pizza was amazing. It was wonderful to go to an American Legion Hall, have lunch with some great people, and actually get food quality you would never expect. This has to be the one of the best kept secrets in Fishers.
