Hunan Garden

I simply cannot recommend this to anyone. Egg rolls were clearly pre-made and frozen. Jack in the Box has better...for cheaper. The house chow mein was terrible. Think Panda Express, except more bland and sprinkled with a little hate for good measure. The Princess Chicken (their clever name for Kung Pao Chicken) was possibly a violation of the Geneva Convention. It was...wrong. like, maybe one time someone described it to them, but they'd just smoked some heroin so they forgot most of it. But they tried anyway. I actually threw all of this away. Literally threw away 37 bucks worth of what I very loosely describe as food. The one star is for the service. Nice lady at the counter was very sweet.

Food is so so, the service is horrible and rude. When we started ordering, the lady kept telling us no. She flung the food on our table....we weren't the least bit rude, though I was biting my tongue.

I went about 3pm. At first, I was the only patron. The waitress was very nice. She suggested Chardonnay when I asked about wine. I hadn't eaten lunch and I didn't want to spoil dinner. She was helpful when I said that I had been there before and wanted what I'd had then. The food came surprisingly quickly. I had the green beans with pork and a small side of rice. The restaurant was quiet and clean.

Terrible, look at this photo of lunch special. For $12 they cheapen the portions... waste of money for Chinese lunch special! First and last time i will come here. I recommend you look for another chinese place.

I don't think there is any decent Chinese food in the Lakewood area unfortunately.I would say if you lived near this restaurant the best thing to stick with are their soups and fried rice plates.I am not a fan of their chow meins or their main entrees. Very subpar.

Ate here once a few years ago and I had forgotten why I didn't return. We recently decided to order again to try and support this local establishment and this second experience reminded me of why we didn't come back.We ordered the walnut prawns (which came with canned peaches and canned pineapples), fried rice, and spare ribs and they were all terrible. The three dishes came out to $4x.xx. I forced myself to eat the walnut prawns just because it was overpriced and was the most expensive dish of the three. We ended up tossing most of the spare ribs just because it tasted odd.

I am so very sorry to learn they are out of business. Since I moved here I have enjoyed the calm ambience and, to me. Very nice and well presented dishes Good luck to you all

My girlfriend has been going here since she was a kid, and a few years ago she took me here for my first time.I will always come back to this place as one of my top restaurants. Everything is delicious, but the sizzling rice soup is my favorite, and I believe her favorite too. I've also tried their hot pot and all the veggies and meat was delicious.Their water also tastes fine, which to me is very important. When a restaurant has nasty tasting water, I'm always put off.The service is always very lovely and attentive, but they don't constantly come by asking you questions either.Overall it's a very cozy and comfortable place with pretty decor and lighting and reasonably priced tasty food. If you've ever considered trying out Hunan Garden, I whole heartedly recommend it.

Great food, service and convenient location. Sizzling rice is the best!! Love the pot stickers and house chow mien.

There are items on the menu made with family recipes. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. The restaurant is clean. The Hot Sour soup is the best I have tasted and my new favorite is their sizzling Rice soup. Plenty of parking.
