The owners are so nice! They are welcoming and very sweet. I got a gyro and it was huge. Generous portions - great value. The space is unassuming and simple, with plenty of parking out front. Don't sleep on this spot.

This place is def a mom and pop place. There were 2 ppl working on a Thursday lunch. You order at counter, and they bring it out. The food is good, the gyros was the star. I regret ordering the chicken Schwarma instead of the Gyros. They have plenty of different sides and specials including aveglemono lemon rice soup. I will get that the next time. You wait longer for smaller restaurants, but we did not mind. There are no fountain drinks, just a cooler of bottles and cans. The ambiance was rustic. I think they do a lot of carry out. There is a table of hot sauces, and some tables with succulents. This is not a place I would go out of my way to frequent, but if you are in the area, get some gyros.

If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. We went on a Wednesday during lunchtime. The owner took our order immediately, and told us what was popular (gyros) and what he recommended. I ordered the chicken shawarma, my friend ordered the gyro. Both orders were made fresh and we were served about 10-12 minutes after our orders were taken. The food was DELICIOUS. The chicken was tender and had good flavor, as did the tzatziki and hummus. My friend really enjoyed his gyro. Prices were fair too for how much food we got ($16.33 after tax for my shawarma and soda). The owner was super friendly too, and offered us THE best baklava I've had. Sweet, sticky, and just big enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. It's safe to say this spot made our favorites for office day lunches. We'll be back soon!

A little surprise with the number of happy reviews that it was pretty quiet inside. They have a number of sauces/seasonings to add, pick your choosing. Spicy Gyro with homemade Tzatziki sauce. Great gyro of nice chucks and plenty in my lunch. Sauce was good and not overpowering like some others I've had where the flavor and smell stay with you for the rest of the day. Really good and crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside crinkle cut fries.OMG- the baklava! Fresh- soft- bursting with flavor tasting the honey, filo, and a background of nuts. A must! This is worth the stop if your in the area

Found this remarkable little jewel after shopping next door. The couple who are the owners were so friendly and a delight to meet.My husband and I each ordered the Gyro one spicy and one regular and let me tell you the meat was so tender and flavorful, I was amazed and the amount of meat that was on the pita bread was plentiful. Homemade tzatziki sauce was delicious. Adel and his wife were so friendly, coming outto talk to us to see how we liked our meal and telling us how they meet andended up in Indy. We also got a piece of baklava, Delish. Please don't overlook this wonderful experience. We are coming back for the lamb chops and I can't wait!

Probably the BEST Gyros I've had in Indy!Full of flavor, fresh tzatziki sauce and a warm and fluffy pita that was the perfect compliment to the gyro! The service was great, met the owner who took my order, and came by to make sure it tasted good and what I expected. It's a smaller restaurant, yet clean and plenty of tables. There were probably only a dozen people in the restaurant when I ate, but a number of people ordered their food to go. Will definitely come back soon!

So I have been a big fan of Adels for years. A couple years back they had a fire and I was so excited to see they were back open. Finally had a chance to visit with a friend today and it could have gone much better. First and foremost they still have a huge gyro. The owner and his wife are still there. The restaurant was pretty full but no one in line at the counter. We were greeted and our offer was taken quickly. Then the wait began. It took over 35 minutes to get two gyros and fries. The pita was not warmed or if so it was cold by the time we got our meals. The meat was slightly warm and the fries were warm but wouldn't call them hot. I truly hope they can get more efficient as a lunch venue most people just don't have that long to wait for a meal. The tzatziki is really good here so if you have the time give them a try. The decor is nice and bright after the remodel.

We live in St. Louis but our daughter and son in law live in Indy. We came over and were watching our grandson and I decided on Gyros. I was happy we chose Adel's. No web site but their phone works just fine and I think Adel took my order. Easy to find and right off College Avenue. Parking lot is well lit as is the restaurant. Everything prepared right in front of you after you order. We got a regular gyro, a spicy gyro and baklava and all of it was excellent. Travelled well but would have been happy to eat there as it is a charming little unpretentious place. Portions were all huge. Neither of us could finish the gyros. Baklava fresh and tasty. Very polite and anxious to please. It will be a regular stop on future trips. Lots of specials too. Ask about them when you call or just come in!

The best gyro in 10 years! Everything so fresh. Pita, gyro meat, lettuce, tomatoes, onion slices. It was fabulous and I will be back. Adel is very friendly and gracious. The tzatziki sauce was A+. Like the real thing. Most gyro places I have been to seem to just use sour cream without much flavor. The amount of tzatziki sauce was my favorite thing. Often you just get a tablespoon of sauce in gyro places for the huge sandwich. Slathering the sauce was great! The Avgolemono soup was more expensive than the gyro sandwich. I wouldn't order that again. It was $13 for a large. Maybe 12 ozs. Didn't taste the lemon and the rice tasted like minute rice. Tasted like chicken rice soup. I think he might have thrown it together since I ordered soup. It came with one lemon slice. I didn't taste any egg in the soup, which is what makes the soup so special. The place is clean and fresh and comfortable.
