HP's Smokehouse BBQ

If you see this food truck STOP! The brisket is melt in your mouth tender and the potato salad is really flavorful (dill pickle forward). The mac & cheese is super tasty, the 3 year old loved it and so did the adults.

I found HP's Smokehouse BBQ food truck at Juanita Beach Park, and the food smelled delicious. Therefore, my boyfriend and I decided to try it for lunch and it wasn't too shabby. The BBQ was fine, yet it needs some tweaking. We ordered the ribs, cornbread, pulled pork sandwich and the sweet potatoes. Of all the food we ordered I liked the ribs the best. The meat was perfectly smoked and tender, so it's a shame that it's slathered in so much BBQ sauce. I'm a believer that if BBQ is good, then you don't need sauce to jazz it up, especially when it's slathered on. It only distracts from the true beauty of this dish, the meat. Such was the case with the pulled pork sandwich. Pork wasn't bad, but it had way too much BBQ sauce on the meat. Cornbread was sweet, and tasted like dessert. I'm allergic to cinnamon, so couldn't have the sweet potatoes. But my boyfriend said that it was definitely on the sweeter side since it was loaded with cinnamon. The food just seemed to have so much unnecessary sauce and/or seasoning on it, which took away from how good the dishes really were.It's nice to have this truck at Juanita Beach Park, an area you can spend all day in, so getting a meal here is convenient. But, I think the food would be even better without all the additional toppings and such.

I loved the hotlink and pulled pork sandwich. Just the right amount of spicy and sweet. For my side, I chose the coleslaw and it was a perfect match for my sandwich! Definitely looking forward to my next meal with HP!

The HP's Smokehouse BBQ food truck was a huge hit at our company celebration! Stanley and Nicole were both wonderful and the food was juicy, delicious, and great portion size for our construction crew! I highly recommend them to spice up your next party; fun for your guests, great food, and affordable pricing! Get ALL the sides, you will not be disappointed :).

I had the brisket, with a side of slaw and an order of baked macaroni and cheese. The brisket was tender but lacking in smoke. Moist enough but was sitting in sauce. Sauce was actually ok, but meat tasted reheated for $15, Chuck. Slaw was average. Not remarkable. Baked MAC and cheese for $6.00 small container is a solid ripoff. There really isn't anything to say about overcooked pasta in congealed cheese. Well I would like to say I hope that fad dies ASAP. All in all I paid $21. I'm torn between I want my money back and 2 stars. I went with 2 stars and not looking back. I think food TV needs to get off the food truck bandwagon .

Went to their food truck at a local farmer's market. I got the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad side. This is easily some of the best BBQ in Seattle. Pork was moist without being fatty, sauce has a nice smoky-sweetness to it (closest to a Kansas City style sauce in my opinion) and the amount added to the sandwich was perfect- it was enough for good flavor but not so much that it overwhelmed the pork flavor. The potato salad is very pickle-y which I liked but if pickles aren't your thing, probably best to choose another side. Portions were also perfect for the price point. Would definitely go here again.

I was drawn in at the end of a long day by some enthusiastic sign twirling and I'm so glad that drew me in. The owner, who's name I totally, regrettably, forgot to get, was super friendly, honest and exactly the type of person you'd want to be serving BBQ. I ordered a pulled pork, hot chick, spicy link and mac & cheese and it was allllll delicious. Typically I'm not a huge fan of BBQ sauce, but this was perfectly spicy/sweet/savory and the meat was perfectly cooked. GET THE POTATO SALAD AS YOUR SIDE IF YOU LIKE POTATO SALAD. I cannot emphasize that enough. She wasn't kidding when she said "I make a pretty good potato salad". It should be offered as a main dish..... Bottom line, if you're craving BBQ and come across this truck you won't be disappointed. Extra points for the minimal, compostable packaging!!

The absolute best pulled pork and beef briskit. My family's ever eaten, sides were very good as well. Delicious corn bread, potato salad and cole slaw. We will definitely be looking for this food truck again. And the friendly service didn't hurt.

17 dollars for 3 tiny slices of barely warm brisket and literally the smallest side I've ever seen.I'm not a big eater, but this was little more than a snack by anyone's standards.17 dollars, plus tax.. Plus a charge to pay by card. Outrageous.20 minute wait and only 3 people ahead of me.Q: "Do you have any drinks?".A: "Nope".Later see him handing someone a can of soda with their meal.My girlfriend chose an adjacent thai food van and had literally three times the quantity of food I had for much less, and although she ordered hers after me, had the order straight away.. Since seeing that they use a microwave to reheat everything, I now know there's absolutely no way this was reheated to an adequate temperature and had then come down in temperature to what I was eating.Unfriendly, slow staff who clearly did not want to be there.Really pretty surprised at the good reviews. I felt ripped off, hungry and had to go to another truck anyway to find a soda..Avoid.

Great Barbecue especially from a Franklin High Graduate. My family and I finally got some good barbecue on the Eastside.Thank youGarfield High Graduate '85.
