Dal Makhani was undercooked. You could bite into the chana daal.Malai Kofta was probably cooked in old oil. The koftas had a weird taste and the gravy after the first bite was inedible. Too salty and no flavor.Palak paneer (forgot to take a picture) was also underwhelming. Paneer was old, hard and chewy. The palak was old too and the taste was devoid of the deep flavors it should have.Gulab Jamun, oh boy. These were probably sitting at the back for at least 2-3 months. It was hard, very cold from the inside (even though it was served warm) and just hard to cut through in some spots. Left it as is.Service is decent.

We went here with my wife and her business partner. We went early so we would have time to go to other events later. My wife and I had been eating here since the first week they opened about every two or three weeks. We had previously been pleased with the food and the service.Arrived at 6:10 PM on Saturday the 29? In April. We ordered four dishes and two appetizers.. We got a small appetizer then nothing else for an hour. We asked our server a half hour in when our food would come, and she said "soon"People seated after us were given their food.Half an hour later we asked for our check for the tea and appetizer (1) that had come. We politely expressed our displeasure at the wait and said we decided to leave..They said that the food would be out really soon, so we stayed. We had also noticed others seated near us were looking around, including several people waiting for " to go" orders. I spoke to one. And he said he had been waiting 45 minutes.I am a diabetic as is my wife's business partner. He quite faint and sick by the time the food arrived. It was very good as usual, and they, surprisingly comped our meal. The trick is I think is that the owner was not there. They were all new faces. If you decide to eat here anyway I suggest calling ahead and making sure the owner is on the premises. Previously every time we ate here before the owner was around.I hope they can turn around from this fiasco. We plan to try them again in, say, 2025. Late 2025.

This place was hella good. Very spacious. Had some chinese fusion dishes in their menu. Bathrooms were clean and plenty of parking in the back. The salty and sweet lemonade was pretty good!

It really makes a difference when an Indian place mixes their own spices. The korma and the curry wont taste like the same dish. The naan had a buttery crisp to it. So good.

I'm often driving on Hwy 522 and new signage caught my eye at the former location of Yu Shan. I decided coming back from Lake Forest Park to detour and check out, Indian Spice Bistro (9/22/23).I was warmly greeted and handed a menu which I perused in the reception area. I decided to go with fave baseline entrees to experience their versions of Lamb Korma, Lamb Tikka Masala, basmati rice, and Garlic Naan.I was able to chat with the gentleman at the host stand. He has been here for 1.5 years with previous stays in Bermuda and Bahrain, if I recalled correctly. Clearly resourceful having taken my order, dealing with a finicky POS system, and other phone orders all with a professional demeanor.I would have preferred to dine onsite, especially in a bright dining room filled with natural light. But with perishables in the car trunk on this warm sunny afternoon, I opted for takeout for this initial visit. While I was waiting, I was offered a refreshing glass of ice water served on a cloth lined tray. A nice and welcomed gesture. This spot is indeed new having had their soft opening last Saturday. I am amazed how vast the interior is, which I was told underwent a major renovation. They are awaiting their liquor license, so hopefully their bar counter area will be up and going too in the near future. The food was freshly prepared, piping hot, and nicely packaged for takeout, which was greatly appreciated. The accompanying basmati rice was generous for the two entrees ordered ($22 each). I enjoyed the Lamb Korma, creamy flavorful sauce with tender, succulent chunks of lamb. I tried a small piece of the garlic naan ($5), that too was spot on. Later The Homie, reported that he too enjoyed the Lamb Tikka Masala, basmati rice, and garlic naan. He especially pointed out that the garlic naan was "the real winner".We will definitely return to dine onsite. In addition, the menu piqued our interest about Indo-Chinese entrees also listed. Plus we'll have to try some chai and their dessert offerings.Indian Spice Bistro is located adjacent to Flo-Anna's and Botteco Brazil on Bothell Way, close to 145th at the Seattle - Shoreline border.Parking is located at the back of the building.A welcomed culinary spot in Shoreline!

So happy this place opened near us since I am very picky and find a lot of resturants in Seattle to be quite disappointing. However, I am being honest that I think this is the best Indian food I ever had. It might be one of the best Indian resturants in North Seattle.I had the goat curry with medium spice and it was the perfect spice but not too spicy level for me. The goat was wonderfully tender and flavorful. My husband who was afraid of Indian food got the butter chicken medium spice which was creamy and sweet. He ended up loving it as well. The garlic nan was warm and fresh. The mango lassi tasted like sweet ripe mangos. The basmanti rice was super fragrant and moist too.It had an extensive list of vegetarian meals too that I will have to try one day.Prices are high but the food was delicious and the service was great. Paul, our server, was very friendly and we really enjoyed talking to him.I highly recommend this place if you don't mind the cost. Definitely come here for truly delicious Indian food.

This is the best Indian restaurant in the area. The dosas are crispy and flavorful and the butter chicken and tikka masala are some of the best I've ever had. The service is extremely professional and the portions are actually quite satisfying compared to other Indian restaurants that short you on either protein or curry sauce. The food here is far better than saffron grill and competitively priced.

Absolutely delicious food, with a mix of North Indian and South Indian specialties on their menu. So far I have visited twice and tried four of their dishes: egg curry (rare to find), gobi manchurian (also somewhat rare, but more common than egg curry), dal makhani, and dosa. As a front note, the service at this restaurant is incredible. Both times I have gone (Nov '23 and Jan '24), I heard the owner checking in with other tables and they were raving about how good their food was. Good confirmation to how I felt with mine. On my second visit, the owner said 'welcome back' (I was surprised he remembered me) and made a point to introduce himself and ask my name.Starting with the dosa, it comes with a sizable portion of crispy dosa, cooked perfectly crunchy. There is also rasam, which I found to my liking: clear, slightly spicy, and with hearty root vegetables. Two chutneys accompanied it, a tomato based one and a coconut-cilantro based one with curry leaf. Both excellent to dip the dosa in. Dal makhani was ordered as 'spicy', and they delivered on heat - as well as savoriness, which contributed to it being a very flavorful dish. Gobi manchurian - not much to say on this, since I have had it only a handful of times. It was good, presented well, and had nice flavors. Egg curry - a unique one for the area, I enjoyed it but this was also the only time I have had egg curry from a restaurant. It seemed to have a lighter, coconut base and so did not leaving me feeling as full as other buttery Indian curries do. They are a relatively new establishment, so some things are still being worked out: staff are being trained, the liquor license is in progress, and decor is being improved. The other note I will say about this restaurant is that accessing it from the south is a little challenging - a u-turn on 522 is needed if not using an alternate route on residential streets.

Excellent addtition to the neighborhood (Lake Forest Park & Lake City)! Genuine and delicious Indian food--right here. Service people have always been very attentive in the restaurant, and takeout is on time, with hearty servings. We've been going back every week... Thank you!

Ate here yesterday for an early Mothers Day dinner -- I have been meaning to try it for some time now since it is in my neighborhood (I live about a 5-min drive away in the Sheridan Heights neighborhood) and have heard rave reviews via neighborhood word-of-mouth.Since we were a larger party (there were 8 of us-- my parents, daughter, sister, bro-in-law, niece, and nephew) AND it was Mother's Day I called about a week ahead of time and made a reservation for an early 4pm dinner. There really wasn't a need as there were plenty of empty tables and space for walk-ins when we arrived. By the time we left a couple of hours later, it was definitely more busy. Food:- My parents are vegetarian and opted to go the South Indian route- Aloo Masala Dosa, and the Vegetable Uthappa. They were happy with both. - My 14yo daughter eyed the Indochinese section and selected the vegetable fried rice, medium spice and unadventurously without the soy sauce. On our recent visit to India, she was digging the spicy flavorful cuisine so I'm not exactly sure why she went so low-key. But she enjoyed it and that's all that matters!- My 3yo niece and 7yo nephew split a Chicken Mango Curry (gora spice level = mild) and didn't complain. I tried a tiny spoonful and without the countering spice level, it was just sweet but great for the kiddos.- The non-vegetarian adult side of the table (me, sister, and bil) got an appetizer (Gunpowder Shrimp), an Indochinese item (Chili Chicken), and a Curry (spicy Butter Chicken, which is my barometer for every Indian restaurant I dine at for the first time). Everything was quite tasty but the Butter Chicken was (for all of us eating it) the best we've had in Seattle! It was clear that there wasn't any food coloring at play which is obvious at other popular local Indian restaurants which shall remain unnamed. Totally crave able!-Bread: There is a whole bread section to the menu, which was very much appreciated by me, and are at least 10 different types of naan, along with a couple different rotis, a kulcha, and paratha. This time we kept it classic but I am looking forward to making my way through this section of the menu over time :P. We started with 1 plain, 1 garlic naan and they are definitely smaller than other area Indian restaurants. The way to go is order more as you go since they came out quickly and steaming hot. My niece and nephew inhaled naan at a rate that necessitated ordering 2 more garlic naans over the course of the meal and one to-go for me to take with my share of the leftovers (about 4 shrimp/sauce and a snack-sized portion of butter chicken)- Speaking of leftovers, none of us are huge portion eaters and I felt all of the sizes were good - there was minimal leftovers to take.Drinks:I had heard before going that they didn't have their liquor license yet despite clearly having a full bar area from the previous restaurant, but I guess some permits have been granted - they had a separate menu for beer & wine. They also had some pretty interesting non-alcoholic drinks that looked interesting and I plan to try on a future visit (fresh lemonade soda, either sweet or salty; rose milk; chiknoo shake) but stuck to water with the meal and a masala chai at the end. My dad also got a masala chai, dd a coke, and sis and bil lived it up with wine or two each.Service:Excellent and the wife owner came over personally several times to ensure all was well- gracious, warm, and friendly. My only beef was that food was delivered all at different times with my parents waiting quite a long time for their dishes after everything else arrived. I can imagine that dosa takes longer to prepare and serve, but there was no disclaimer mentioned during the ordering process so it would have nice for the server to mention. Luckily, my parents weren't starving. All in all, two BIG thumbs up for the tastiness & quality of the food!!! Our total bill came to $234 including tax and rounding up slightly on a 20% tip. $30 of that was alcohol, so excluding that it was about $25 per person (8 people, 7 dishes and few non-alcoholic drinks)Definitely returning again asap!!!!
