Service: I'm so sorry I couldn't remember her name but she was just the sweetest and nicest waitress, which made my experience so memorable. Bottomless mimosas came out very shortly after we ordered and food, maybe like 10 minutes laterAmbiance: it's a really small spot, like pretty small where tables were too close that if I had to use the restroom, I'd have to excuse myself from my table and the one next to us. It was difficult getting in and out!! It's really small inside so I guess that's to be expected. Food: I got the hacienda meal with French toast, bacon omelette, spicy sausage, fruit, and potatoes. The "fruit" was just a slice of honeydew. The food, in the moment, was really good (but this totally also could've been because we were tipsy from bottomless mimosas, which were only $15!). I want to mention that my friends and I all had stomach pains the next day... not sure if it was the food here but it was the only food we all had. Regardless, I'd come back just for the mimosas because you just cannot beat that price!

Service isn't the greatest but they have bottomless mimosas for $15 and amazing birria tacos! Definitely worth a stop for the tacos and drinks. Sit on the patio for great people watching.

First time having Mole at it was here. It was a chicken mole it was yummy! I got a Horchata and Margarita Jamica,I got a shrimp enchilada also. My favorite was the fundid which was cheese and charizo. So yummy amazing ! The Birria tacos were some of the best tacos I've had in the USA. Tasted just live Mexico. Plenty of seating inside and the service was great! Definitely coming back here !

So good. Great atmosphere outstanding food. We have heard it's great but haven't made it out. First timers took the recommendations of server. Chilaquiles, shrimp Benemex (mexican Benedict) and birria tacos. All were great. I liked the shrimp benemex the best though. A thin torta bread instead of an English muffin. Sauce on top was amazing. Endless mimosas and tasty margaritas. See you again soon.

I've been a very happy customer of Huapangos for a very long time now, and I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. The staff is very friendly, and the owners (JT and Viri) are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. Their food is outstanding! Some of my favorite dishes are the carnitas, lobster quesadilla, ceviche - and their breakfast is outstanding too. The people watching is always interesting, and you can feel the positive energy when you eat there. Very highly recommended!

This is a great spot in Hillcrest to visit if you're looking for Mexican-style brunch or bottomless mimosas. The service here is super friendly and the portions are great. I definitely recommend Lola's Hangover Chilaquiles if you can handle spice!

The service here is incredible. I came for my birthday with a group of 20 people and they took such great care of all of us. They made us feel so at home and the food was amazing. The owner introduced himself and we chatted awhile. I came back with friends at least twice after that within a month. such a good spot :)

To be fair- it was Father's Day and we were waiting for a table at another restaurant when we passed by Huapangos and thought, this is a really cute restaurant, eh it's breakfast-anyone can do that. Disclaimer: I feel bad writing this review, but it keeps coming to my mind how bad the experience was every time Yelp asks for a review. I can only hope this will help for improvement. To start, we were seated right away and were told a high chair would be brought to our table and we never got it. Because it took over 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order, we just left my son sitting in a regular chair. Others were seated and we continued to wait for our drinks as we saw other parties receiving chips and salsa and their drinks. Odd, but again we are very patient. Finally our coffee was brought and the waiter never asked if we'd like cream or sugar. So we went ahead and called him over for some and he then took our order. We waited over 30 minutes for our food and the order was wrong. Being the patient people that we are we just figured they're understaffed and it's a busy day. They took our food back and brought it back and it was still wrong. I tried to eat the chilaquiles with carne asada but the taste was bland and just overall not pleasant. I hope this can help more for the staff and back end of the restaurant. There's potential but maybe not on a busy day/holiday.

Finally got around to trying this place out and let me tell you it's an easy skip...Service was very slow, got our chips 25 mins after getting seated and a few mins before our actual food came.Food is nothing special and very expensive (average plate is probably $25+)Pros:-Water tastes really good-Their habanero salsa (you have to ask for it) is actually somewhat spicy and flavorful -aesthetic of the inside Cons:-very expensive for bland food-slow slow sloooow serviceThere are much better options in the area. Check out Los Panchos around the corner for a much better experience. La Puerta in Mission Hills is also much better for a similar price point. If this was in Ohio or Colorado I'm sure some would consider it to be the best Mexican food ever but with other cheaper and more flavorful options in SD, this place is forgettable. Pass
