5 Thumbs BBQ

You don't come here on a date... because the BBQ might steal your girl. I came for lunch, service was quick, brisket was solid... moist smoked and perfect texture. The owner confirmed if I wanted sliced or pulled,,, then fatty or lean. Sliced is most difficult to get right IMHO. I was pleased with each bite. Side of potato salad was spot on. This used to be eastern deli with BBQ. The deli is gone and owners are slowly updating house it appears. Priority is the meat. It's clean now... I found it humble yet clean.

Me and one of my co workers came here and got the pulled pork we both began to feel nauseous and a little after that we both became sick for 2 days with food poisoning we will not be going back.

Ordered catering from this place and it was really good! The pulled brisket, pulled chicken, and pulled pork, were all tender and flavorful. The cheesy potatoes were a fan favorite! We also had green beans, and baked beans. The guys came and set everything up and brought us plenty of buns and a huge jug of bbq sauce. We ate the food too quick to take pictures lol Highly recommend!

I love a good local hole in the wall restaurant. This little barbecue restaurant is in an old house. You'd miss it if you didn't know it was there. The sign was broken and falling off the building on the day we were there. The fellows that took our order were friendly and accommodating. The menu is simple combination of the usual barbecue options. We ordered at the counter brisket sandwiches and a Mac and cheese side. The food came out quickly and hot. Really hot. The brisket was so moist and tender that it tasted like tenderloin. The homemade barbecue sauce that accompanied the sandwich was tangy, sweet and delicious. The sauce is served on the side. The Mac and Cheese is creamy and cheesy. It was served in a little styrofoam cup. The dining room is dated. Chairs and tables are 1980s style and there is a large tv blaring sports. There are some interesting vintage barbecue photos on the wall. When we were there, the bathroom was out of order, which was unfortunate because I wanted to wash my hands. The yard and outside of the restaurant need some attention to make the place more inviting. But the food is good and staff is friendly. Oh, I did not see alcoholic beverages available. Too bad, a craft beer would pair well with the bbq.

Great BBQ, but absolutely gross inside. Sticky, super dirty floors, bbq smeared on the light switches, don't think about using the bathroom. Don't think they've cleaned the place once. Makes me question what the kitchen looks like and if there are health code violations. Please hire some people to come and scrub the place and I'd be happy to delete this. Love your bbq and the owners are friendly!!!

Great sauce. Good ribs! Very nice guys. Near Michigan Road on 96th Street. The delicious smell will help you find it.

The pulled pork is spot on and the bbq sauce is really good. I usually don't use sauce. But this is good.

Hard to find good barbecue in Indy but lemme tell you this is it. Hole in the wall but they know what they're doing! Rib tips had a natural smoky flavor and that sauce was amazing! Definitely gonna be on my lunch rotation from now on.

Great rib tips, and wonderful service. Next time I'll try the brisket. People you got to come here.

5 Thumbs is probably in the top 5 BBQ places I have been too (Texas, Memphis, Carolina, Kansas City, St. Louis, etc) you have to give them a try, you will not be disappointed.
