We are huge movie goers and just haven't felt safe going back to the theatre yet. I really really really needed to see WW84 on the big screen. I have been waited like 2 years to see it. Trying to decide to just watch on TV I saw an ad on FB for the Alex theatre. They have $5 tix! But even better you can rent the theatre for $25 an hour!! I texted the number and the manager set it up for us! It happened pretty quickly and was super simple. It was a bit of a drive, but so worth it! The theater seats like 484 people. The limit was 15 people for rental, but we only had 6 anyway. The building seemed small, street parking was all we saw, but worked out since we were the only people there and we had no issue getting my aunt's scooter out. The actual theatre takes the entire building, except for a small front concessions area. They had some old fun movie posters so it was cool. We were able to load up on snacks for pretty cheap! Popcorn, drinks, and candy! They have Pepsi products, which excited my aunt. The theatre was VERY clean. The seats were comfortable. We are used to fancy recliners, but I was never uncomfortable during the 2.5 hour movie. Bathrooms are located just in the back so you don't even have far to go. I am so glad I saw this ad and so glad that it was so easy to book. We were all excited to go see WW84 at a real theatre and we ALL loved the movie. My sister thought it could have been shorter, but I loved every minute!! Especially the end scene! It was a bit of a drive for us for a normal thing to do, but I do think we are going to try to go back. The manager made it so easy for us.

If you are not already sitting down, please do because what you're about to read is going to blow your mind. A ticket to a Tuesday movie at the Alex will cost you TWO DOLLARS. That's right! ONLY $2 for a movie ticket. In 2018. And on any day of the week, popcorn is BYOC (bring your own container) for only $2. Yeah, man. You could bring a kitchen sink and get it filled with popcorn for two bucks. It is a classic old-timey theater and so they only have one movie showing at a time so check ahead for the schedule. Obviously not the posh theater experience we are growing accustomed to: the rickety chairs and sticky floors add to the charm. Because it's such a good deal, this isn't the place to go if you want a crowd that is respectful of the movie-going experience, i.e. expect children up and down the aisles and some talking. It's definitely a casual vibe. Great for a cheap date night to see a blockbuster and an easy drive from Indy. The rest of the concessions are well-stocked and equally affordable. The owner is very kind and passionate. I'm also told the tech was recently converted to be all digital. I highly recommend the Alex!

I love coming to this theater so much! The staff is friendly, the ticket prices are affordable, and the concessions are as well. Bring your own plastic bowl for popcorn, $1-$2 depending on the size of the bowl you bring. Movies are $3-$4 except for $2 Tuesday. The theater updates their website regularly with what's playing and what they are possibly getting next. Movies are subject to change. This is a great place to bring the family! Street parking available.

Old fashioned big screen movie theater. It's cool but it is kind of run down. Seats are the rocking chair type. The red velvet upholstery is not in the best shape but seems clean. You can not beat the prices though. Five bucks for an adult. Three bucks if you are over 55 years old. If you bring your own plastic bowl of any size the popcorn is two bucks. Drinks are two, three and four bucks. Refills on drinks were a buck. Refill on a large popcorn was free. They had a nice selection of candy all reasonably priced as well. It was easy to find. On street parking. We saw the movie "Hidden Figures". It was first run. At the Muncie Mall they are showing the same movie at about three times the price. The employees were friendly and thanked everyone for attending. The interesting thing was how the other movie goers were so friendly to each other. It was like we were in an adventure together.

This theater recently closed, but my family and I loved it. They only had one screen (thus they only showed one movie at a time), and the place wasn't fancy at all, but the tickets were dirt cheap and if you brought your own popcorn bucket of any size they would fill it up for a couple of bucks. I could take a family of four to the movies and get popcorn all for under 20 bucks. The people that ran the place were also super nice. The guy that worked the ticket booth would always chat you up for a little bit and would always come in after the movie to say goodbye to everybody. My favorite memory of this place is, after "Avengers: Infinity War" was over, he came into the theater and shouted "Thanos wins this round!".
