I recently attended a Plant Based cooking class at A Cut Above and it was SO MUCH FUN. Chef Amy is fabulous and her class is the perfect mix of education and fun. I feel like I learned tips and techniques that I could take home and use day to day but also ended up making a very unique and impresssive meal. This class was Thai inspired so we made a salad, coconut curry soup, and moo shu wrapped in a pancake of sorts.Their cooking classes offer a cash bar and walk in appetizer. Then we get to the cooking, all of the ingredients were portioned and passed out. We had the opportunity to taste along the way. After cooking everything, we got to sit down and enjoy our meal. This was such a fun experience. Highly recommend as a date night activity!

Had the opportunity to come here for a work team building event. So so sooo much fun! I highly recommend it! Even if not for a work event but maybe friends/family event. It's an out of the box idea that will give you major cool points. We did a Chopped Themed event. If you have ever watched Chopped, the TV show, you know that they provide you with a basket of items and you and your team is to figure out what to make with those items. You have to make sure that you include every item that's in the basket. It was so much fun to see what the various groups came up with. There were four groups and three judges. Once their meal was prepared, they brought the dishes to the judges so that we were able to rate them. I was one of the judges which was very fun! We had an appetizer and then a main dish. At the end the REAL chefs prepare a meal using the same ingredients! The staff was extremely nice and entertaining too. Made us feel comfortable and welcome. There was an open bar of wine and beer (and soda) so add that with some music I tell you it was just a blast. Thank you team for hosting! It was amazing!

A Cut Above catered an event I was invited to at Pfeiffer Vacuum. The menu is solid for a lunch event, and the beef tenderloin did not disappoint. Cut with a fork and phenomenal flavor even when I got a medium/medium well piece! The salad dressing and salad were refreshing and nice, I found myself dipping everything in the dressing! The potatoes and the chicken left a bit to be desired but they were cooked great! I skipped the carrots (not a fan) and the rice (since I had a roll). There were 2 dessert options, a chocolate pie from local pie shop in Noblesville and this awesome little strawberry shortcake cup. I will consider using them to cater an event I put together for sure!!

His Goatness and I celebrated our sixteenth wedding anniversary this last NYE; as a special surprise, he signed us up for a cooking class with Chef Amy at A Cut Above. It was a thoughtful gift -- and possibly the best NYE I've had since our wedding. Chef Amy was lively, fun, energetic, and inspiring. While I've loved to cook for many years, I did learn some new techniques (and trivia -- did you know that garlic heads always have 23 cloves?). I've incorporated them into my every day kitchen practices, now. So! With a bunch of other fun people (looking at you, Bryce and Meg -- you almost made me snort my drink several times), we made delicious French onion soup, sautéed mushroom-stuffed crêpes, possibly the best risotto I've ever tasted, a delicate filet, and a buttery lobster tail (served with broccolini that we didn't make). It was fun, sharing the cooking with His Goatness... and the food, from the hors d'oeuvres to the special dessert (a creamy, delicate parfait), to the special cocktails, was terrific. I want to do this again. Truly. I haven't laughed so much in ages, and it was a really special night out.

I was recently in Carmel as a guest presenter for a wedding and events industry event where A Cut Above provided the food. Having a culinary background, I tend to be very fussy about food and rarely eat before speaking. The event had a Tea Party theme, and as it was the group's first in-person event in 18 months, they wanted to keep things low touch. A Cut Above created unique tea-time-themed bento boxes. Each box contained a small Mixed Green Salad, a Scone with Raspberry Jam, a Macaron, and two Tea Sandwiches. The Salad was fresh, and the dressing in a pipette was delicious. The Macaron was perfectly crisp and tender, and the Cucumber Tea Sandwich was light and flavorful. The two standouts were the Coronation Chicken Tea Sandwich and the Lavender Scone. I LOVE Coronation Chicken, and this was as good as any I've had. Lavender is a flavor that can easily go wrong, and this was perfect. It was subtle with just a hint of Lavender in a tender, well-made Scone. The Tea selections they offered were beautiful and well presented.Their staff was friendly and professional, the food was excellent, and everything was beautifully presented. I enjoyed everything so much I asked for an extra box to take back to my hotel room!

We hired them with the specific instructions that we wanted short rib for our large, corporate events, but they served us chuck roast. I simply don't get caterers these days.

We had them cater our daughter's wedding. They were prompt in delivering the food and the owner was there to oversee everything. The food--chicken cacciatore, short ribs and eggplant Parmesan--was tasty. The ice cream bar they provided was so good. They staff was very efficient and even helped with the cupcake serving. All-in-all an excellent experience.
