Delicious! It was sub freezing in Seattle this weekend and my pipes froze...I didn't feel like making food once the water thawed so I visited Huong Que. The beef stew with rice noodles blew my mind, such a lovely combo of oils and flavors. I'm so glad I finally tried it. The wait was a bit long because everyone had the same idea on this cold day, and they only take cash, but it was worth it!

I likey likey... This place serves an authentic Vietnamese dining experience. The decor is bare but spacious. The menu is simple but enticing. We enjoyed our dining experience here, and really like the no frill, and eat your food and leave experience. Though they didn't explicitly say, i feel this place specializes on beef stew as there are a few menu items that serves this. The baguette is also really nice - crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. While everything were great, i do feel this place is a little on the expensive side given its location and decor, where the average price is about $14 to $19.

Food: 5/5 Price: 4/5Service: 5/5 We got the hu tieu nam vang (the seafood noodle soup) and beef stew with baguette. The baguette was fresh and warm where the crust was crispy and the inside immediately soft and chewy, and the beef was evenly flavored and tasty! The seafood noodle actually came with quite a bit of meat - very flavorful and full of umami. The portion size was perfect for both - not too much not too little. Typically I would give service a 4/4 but because it is better than your typical Asian hole in the wall I gave it 5/5 ;) Quick and polite and to the point and they offer free hot tea upfront like at dimsum. You can be in and out if needed. Very reasonably priced even compared to other hole in the walls and full of local Vietnamese people - very authentic. Will definitely be coming back for more!

My mom recommended this lil spot. You need to park in the back and you can go through the back door, then depending on how busy the restaurant is, it leads right to the "waiting line." Speaking Vietnamese is helpful but not necessary, though I do think it leads to getting your food faster (cause you can order while you are in line). I like that the menu is small so you don't have to agonize over what to get. Prices are fair and food is hearty. I ordered the beef stew with bread, lots of beef (chunks) and though a few were tougher to chew, some were pretty tender. I just wish there was some veggies in there, the stew was slightly sweet but had just enough saltiness to remind you that it's a savory dish. Bread came out hot and toasted. Restaurant is really clean and I saw workers changing gloves multiple times. Each table also has their own bottle of hand sanitizer. Cash only!

I love, love, love Hương Quê!! I go here with my mom almost every single weekend and the service NEVER fails!Their recipe is so authentic, it really takes me back to being 6-7 eating my moms homemade and it brings me so much joy when I'm craving for a hu tiêu fix. I recommend the bo ne too- steak & eggs, it's really to DIE for! The service is quick when there isn't a line out the door There's an entrance in the front street of MLK and the back door, in the corner of the plaza by Safeway! I arrived today at 9:00am- not too much traffic on a Wednesday morning & was given my usual: an iced tea - btw it feels so good to be remembered, she even brought it out without me asking! It' could considered hole-in-the-wall to some but this reminds me of the restaurants back in Vietnam. It's very homey and smells so good all of the time! The owner + her family are such sweet people and with South Seattle and most parts of seattle becoming extinct - it feels good to see that they are flourishing and in business, still.

This place is hole in the wall with the best Hu Tieu soup I ever had. They don't skip on the meats. I ordered a small bowl and it was enough. The broth was so flavorful. The soup broth was clear too. I can't wait to go back. They only accept cash.

The staff was nice. The space inside was a little small. But the food was so good!! The one that took me here said that they have the best hu tieu in Seattle. We got 5 bowls of hu tieu nam vang. The noodles are exactly the same with what we have in Vietnam. The broth was rich and flavorful. They also gave us a tea pot before the meal. Highly recommend!!

A family owned simple restaurant serving up some delicious sizzling steak and eggs! The menu is very simple with only a few items to choose from. They have perfected the sizzling steak and eggs dish. The toasted banh mi loaf that comes with the dish allows you to soak up all the juices from the steak and compliments it perfectly. Their Vietnamese iced coffee was very strong but delicious. The owners were super kind and provided wonderful service. The only downside was that the sizzling steak and eggs dish took about 30-35 minutes to prepare. We came around 9:30am on a Saturday and the restaurant was not busy when we arrived. Keep this in mind if you're in a rush. This is a cash only establishment.

CASH ONLY ESTABLISHMENT! But definitely worth the extra effort to just pull a little extra cash at the ATM before heading over.Super "hole-in-the-wall" place, I park in the spacious back lot and come through the back door instead of the front that's facing the street. This is the only place I know that serves bò né, sizzling steak and eggs served with crisssspy french bread! So I always make the drive when I am specifically craving this dish! I would have this dish so often for breakfast when I visit my family in Vietnam, so this always brings back good memories. Besides this dish, I would also highly recommend the hủ tiếu nam vang, which is a noodle soup that's more squid based with ground pork, pork bones, shrimp, quail eggs, and herbs - you can order with broth or dry (without broth). This soup is very hearty!
