Greatest fish market run by the greatest people. No matter where I live in San Diego, it's always worth the drive over. I typically order catfish filets without the breading + heavy seasoning - always taste great!

The City Heights location is where it's at! An old friend introduced me to IF. Soooo good! I tell everyone I know, that if they're in SD, they'd better check it out!

Amazing seafood! This place is a hood staple and has been around since as long as I can remember. I find comfort in coming here seeing the case with the fresh fish and having them fry it up on the spot! This time I ordered the three piece special with fries and Mac and Cheese Balls. All together $30 with a tip. Make it about $15-20 and I'll be here every week.

My husband's coworker bought him some fish one day and I tasted it and thought it was good. We went to the place and got a couple of plates. My husband went inside to purchase and stated the customer service was good. The place is like a meat market. The outside of the building and neighborhood does not deter you from the place. The food we got was ok. It wasn't as well seasoned as the one I tasted. Maybe we will try again. They have different food options so we will try those out as well.

I was craving fried fish and remembered this place. Read through the reviews and one in particular reminded me of the last time I visited this place. The pieces of fish were very flat and skinny... no "meat". The flavor was also lacking although I ordered the spicy flavor. The fish is almost like they filet a whole fish vertically instead of leaving it its regular thickness. It's flatter than a piece of bread. Wish there were other "you buy we fry" options in San Diego.

I was in this area alot when Huffman's Bbq was open. Looks like redevelopment is closing in. Big modern buildings are replacing the single family houses and little family owned businesses.In Imperial Fish Market you can either buy a pound or more of fish and pay $3 for them to fry it or you can order a basket with fries at the register. I wanted to try the fries so I ordered a 3 piece basket with fries. You can get regular fries or seasoned fries for 50 cents more. I picked the seasoned fries. Fries were crispy with a strong peppery flavor. Next time I think I'll go with no fries as the fish is what I'm really interested in.There is a very good selection of fish that are filleted and ready to fry. I picked the perch as I have not seen it available as fish and chips anywhere else in town. You can get this fish mild or spicy. I picked mild. Fish comes coated in a mild corn meal batter which tasted unseasoned. Mild flavor was a bit too mild as the perch was very mild flavored. My mom made a delicious perch dish where the perch was marinated in a soy ginger sauce and steamed. I don't like spicy food but I would like a third option like small amount of spice above mild.I like how there are tons of choices for what fish you want fried but Sally's Fish House is my favorite spot for fish and chips as they batter sea bass with the exact level of spice I love.

I Drove Here Thinking I'm Finna Eat GREAT, But Unfortunately They're Closed Due To A Fire .

I love to eat the jumbo shrimp it's one of my favorite but the fish is also good too the prices has went up over time but thats every business overall I recommend to come here when u need fish & shrimp

Normally food is great. I always get shrimp today not good at all. Greasy small bay shrimp fries greasy too. Threw that nasty sh@# away.

Loved it. I am not feeling u telling me how many characters I am limited to.Food is good while it's hot but not so good after that!
