Meh. It's a wonderful idea and a great way to support a wonderful local nonprofit. However, it was just a "meh" event to me. I love the many different options that they have available, but at the same time, it might make more sense to have some activities that involved a lot of people (ie a bigger/better dance floor or something of that matter). Overall, a good event, but I would like to see more next year, something that would make the ticket worth the money spent!

I left Adult Swim with one question: How many people work all night long to get the smell of beer and food out of the museum before they open the next morning for the public? I can't even begin to imagine how they go about this task!Adult Swim is a benefit event held at the Children's Museum. Only in its second year, someone decided the first year was a smash hit because tickets increased by $15 this year (or maybe that was the surcharge for cleaning). All tickets sold out though, so that's a good sign! I'm not really sure who the benefit was for though.. maybe some additional information about that next year would help raise even more moneyUnlike other events I've been to, this one didn't FEEL like the event was sold out. Lines for some of the food and drink tables had a few other people in them, but the event planners did a great job of making sure there were enough tables and enough room that everyone could have a good time. Really, the night was about being a big kid in the museum into the night, and everyone I was with had a blast! Here's hoping next year is just as great (and not about $15 bucks more expensive per ticket!)

Nothing beats playing like a kid as an adult. My adult checklist was fulfilled from the first moments in, taking photos at the step and repeat banner, to final coat check on the way out, it was nonstop fun!Stand in awe of Chihuly's firweorks of glass, check. Move wheel barrows of rocks with one hand, check. Star in a African drum line, check. Ride round and round on a carousel, check. Work as an archeologist digging up terra cotta soldiers, check. There was a great variety of activities that had our group on a constant time check to make sure that we didn't stay too long at any one activity so we could take it all in.Notes to self for next year: The casual, comfortable shoes were a great idea, remember to do that again.Get there early, we arrived at 8:30, and vendors were running out already.Get tickets to the Planetarium early - they also ran out.The liquor tables got quite congested around each level's staircase, making it difficult to get into exhibits and navigate with ease.I loved ending the night watching the clock make it's midnight transition on the main floor - perfect ending!

Adult Swim was a fun night that allowed for your inner child to come out and play. All five levels of the museum were open; however, some of the exhibits were closed. Each level had a bar and different food vendors that offered different types of food. Some of the highlights of the night included:+ Multiple photo opportunities+ Exploring the museum without screaming children+ Riding on the Carousel for free+ Viewing the Fireworks of Glass from every level+ The Planetarium with its specially made vomit bags and show for the evening. Metallica's "Enter Sandman" was a good great and unexpected ending + A good DJ+ A good night with friends+ The money went to a good cause+ Free drink with entrySome of the low lights of the night included:- The only non-gluten free food option included a bag a Frito's. It would have been nice if there would have been something else- The lines around the food area- People tended to understandably congregate around this area and at times it was a pain to walk through to get through to some of the exhibits.- Around 10:30ish a lot of the bars began to run out of liquor and shutdown earlyI can't wait to see what this event has planned for next year.

I had won two tickets for this gig through an elite event, but I had little info about Adult Swim. Afterwards, I really appreciate it for all its efforts in keeping the arts alive for kids. Some mighty fine locals, dressed to impress, made this a fun and fabulous philanthropic fundraiser! Adult Swim raises money for the Sapphire Theatre Company, a nonprofit theatre in downtown Indy. The company enriches the lives of kids through performance workshops, educational and enrichment programs for. Hey, anything that promotes theatre and the arts is A-OK in my book! When I got there, they were doing a skit on the main floor with a dude in a Bumblebee costume that folded into a car. When he folded out and emerged as a robot dude, there was a thunderous applause. Very cool! The food court had been blocked off, except for a section serving hors d'oeuvres. The only selection there were tortilla chips topped with a seasoned slaw in a paper boat. OK, but I wanted to get a real taste of what was inside. Of course, one of the first tables I hit was the Yelp both. Quick pic in the Yelp photo booth, and I was off like a squirrel. Hiking up the massive ramp, going floor by floor, sampling some tasty snacks from various restaurants, some I knew and some I didn't. Here's a few highlights from the evening:- free coat check and drink token- bars, swag and munchies on every floor!- free carousel rides for grownups! How nice. I didn't have to leave all my stuff in stroller parking. - vintage costumes on display, like Bill Murray's "Ghostbusters" suit and proton pack, Dustin Hoffman's "Hook" costume, and Henry Winkler's leather jacket from "Happy Days", just to name a few. Theatre nerd moment.- groovy, white lounge where one can, chill, chat and charge. - bubble football and arcade free throws by the Indy Eleven table. Didn't get a chance to play though. Bummer.I didn't get to see as much as I wanted because the crowd was pretty large around the cool stuff. My two cents for next year is more food and more hands-on activities. Otherwise, totally awesome event for an awesome cause!

Adult Swim was FANTASTIC and I can't wait to go again next year! The Children's Museum opened their doors to all kids 21 and up for the evening. Every floor was open for exploration and grown up fun! Many of the city's best purveyors of food and drink were present with samples and single servings of their best dishes. You could class it up with some scallops from Cerulean or scarf down some slices of Donato's. Flying Cupcake and The Melting Pot did not disappoint with sweet treats. Sun King was there serving up some of their best brews; cocktails were also available for those who aren't local beer geeks like me ;)Here are some of the awesome things you could experience when you finally got out of a food or drink line (the higher end and more popular vendors had REALLY long waits): - The experience of trying to take a #carouselfie with drink in hand. Not to worry if you fail; carousel rides were free all night! - Stopping to gaze in awe at the Fireworks of Glass without running the risk of getting run down by a stroller - Tweet, Facebook, and Instagram the evening to your hearts desire, making all of your friends jealous. You can always charge your phone in the swanky social media lounge and get off your feet for a bit! - Dancing the night away in the Atrium like it's your high school prom (trust me, I saw it all from a bird's eye view - okay, maybe just the 4th floor - no one is going to judge your bad dancing, they're all too busy letting their inner high-schooler out)- Take goofy pictures with your friends and dates in all of the photo booths (Yelp had inflatable wigs, Indiana Organ Procurement Org. had some sweet mustaches and frames to play with, and there was an actual old-school photo booth on the lower level, not far from the...- FACE PAINTING! When was the last time you let a stranger paint something awesome on your face?! Or you could have them paint your arm and pretend it's a tattoo...if that's what you're into :)- All of the awesome photo opps in every. single. exhibit. If you don't come away from Adult Swim with awesome pictures, you're not trying hard enough. Look at 2013 and 2014's pictures for inspiration if you plan on going next year :)All in all, an amazing evening, which I hope TCM plans to repeat, every year, for a long, long time.

Yesss, so glad I was able to attend this year. By the time I had heard about this event last year it was sold out.Why does this event rock? Your inner child gets to play at the famous Children's Museum without dealing with children! Bahaha! Plus, you can drink alcohol! So much fun. Some highlights for me? -The Planetarium show, it was very entertaining and the crowd we were with made it even more hilarious [thanks alcohol]. - The Yelp booth, duh! Had to say hello to Brittany and check out the photo booth!- The movie exhibit, so many cool props from various movies and TV shows and many fun interactive aspects. I personally enjoyed getting my picture on the Simpsons couch the most. - The dinosaur area jam session, gotta love a place where you can bang on drums with no judgement. - The fun photo ops!- Free food!- Chihuly glass, so cool!- Carousel rides after a few drinks with no kids. :D There is even more I could list! The only things I would want to see improved for next year? Vendors not packing up their stuff early. I felt like the event basically ended at 11:30 due to this even though it was supposed to end at 12. And temperature control, some exhibits were very toasty! But this may have been due to them overcompensating for the cold air outside and was bearable. So if this even sounds even remotely like something you would be interested in, do yourself a favor and go! Tip: Tickets are cheaper the earlier you buy them!

2014 was great. Can not say the same for 2015. All the food ( besides the pizza) was gone in the first hour. They also closed most of the bars early because they were running out of drinks. The people attending are also sticks in the mud.

Great event you can dance the night away or explore the museum and be a kid. . Whether visiting the dinosaurs and playing percussion, getting your face painted, building something, or visiting the Planetarium . The event was sold out, it did not feel like it, with five floors, enough area to spread out and partake of the different event venders. The night was over before we knew it. Great photo oppourtunities.
