Hungry Lu's Italian Deli & bakery

There were so many incredible choices. We ordered the grilled feta sandwich, a build your own turkey, and slice of pepperoni pizza... and cannolis. So delicious. The sandwiches were huge. The flavor of the grilled feta was so unexpected. I highly recommend. The cannolis were perfection. Counter service. Sidewalk seating or take out. OB is a very dog friendly neighborhood. Street parking is free. There are a couple spots in the front that have 15 minute limits.

Some of the best subs I've ever had. My dad is a pastrami lover and he admitted to it being one of the best. The pastrami was crispy and they were generous with the pickles. The worker (didn't catch his name) suggested I put spicy mayo on the Italian sub and he was not wrong. It was divine! 10/10 place for a sub. Friendly stage and good cuts.

Hungry Lu's is a great find if you're in the area!I popped in craving a cold turkey sandwich and was blown away by the quality of the meat and bread!Each bite was more delicious than the next and it's the best meal to grab and walk over to the beach to enjoy!The staff was accommodating to my requests and made the sandwich I had been dreaming of that day without hesitation.The shop is a small walk-in, so grab-and-go is the name of the game! Very happy I decided to stop in and will be returning in the future for those exceptionally fresh ingredients!

Honestly 5 stars for a few reasons. Simple menu and delicious sandwiches are the main reasons. Having lived on the east coast and north east coast this vibe felt spot on. The sandwiches weren't even the main event ! Their baked goods were just as worthy of the 5 stars. Highly recommend after a long hot beach day grabbing a sandwich here, the portion size will be just as pleasing as taste.

8 years later & still amazing!! Fast service. The best bread! The sandwich combos are amazing! They do pizza now too I haven't tried it yet but it smelled delicious !! The same great ambiance deli with old school love & Italian flare!! I love it here.

Ordered the Sicilian and the Italian. Very big and delicious sandwiches but we do recommend you eat them shortly after ordering for best enjoyment. Saved half for dinner and the roll was super soggy. While you're in the shop, do yourself a favor and order some cannolis or pastries for a sweet treat.

Great find; taste of local community. Food is delicious; service was fast. Food was better than I expected based on store front and location. Was worth the walk; I will return.

We ordered a hot Italian sub and a macaroon with chocolate. It was amazing! Service was friendly and helpful and fast.

We've been coming here mostly for the bakery items for a few years. The cannoli, cookies, coconut macaroons, and the chocolate drop cookies are fantastic! However, the availability of the drop cookies (small cookies with a dollop of chocolate in the middle) is not consistent, and they are our favorite! You have to be lucky or call ahead to check. The subs are great, and the pizza slices are decent. For us, the stand-out really is the bakery.

Hungry Lu's simply does not miss. I have tried several of the sandwiches and I'm over the moon every time. The hot roast beef isn't on the menu online, but it's my favorite. The cannolis are also insane. They recently expanded their hours and I'm delighted so I can go for dinner too. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They're also very quick - never wait long for food. It's mainly a grab and go type of place, as are many places in OB, but there's a few nice tables and chairs outside that you can sit at too.
