This has been on the list for awhile. I really really wanted to love this more than we did. The food was delicious and the halibut confit and king salmon were standouts but nothing wow-ed. with the seasonal menu we will probably be back to give it another shot.

Place is my fav. On this Seattle food trip. It's Japanese and French fusion! I do feel it's more French than Japanese. The overall meal experience is well balanced and not rushed. Every dish I had was amazing! Starter: Cauliflower. The sauce is amazing! The grilled squid, Omgggg so good, squid is crispy outside and tender inside. The mid course - truffle risotto is a must try, I do feel like maybe it is because it's at the end of truffle season, the truffle was not that flavorful. For the main entree, we had the sea halibut, the fried rice is the best part!!! The beef cheeks is my fav!!! It's very tender and the red wine sauce just hits the spot! The dessert is one of my fav, desserts on this trip. I still think about it! Omg the yogurt at the bottom and the foam and Granny Smith apple at the top, it's not sweet, it is just right!! I would def come back here, also their view is amazing! Chef is also super friendly!

Best kept secret in Seattle. Absolute favorite neighborhood gem. Every course has a unique and beautiful flavor. The chef is fantastic and our server Hilda, was the stellar. Each time we come they make us feel so welcome and special. You will not be disappointed.

My new favorite cozy, romantic dining spot. French/Italian/Japanese fusion takes the subtle flavors from each culture to create unique gastronomic experiences. Pair yazu with creme fraiche or ponzu into a tomato demi glace, and you will feel as though you've traveled halfway around the world only to find yourself at home. Tempura black cod over risotto or mixed greens with goat cheese and shiso are Iconiq's version of comfort food. All of this in a Mount Baker location with a view that is an escape from the denizens of the hoity-toity downtown crowd. I'm only sharing this now, more than a year after discovering it, just so I could savor this spot before the Yelp masses descended. These days, just be sure to make a reservation.

Four of us had dinner a week ago. As ever, the food was epic. The service & hospitality again, matching the food. We had a chilled corn soup. Wow, I could bathe in that soup. We shared five dishes off both the starter and main menu. I would highly suggest a visit to this place.

How did it take me so long to finally visit Iconiq? It's been on my Yelp "restaurants to try" collection list for quite some time. A friend and I were able to get a reservation and visit on a recent rainy, windy Seattle evening. The city lights view from the windows was very pretty, but I'd love to see it again on a clear day. We had an early reservation and were the first table sat for the evening. After ordering a beverage and our meals, we were treated to an amuse bouche of mushroom soup that was really tasty. We both started our meals with the truffle egg (delicious). I ordered the scallops with Brussels sprouts and squash pasta and my friend had the iberico pork with polenta. Both were really yummy but I would have appreciated more than two scallops for the price ($34 + 30% tax/tip = $44). We were also disappointed that there was only one white and one red wine available by the glass. They were nice wines but a bit of variety would be good. Service was friendly, the food tasted oh so good, the views were amazing, and street parking was easy to find. I'll definitely be returning for another meal!

Iconiq. Just writing that word feels like a first draft of trying to invent a clever name for your business before you settle on something a little less transparently pretentious. "Welcome to iconi...Q." *groan* I have to be honest that it took me a while to make a reservation at this restaurant based on the name alone but reviews convinced me otherwise. Arriving at Iconi(q) tempered down the initial concerns I had. It's a pleasant enough space (if a bit spartan) where the kitchen is up front making the introduction. The main dining area has rather nice view of downtown Seattle although the eastern facing means the blinds will be drawn most of the time so the sun isn't searing your eyeballs (or, for most of the year, you'll be treated to Grey Town USA!) There's nothing particular striking about the interior design nor tastefully minimal as the Japanese influence of the menu would suggest but it's presented well-enough if to suggest the focus will be squarely on the food. For dinner we tried the following:* Yellow Corn Duo* Ahi Tuna Tartare Duo* Australian Truffle Risotto * Iberico Shabu Shabu* Ribeye with Italian Summer TruffleI also ordered a bottle of Junmai Ginjo. Over the course of the meal the sake really felt a tad unnecessary because none of the flavors of the food really stood out as having an overtly Japanese influence. Given the hearty nature of most of what we ordered I regretted not ordering a red of some sort. The starters were decent enough. The yellow corn duo was somewhat sweet with a lite yuzu flavor present in the mix; nothing to get too excited about. The Ahi Tuna flavor weighted far more heavily on the strawberry gazapacho in the mix, almost to the point of rendering the tuna as afterthought. Honestly it made me want the dish to be focused entirely on the soup, replacing the tuna with some other contrasting flavor and vegetables. So, the starters were fine but not that exciting to start the meal with. Then came the Australian Truffle Risotto as the mid-course. This was a very solid rendition of truffle-forward risotto dishes as was most welcome as a savory compliment to the lite starters. I basically inhaled this dish and wish I had about two more servings of it.Finally there were the beef and pork mains. Neither were particularly special or memorable I'm afraid, which was a sour note to end on. The rib eye was well prepared and presented but had almost no fat present in the cut nor was it enhanced by the sauce; it was kind of boring to be honest. Same was true for the iberico I'm afraid. This being said, the main criticism for the evening was the service. I don't know if the restaurant is understaffed, there's some part of their process that is inefficient, or both, but it took forever to be served. Our sake did not get to the table until twenty minutes of us being seated, and the total time we spent eating here was over 2 1/2 hours, most of it waiting for food. When our server did appear, he was pleasant enough but did very little in the way of explanation on the food nor engaged in any real pleasant back and forth with us; for a restaurant that strives to be iconiq with a Q, they're going to need to invest in some inconiq service. Overall this was a somewhat disappointing experience compared to what the reviews would suggest. Also, the cost of the meal was around 350 with tip which feels overpriced compared to overall quality received and when contrasted against other, cheaper fine dining evenings in Seattle. This being said, I usually knock off a half star from all Seattle Yelp reviews because, quite frankly, even today Seattle lacks the overall culinary footprint and gastronomical appreciation of other major metropolitan areas so a four star overall seems appropriate; I'm going to assume this was an imperfect night and a return visit could change my mind.

Superb food, lovely atmosphere. Excellent accommodating service. The chef is an absolute gem. This restaurant never disappoints. The wine list is expertly chosen. The desserts are imaginative and extraordinarily satisfying. I highly recommend this under the radar Bistro.

I love going to iconiq because the cuisine is utterly in alignment with my tastes. My partner heard about it through her parents who heard about it on a radio station (??). We went for our first time maybe a year or two ago and since then it's been a real hit. The food is simultaneously bold, creative, yet consistent. For example, I most recently went for the Valentine's dinner and one of the dishes was a scallop couscous salad that was extremely delicious. The scallop sashimi was placed atop the rolled couscous which contained very tiny, evenly cut apple cubes that added a hint of a sweet crunch to every bite of the salad. It just had a really good flavor combination and a heavenly texture. Even the aftertaste was up my alley. They do a truffle risotto that is really aromatic and pleasing, and I always enjoy their red wine + sake selection. Sometimes the chef likes to do different mousse-y creations on the seasonal menu and it's fun. The waitstaff is detail-oriented, meticulous, and they work really hard. I can't imagine how hectic it must be, making sure food comes out at the right time and tracking all the different moving parts in a restaurant where customers have such high expectations. The interior is cozy, clean, and elegant. The view out of the window is unexpectedly nice for its location. Really feels like a hidden gem. Parking in the neighborhood is easy. Looking forward to the next time I make a reservation.
