Ichi Roll Wok & Teriyaki

Yak 1st (Teriyaki 1st) was closed, so my homie says we gotta go here. He says that the chicken quality at 1st has been declining. He says, THIS might be the new champ.It's not. Not at all. But it's great, and ordering from the very kind and patient staff didn't make me nerve sweat and heart-seize like I have been for basically the past two decades when I do from 1st.So yeah, I recommend it. But it ain't the champ. Specific recommendation: Fried rice x Spicy Chicken x extra dressingsGyoza was meh.

Basic teriyaki and it's convenient as it's walking distance from my work. It's pretty much the same as you would get from other teriyaki spots in the area.

I'm updating my review because I recognize everyone deserves a second chance & realize I was unfairly critical of the new owner in my last review. I can only imagine how hard it is being in the restaurant business and should have waited before reviewing. I really do want to support small local businesses in the neighborhood & think the new owners are working hard to fill the big shoes left for them.I have since been back twice and had two really good meals. Extra teriyaki sauce so no chance of dryness this time :) Staff was friendly and even brought my food out to my car one time while I was waiting in my parked car! Above and beyond kind - thank you! Keep up the great work!

Very tasty! Fresh food and excellent service. I have friends who look forward to eating there every time they come to visit. I also love that it's within walking distance of my house.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - Chicken Teriyaki and Chicken Katsu. The chicken is so soft, tender, and juicy! Absolutely blown away by how yummy the food is despite its simplicity. The salad is simple but fresh and you can control the amount of dressing added. Very very generous with the amount of rice Ambience: N/A - ordered food to go. Cute shop with bright menu and simple decoration Service: 5/5 - super friendly and quick service even with the number of orders coming through online and the phone Value for price: 5/5 - huge servings, great food, amazing service. I've been jonesing for General Tsao's chicken for the longest! My old spot closed during the pandemic and sadly they never opened again. Ichi is a little gem of a place for take out or sit down. I prefer take-out. I usually order General Tsao's and had the Chicken Katsu once (it was okay). The GT Chicken is delicious - it reminds me of home in NYC. The price is awesome and the portions are generous. The only thing missing from the GT is the broccoli. Parking can be nutty if it's a busy time of day (it's a small parking lot on a busy corner). Also, some shady people sometimes hang out at night doing nothing in the parking lot (at least I witnessed this once).The staff is kind - I highly recommend this spot.

Great teriyaki place! Kind staff, fresh & tasty food, good portions for the price, and spacious inside seating. Came here on a Friday evening and the parking lot was a little stressful but all and all great dinner experience, definitely check them out!

Teriyaki is great service is exceptional and in the area best teriyaki. The spicy chicken is my go to cannot go wrong the chicken isn't dry it's succulent

Great menu! Love everything I've had here. Fair warning there the boba tea is more like a frozen blended tea with boba at the bottom. Not bad but not what I was expecting. My favorite dishes include either regular or spicy teriyaki and the chicken katsu. Their Ichi Roll sushi roll is huge and a fun appetizer to share. This is a local family run business and they work hard filling lots of online and phone orders while still helping walk-ins grabbing a quick meal. This is my go-to teriyaki in the Greenwood/Bitter Lake neighborhood.
