Overrated. Smells like mildew and dead dreams. Food ranges from mediocre to bad. The service is usually kind and kids get a popsicle after dinner, which is sweet.

100 Mile Rib and Chop House in Fowler, IndianaMy two local Fowler friends and I ate dinner at the 100 Mile restaurant twice. We have mixed reviews. One night I ordered the breaded tenderloin sandwich. Compared to other Hoosier restaurants, theirs was decent to good, but less good than I have tasted elsewhere in Indiana. The next night I had their fried chicken, which was good because I love dark meat fried chicken. My friend ate the breast chicken and she was unimpressed. My friend had the Tilapia fish with Creole seasoning. She loved it both nights. I was not ipressed. This is a local restaurant where Fowler folks will see friends and acquaintance. The warmth is good. The waitress was grumpy one night but quite cordial the 2nd night. The price is quite reasonable so that is a very positive feature. There is plenty of free on-street parking. There is no ethnic or racial diversity in Fowler so that is the restaurant's clientele.

Food is always hit and miss. Service is normally friendly. Fish is always great and the prime rib but straying from that is where the food gets a bit dicey. Great tenderloins.

I've been here twice, the first time I had a cheeseburger and I wanted it well-done but it was medium rare and not very good. The waiter wasn't friendly the first time either. The second time I came here, I had a new york strip and it was very good and the waitress was friendly and the mixed drink I had was delicious. I'll be coming back.

I don't normally put stuff on Facebook but I don't want any of you to go though what we went through last night.Took my employees to the 100 mile house in Fowler Indiana, for our Christmas get together. This used to be a very good place to eat and was friendly. There were 7 of us and 6 of us ordered ribeye. My granddaughter had the chicken strip and fries. Hers was good along with the appetizers and salads. The chicken strip came out 15 minutes before the rest of ours no big deal. We got our steaks the one that was to be very rare was medium we sent it back only for the owner of the restaurant to tell us it was cooked as we asked. They tempted it and it was cooked right. We explained that it shouldn't be warm in the center. 30 seconds on each side that's it. He then sent one of his staff members out to tell us they were out of ribeyes. My employee chose a new your strip. After we were done eating they brought her steak to her. The waitress was wonderful she did a great job. She brought the check and said if you have any questions about your check see the owner he's at the bar. Looking at the bill I was charged for the steak sent back and 15.95 for the new York strip with no sides. I went back to the bar and explained that the steak wasn't cooked as ordered. Sent it back shouldn't be charged for both steaks. Was told our cook has 15 years of experience and it was cooked as requested. My steak tasted like it had been reheated and wasn't cooked correctly either. The others were very salty and had lots of fat and was very tough. So I paid my $175.00 bill and left. As a manager myself I would never treat a paying customer the way we were treated. For everyone I said you've got to try the 100 mile house in Fowler use your own judgement. Thought it was odd that for a Saturday night at 715 Indiana time we were the only ones in there eating. Hope this gets the word out so other's don't get taken. When asked for the steak back since I paid for it I was told the staff was eating it.

The food was acceptable, although they had let their servers leave right before three parties arrived, so the service was rather slow. Environment The behavior of the other guests was atrocious, and they gave the beleaguered cook serving tables a ridiculous amount of sass.

This local dive was a let down! The vegetables were from frozen, the rolls were right out of the package--not even warmed up, the rice pilaf was from a box, the steak and prime rib had no seasonings--the mashed potatoes, and the prime rib were both cold.Waitress had not been trained. She carried the food out one or two little dishes at a time. Just about to take a bite of cole slaw and she says "I don't like cole slaw or cottage cheese." She also asked "how do you eat rice? I mean do you put your vegetables on it. I hear it takes a long time to cook."She did try to be nice, she was attentive.

Horrible food and service. You get what you pay for, so it's our own fault. 1. Didn't get items we ordered. If you get rolls, soup or salad don't expect to get them before your meal. When we asked about where these items were and she said we were suppose to tell her we wanted them before the meal. Umm, ok? 2. Then we ask for napkins and she never came back. We had to have another waitress bring it. 3. Food was nasty. Had the special. Prime rib, with cheesy potatoes and steamed vegetables. Prime Rib was ok at best. Cheesy potato was a big hashbrown ball with a slice of American cheese in the middle. My husband got freezer burn cod in the shape of trapezoid. Perfect if you love geometry! Our son got there house "favorite " the deluxe grilled cheese. It was Just a bunch of American cheese with three pieces if bread. 4. When we asked the waitress what happened to our rolls she said "oh, I forgot. I have a lot on my mind right now." - What's that got to do with our dinner? 5. When she brought the check (Which we paid with credit card.) she hovered over us while we signed the bill. Guess what? Just because you stand over us, doesn't mean we will give you a tip. You want a tip? Here's one: "learn a discernable skill, because waitressing isn't one of them".

Expect the "great tenderloin ", whatever that is in this area. I have tried other dishes expecting something good, that hasn't happened. Just stick with the tenderloin and the smallest amount of fries you've ever seen (if you actually count the fries you have on your plate, there's a problem) Don't expect to much
