This is located in the Marriott hotel on the Purdue university campus. The atmosphere is like a steakhouse but somehow it also felt like you were in a study or a library in someone's home. The service was awesome and the food was great. We had the beet and arugula salad, the beets were delicious. Then we had the scallops and steak. Both were cooked to perfection. A great place to try if you are in the area. I'm

Absolutely love the ambience and the food here, right in the heart of Purdue campus! Love their mellow playlist too! We ordered vege omelette, on the menu it mentions made in egg whites only, but we asked for full eggs and they were happy to accommodate! We also ordered their appetizer pastries which was a platter of three small but yummy pastries!

Stayed at the Union Hotel for Recruiting event. Was seated quickly in this elevated and modern restaurant with a large party. Food and wine was wonderful, would come back again due to proximity to campus, hotel and ambiance.

This was the greatest city slicker destination in the area, out of this world ingredients, quality, presentation, menu variety, and experience showcasing the best of the dull cornfield filled flat Midwest. My four friends and I started off five years ago for brunch here. It was fantastic! Sure the prices were shocking for a small college town, they'll have to issue serious discounts during the next economic crash, but I am sure those Purdue professors, rich parents, and sport's fanatics hardly notice. Then a year later my siblings and I dropped in for my birthday. Noticed a shift towards the shady, obnoxiously high jump to costs across items, can someone explain how a wagyu burger served here is even more expensive than East End Grill's wagyu burger, how do fries cost six dollars? This crowns 8Eleven the prince of price gouging, not a crown any business wants! A burger here is five bucks more than Fleming's Prime Steakhouse burger, most exquisite and posh place I've ever visited. The rewards program doesn't really work here after signing up five years ago, just the random emails on their wine tasting nights. Despite the lovely indulgent atmosphere and easy escaping the farm aura at every turn, wow that bourbon tastin room is amazing! I still have to uncheck the stars on my review due to the multitude of negatives I've heard from friends pointing to the now overrated and silly prices experiences here. Seems obvious that 8Eleven has fallen alongside other local landfills, Greyhouse Coffee, The Lobby, and Bru Burger, who manipulate and take advantage of consumers via high prices and low results. I hope they can get their act back together because all the right pieces are here to put this bistro back on top. I do like Leaps Coffee for its decent value and quality. But there are many better options like Sacred Grounds, The Eleventh House, and Wonderlust. Thankfully McGraws Steakhouse, Bistro 501, Town & Gown Bistro, and Mountain Jacks showcase fantastic menus, top tier food quality, and especially for T&G Bistro promote some ideals in budget friendly pricing.

Glad to see a place for fine dining on campus! Really wanted to like this place, but the food left a lot to be desired. The crab croquettes were really good, but sadly this is where the good ends. The braised beef was tender but needed more seasoning/braising, and the accompanying carrots were undercooked. The spicy shrimp pasta was not spicy at all and void of any flavor for that matter. The roasted wild mushrooms were absolutely the worst - oddly and insanely bitter. Had to send this one back. The chocolate bread pudding was way too dry, far from a bread pudding but more like a brownie.Service was alright. Pleasant but not very warm.

My husband and I came in tonight for another meal. I ordered the $50 Ribeye and it simply sucked. It was lacking in total seasoning. I should have taken a picture. Texas Road House has better ribeyes. Mountain Jacks gives you a 4-course ribeye meal for a better price. My husband had the chicken. That was good. I really liked the Brussels sprouts and caesar salad. Oh yeah that was very good. I'll be back again for the best key lime pie.

I got the French onion soup and salmon. The soup was very good (and very hot slightly burned my mouth) with the cheese and onions. It had the perfect amount for savoriness. The salmon was also very good. Very crispy crust and tender. Wasn't a personal fan of the lentils, but still ate it. Service was probably the best thing about the restaurant. They were very nice, friendly, and set up the utensils for the dish that was ordered. The soup was $13 and the salmon was $32. Definitely a steep price, was it worth the cost definitely not. But the food was still very good. I would select the is place if you want to celebrate with a fancy meal. 7.0/10

This was a must on my recent trip to West Lafayette. It was tough to get a reservation during Family weekend but I lucked out after regularly checking Open Table. I originally assumed the name made reference to the address but it actually pays homage to Purdue alum Neil Armstrong and Gemini 8 and Apple 11. The interior is very classy with warm dark tones. Our server was very professional The menu boasts regional and seasonal ingredients. My dining companion, and I both had the Steak Frites cooked medium rare, and it was served as ordered. I started with the wedge salad and I am still thinking about the thick slice of bacon that topped it off. Coming from Miami I was surprised that my dining companion ordered the Keylime pie for dessert. He claimed to be a key lime pie connoisseur, and he said this one did not disappoint with the marshmallow topping. We both had the 8Eleven signature Old Fashion with vanilla syrup and black walnut bitters, it will be the standard by which I rate all future Old Fashions. When in West Lafayette a meal .. or meals.. at 8Eleven is

The shrimp cocktail appetizer wasn't an appetizer-way too much, 5 huge tough shrimp. The autumn salad was very good. The waitress suggested a side of Brussels sprouts, again way too much. Wish we hadn't accepted her suggestion. Ambiance is okay. If the restaurant is full it's very difficult to hear table mates. All in all, nothing special.
