I'm the first group of people live here. The apartment is new and everything looks perfect. The area is big enough compare to 9 on canel which is also a new apartment beside. Most of the staff work here are very helpful and friendly. Not all of the people will like you or like to take complaint from you.Electricity and Internet is not included. Since there is a huge window in each apartment, and incredible high ceiling here, your electricity bill won't be cheap in winter anyway. Due to the cold weather, water wet my floor from window. This should not happen to a $1200 rent apartment. No ceiling cause water noise kind of loud, not a big issue for me. A real issue is dog! Those lovely little guys bark at mid night sometime. Hope your neighbor has no pet, though this's almost impossible.Nice public amenities, but washer dryers are always fill by neighbors. you get a small washer in unit that won't really dries your cloth. It's hard to get one empty W/D downstairs when you need...Hope I didn't scare you. This is a very nice apartment overall. It is comparable safe and I haven't heard any bad thing happened so far. If the rent is not this expensive, I'm sure I'll continue live here.

My review is based on my experience with 800 Cap from September 2014 - August 2015. I lived on the first floor.Would I recommend this place? Heck no.1) The paper thin walls. Living here you should expect to hear everything going on with your neighbors - from the convos, to the music, to the tv, to their private business (yes, seriously.)2) The loud water pipes - it constantly sounds like something is breaking down in the building when a toilet is flushed or a shower is ran. 3) The "court yard" is a let down - and disgustingly dirty, full of irresponsible pet owner's dog piles of you know what. Gross. Also, people act like outraged fraternity boys and you'll find piles of puke and empty cans & bottles everywhere. Yuck.4) We lived there for almost 9 months with no working washer & dryer. (And yes, we were told we would have one moving in.) Using the community laundry room is like hell - similar to college dorms. People throw your stuff around and no one cleans up after themselves.5) The worst part is the management office. Upon moving in, our security fobs didn't work and no one could help us for three days. Imagine moving into a building you don't have access to. And the management never helped solve any issues. For example, my car which I paid $XX to park in their parking lot got towed away by accident, and management would not reimburse me. They could care less. Plus, they were barely in their office during their "open" hours. Funny, huh?Now with all of that being said, I will say that before we moved out - management was entirely replaced in the building and the new individuals seemed to really be turning the place around. Responsive and actually trying to make a difference. It was nice, but too late for us.The prices DO NOT match the means of living there. $1,500 for a cheap one bedroom with terrible management & maintenance. No thanks! Look else where.

I don't usually don't write reviews, but when saw that 800 Caps Management had received some negative reviews I felt I needed to share my experience as a resident at 800 capital I have lived here almost 2 years and have been given nothing but excellent customer service every single time I have had any interaction with the Property Manager Marshall or his staff. I have lived in many downtown Indianapolis apartments but this one I feel is truly home, besides loving my apt and the building itself having Marshall as a property manager makes living here the best living experience I have ever had he's so friendly and helpful goes out of his way to drop off packages I don't even have to ask him he just does it. He is so quick to respond to any verbal work orders that I might put in on my way in or out of the building. 800 Capitol overall is an absolutely wonderful place to call home what puts it over the top is having Marshall as a property Manager that's what puts 800 Capitol in my opinion as the number one place to live if you want to live in a luxury apartment in the heart of the city!

If you're in the market for a noisy overpriced apartment that constantly smells like either sewage or a garbage dump, then this is the place for you. For a one bedroom costing $1200 a month (less than 700sqft) you'd expect better. During my 2 years of living at these "luxury" apartments I've experienced some pretty frustrating incidents. Whether it be the vomit in the public restrooms/elevator/courtyard/and parking lot, dog poop both inside and outside the building, having the fire alarm pulled at 3 in the morning on multiple occasions, shattered glass bottles laying around, and the outdoor spaces constantly littered with garbage. To top it all off the walls are paper thin. You hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do. Including every time a neighbor flushes a toilet or takes a shower. Get used to the sound of flowing water since you'll hear it every day due to the old exposed pipes. I've had water come into my apartment through the walls about 4 times now. My next door neighbors smoked inside their apartment which meant my apartment constantly smelled like smoke too. Unless your method of transportation is a bike, this probably isn't the place for you. They got rid of the free parking earlier this year. You can however park in the alley behind the street. Just don't make the mistake of going back there at night. I've been harassed by men asking me for money on multiple occasions when trying to park my car.

My friend and I wanted to live here because it's literally 5 minutes from Iupui campus. We took a tour and everything seemed great, we proceeded with the application process paid for the applications ($75) and didn't hear back. We contacted them 3 times to hear that we were approved 3 weeks prior for an apartment. By this time "all but one apartment was taken" and the rent was much higher. Basically we were scammed out of $75

I have lived at 800 Cap for several years, and I cannot wait to leave. The management is incompetent, communication is nonexistent, and basic maintenance is ignored. They charge premium prices for a place that is falling apart, unsafe, and managed by people who clearly do not care about their residents.Security is a JokeThey love to advertise "secure building" and "gated parking lot," but that couldn't be further from the truth. The gate and fence have been broken for ages, meaning anyone can just walk in. In fact, the exterior doors are often left wide open, which has led to homeless individuals living in the hallways and even inside the community room. Police are called here constantly, and recently, there was an actual physical altercation between a resident and a leasing agent. This place is NOT safe.Absolutely Disgusting Conditions * The hallways reek of smoke. * Trash piles up in the hallways and the parking lot... There was a tampon laying by the elevator for at least a week until a resident removed it. * Dog poop is everywhere outside. * And yes, there have been feces in the hallways for multiple days! The management claims they do regular maintenance, but that is an absolute lie. They don't even change air filters, and if something breaks, good luck getting it fixed anytime soon. They Don't Care About Winter SafetyDuring the winter, they do NOTHING to clear the parking lot. You will be stuck trying to dig your car out of a solid sheet of ice, and if you ask for help? You'll be told to "find street parking" - despite paying for the parking lot. The sidewalks and ramps are rarely salted, making them dangerous to walk on.Horrendous Management & Customer ServiceThe leasing office is NEVER open when you need them. For the past week and a half, I have been trying to schedule my move-out walkthrough. I have sent emails, called multiple times, left voicemails, and messaged through the app...ZERO response. When they are in the office, they are rude and unhelpful. When I tried to get a guest parking pass for just three days, I was met with hostility and asked if I could just come back from my trip early instead. When my A/C broke in the middle of the summer and my apartment hit 92 degrees, the office agent's response was: "It's not like it's my fault. What do you want me to do about it?"Absolutely unacceptable. They Will Nickel and Dime You for Their Mistakes * Random extra fees constantly show up on rent statements. * More than once, I have been wrongly charged a month-to-month fee while still on an active lease. * They regularly raise rent while taking away amenities--we no longer have access to a grill or even basic door lights. * I once scheduled an amenity through the complex's app, only to be told that I couldn't use it because the office worker was "the only one there" and "we don't schedule those" - even though it was advertised and booked through their own system.Final Thoughts - Stay Far AwayThe only reason I stayed here as long as I did was for the location. But no location is worth this level of frustration, lack of security, disgusting conditions, and mismanagement. If you are thinking about moving here--DON'T. Do yourself a favor and look anywhere else.

DO NOT SIGN A LEASE HERE.They do not value residents and you will never have issues resolved. Putting in my 60-day notice to vacate has been a nightmare. Even after multiple conversations and unanswered emails, I am being charged the incorrect rent for my last months rent. They've been made aware multiple times since Sept 11th and it is still not resolved. I'm at the point that I fear I will need to involve legal counsel.I went as far as tracking down the Regional Managers information and still haven't had any of my emails responded to.

The most unprofessional leasing experience I've had. They don't answer the phone, don't respond to emails. The "manager" said she'd call me over 48 hrs ago, never did. No idea who owns/manages this property, but I need somewhere to stay and this place has let me DOWN . I submitted application paperwork online , paid their fee , and still was not contacted.

I have lived at 800 Cap for a little over a year now and it is a wonderful apartment complex to live in! My apartment is very spacious with a great view of downtown Indianapolis (even on the first floor). Any maintenance requests that were put in have been resolved in a matter of days. The common areas, like the exercise room and courtyard, are always kept nice and clean. There is even a rooftop that is the perfect downtown hangout. The leasing staff is excellent as well. They are very responsive and every couple of months they provide all the residents with perks like free breakfast, pizza, and even drinks! One of the best things about 800 Cap is their location. They are steps away from coffee shops, breweries, and grocery stores. Not to mention a street away from the Canal and the Indy Cultural Trail. I recommend 800Cap to all my family and friends- it is a lovely place to call home!
