Room 08 is a bit better than 01 because it has a nicer bath and shower
Tvs don't really work here but doesn't everyone use netflix anyway?

Between a 2 and a 3 star. I stayed in this motel to attend a wedding in Union City. It would have been probably a 4-star if I never experienced Room 01. The prices are decent (55/night) and Room 08 was fine. It seemed relatively clean, a little beat up and super outdated with no working TV, but wifi worked well and I got a good nights rest. The shower and bath were pretty clean too. So, based on this experience I would have given it 4-stars because of my super low expectations and a relatively restful night.I had another night I wanted to stay, so when I woke up on Saturday to talk to the manager he said I could book for another night, but would have to be moved to Room 01. I got a little bit of a price discount for the second night, but the room was bad.The worst part: the stains on the sheets. Ugh. Just buy some new ones and increase your rates by $1 for a week to pay for them. Please, please, please, for the peace of mind of the people who stay there...just invest in some clean sheets. They do not have to be super comfortable. Just no stains. Make sure you wash them everyday between each guest. The shower in Room 01 is a standup shower, has some discoloration and does not look nice, but works fine. Only 1 channel on the TV worked. The hotel is next to train tracks and the train likes to blow its horn and come into town late at 4am sometimes and wake you up, but that's nothing they have control over.Staff is nice and the family running the motel is very nice. They let me borrow an iron and provided free coffee daily. They were very kind. Just please: make sure none of your sheets have stains and clean under the bed as well.

The price was right (under $60 per night) and it's pretty much the only place to stay within 30 minutes of Union City. However, the rooms leave much to be desired. The carpet is ancient and although it was probably vacuumed before we stayed here, underneath the bed was FILTHY. There was about half an inch of dust and a lot of trash under there. The lone sink was just outside the bathroom door, but it was a pedestal sink (i.e. no counter space at all for your toiletries). The cold and hot water handles were plumbed backwards (hot water on the right, cold water on the left). The single knob for the shower was confusing and it took me awhile to figure out how to get hot water. It looked like you were supposed to turn it counterclockwise (the knob was broken and wasn't supposed to spin at all), but in reality, you just push it to the left side. There was no facial tissue provided, so you have to just use toilet paper. There is a microfridge which was convenient for keeping our drinks cold. The wall-mounted heating/cooling unit was a mess. All the words next to the 4 dials were obliterated so you had to use trial-and-error to figure out how to get it to do what you wanted it to do.There seemed to be a lot of people hanging out in front of their rooms (kids especially) and they must have brought their own lawnchairs and barbecue grills. I think they must have been living there and got a special weekly/monthly rate from the owner. One of the little kids was pretty pushy (and annoying) when we were unloading our luggage. He kept asking me questions like:"Are you staying here?""Why?""How long are you staying?""Why are you only staying 1 night?"And then he proceeded to grab 1 of our bags and start to walk inside our room at which point I grabbed the bag from him, nudged him away from the door and said "Thanks, I've got it."Creepy kid.

Yikes. At $55 dollars a night, we overpaid A LOT. I feel terrible giving a place a one-star review, but the main reasons most people stay at a motel are peace of mind and a good night's sleep. I didn't have either. The door is locked with an actual key and there is only one, so don't lose it. I believe some people live at this motel, based on the strange questions a little kid asked us and the fact that seven people were sitting outside the door of one room making dinner on a charcoal grill. It's not the motel's fault who stays there, but so many guests were loitering in the parking lot, it made us really nervous. And the kid who tried to come in our room as he was chatting us up freaked us out. There is also a lot of trash and household items in the parking lot. When we returned to our room, there was a random soda can and two batteries on the stoop by our door. It was still there the next morning when we checked out.Inside the cramped room, the wallpaper is peeling, the paint is peeling, and there is a general feel of disrepair. The bed is rock hard and the pillows are lumpy. The a/c is a wall unit that has been used so much the dial instructions are worn off, so you just turn the knob and guess at what setting it is. It is also not soundproof, so we could hear music from a nearby festival clearly until it was over. No washcloths were offered, just a hand towel and two smallish body towels. If there was a remote for the TV, we could not find it. Capping off our experience, we found a homophobic slur inside the nightstand drawer when we were searching for the remote.Pros:- clean- no bedbugs- microwave- mini fridgeCons:- everything else
