When best subs in Chicago comes up, Humboldt House is never listed but don't sleep on these sandwiches! It's my favorite Italian Sub. Right there with Bari! Bread is perfect and ingredients are always fresh! Check it out!

The first time I ordered here, I loved it. You can probably see my previous review below. The second time I ordered, I forgot to add banana peppers to my sandwich and it was extremely bland. This time, I straight up did not like my sandwich even though it's the same one I got the first time. We paid $40 for 2 sandwiches because we were lazy and got delivery. Included in that cost was an extra $3 for banana peppers and we barely got any. There was also barely any meat on the sandwich and it just wasn't my favorite. Unfortunately I don't think we will be ordering again unless we actually walk to the store and there's a good special going.

Place definitely have room for improvement and CAN be a staple of the community but as far as their customer service...... highly trash. The food is sub-par and maybe I'm being bias because the customer service was soooooo bad. Only thing saving this is the liquor store next door.

This sandwich shop never disappoints!! Hands down my go to sandwich fix for love or any sub craving! The beast and the haus Turkey sub is my fav, add the garlic Mayo, it's amazing. The servings are huge, they're not cheap on the meat. It's worth every Penny. The west sider and the Italian are also great! Pasta salad is pretty good but the subs are all stars! However skip the chips. This dirty brand potato chips are bad, the flavors all suck and a waste of money. Better off walking down to the corner store for a bag a chips.

This is a great sandwich shop! I've had it delivered at work before but finally stopped in and checked out the place itself. The sandwiches are tasty and made fresh. It's definitely a no frills restaurant as it's attached to a liquor store. It's not necessarily a place I'd want to hang out at other than to eat. They do have a bar with beer though!

I've ordered from here a good amount of times, never had a bad sub. The Monster Sandwich is great, the Rueben is excellent, and their Italian is spot on. Love it with the hot giardinera. They serve Dirty brand chips, have a good assortment of pop, smaller soda companies and also alcoholic drinks as well. This spot is connected to a liquor store and to be honest, I love that shit. It's a nice touch and they also have seating outside facing Humboldt Park as well. It's no frills and the staff is nice. One of the best parts about this place is the fact you can get a meal for $15-20 and be full. Also, I noticed a "stale" bread comment in a review. I've never had that and I've ordered from here plenty of times. Their bread is pretty good, it's a little more firm and it's like a crusty French bread, a nice break from the soft sub roll sandwiches at other spots. Not denying that person's experience, I just never had that issue myself. I give it Five stars, easy, nothing bad to say about Humboldt Haus. It's a nice little spot with great sandwiches.

Sandwiches were excellent!! Ordered online for delivery and was delivered within 20 min. Order was packaged nicely and the sandwiches looked as good as they tasted. Perfectly balanced ingredients with a proper bread. Simple and amazing. 10/10 will do again!
