Ice Cream Social

Another Ice Cream Social location that opened and the last of the locations that I haven't been to yet. I remember living in the Central Neighborhood in Tacoma years ago and remember seeing a sign that an ice cream place called Ice Cream Social was opening on 6th Avenue. That location eventually closed but I was completely enthralled by all of their wonderful ice cream flavors. But the location in Ruston Point came along before the original location closed followed by the locations in the Proctor and Hilltop neighborhoods. I used to bump into the owner around town and when I visited the 6th Avenue shop and miss seeing her. She is always so very pleasant but wow what a booming business she has now as it's not unusual to have lines of customers out the door.The ice cream is as fantastic as ever as when I first walked into the shop on 6th. My visit to this location I had mocha flavored ice cream which hit the spot after having one last meal at the Zodiac Supper Club before their permanent closure.The space is fairly small like the other locations and so seating can go fast even not on a hot day but Ice Cream Social is definitely worth your time regardless of location and the best ice cream shop that Tacoma has to offer!

This is a cool shop. The flavors are spot on and you will definitely find one that suites you! After a short line I ordered a roasted banana single scoop. I wish there was something between than and a kids cup because the serving sizes are huge! The banana flavor was spot on. Perfect snack for a nice summer day!

The Valhalla coffee ice cream was SO good! Definitely recommend this clean and friendly shop that is full of personality

This was amazing! We are visiting out of town, and tried this place and amazing results! They had flavors that I really do not like such as passionfruit, but these guys made it delicious!

It's time for ice cream! I really wanted local handmade ice cream to help me get through my post-wisdom tooth extraction recovery period, and not too far from me was Ice Cream Social! (In fact, it's a few minutes away from my workplace...)I was attracted to the shop's fun, colorful decor, unique and classic offerings, and super cute merch. I ended up getting:* a split scoop ($4.25) of apple spiced caramel swirl and peppermint hot cocoa* a peppermint hot cocoa pint ($8)* a butter pecan pint ($8)Everything tasted delicious and it sure helped me get through the week ahead. I will have to say that the flavors aren't *super rich* though. The butter pecan tasted like vanilla with some toasted pecans, which was a slight letdown too.BUT now that I know of this place's existence, I might just make this my new spot after work. Looking forward to trying more flavors!

Best ice cream ive found in all of Tacoma!!! Creamy, rich, and so so sooo flavorful! I ordered the coffee ice cream and was completely blown away. Mouth watering just thinking about it right now. The serving sizes are huge!! I ordered a small in a cup and damn! The workers are super friendly and such a clean store.

The customer service is always amazing! They will let you try as many flavors as you would like before you make a selection and the cones are fresh. Depending on the time of day, parking can be a challenge.

Hands down, best ice cream in town. If you are visiting Tacoma, this ice cream shop is a must.

Wow too yummy. I can't believe how tasty. I tried like 5 different ones and I literally wanted to sample more but I decided on the banana brownie and salted caramel. They had super friendly staff! I'll be going back for more!
