Howlin’ Willy’s Hot Chicken

E X P E R I E N C E I placed the order online. it said it was ready in 18 mins. i got there within 10 mins and when i went in person to pick up, it was ready. this is great because they're quick but not , because now my food is sitting and cold F O O D sandwich, fries, medium spicy: when I had initially opened up the box, the sandwich look sad as hell. bread was deflated. looked oily. chicken looked thin and small. Cole slaw was minimal. there were like two pickles. but then two bites in, oooof. okay girl, I see you. wow, am I impressed. the portion size is small imo. for reference, I can eat an in n out double double and neopolitan shake, and im 70% full. I can eat mcdeezies 20 nug, oreo mcflurry and a med fries, and be 80% full8pc wings, Mac n cheese, hot spicy: ooooh she's spicy! the mayo based sauce reminded me of zaxbys sauce. its okay. the chicken is so good; theres no need for saude. Mac was cooked al dente. it looks nasty but it tastes amazing! cheesy and chewy. downside- super oily.that fried chicken is juicy. the skin tastes like lays! it's so crunchy and the numbing spice is perfection. the chicken is a contender to scovilles and hattie b's, not gonna lie. only thing is that it's really oily but still, dang I'm definitely coming backI N S I D Elots of seating available. 4 seater tables, mostly booths interior is renovated and looks decent. gives me Chipotle vibes L O C A T I O N in the trader Joe's shopping center so plenty of parkingP R I C E 22

The food was really smelly so I don't order anything they had fries only when it came to vegan options the people working were rude as hell I was able to get a drink but it wasn't enjoyable because they weren't nice improve everything

Not hot chicken. Small tenders. Staff was awful. I've ordered Hattie B's at least 100 times. Have had lots of hot chicken. This place is right next to my house so I was hoping they had good hot chicken too. The chicken tenders have no wet coating. They are simply sprinkled with pepper powder. I got the hottest. It's just ghost pepper powder- no flavor. No sugar or other spices traditionally in hot chicken. Eating straight ghost pepper isn't hot chicken. On top of that, the tender was paper thin. I'm talking less than a half inch thick... what? Staff is comical. Girl at counter tonight- I went in being nice and asked how their hottest flavor compared to hattie b's- she had no idea what hattie B's was. She could give me no details on flavor. I advise educating the staff on what hot chicken is. There was only one person waiting on a chair before me. One girl at counter. I ordered tenders, fries, and coleslaw, and two ranches. We both wait 10 minutes. A couple comes in after that and orders. The only girl at the counter, who took the orders, brings a bag to the couple who ordered 1 minute before. She comes back and gets the order and says wrong person. It sits for a minute and then she comes to me and asks if I had the 8 wings. No. There was only the one other guy waiting, and she didn't put 2 and 2 together- instead, he had to approach and repeat his order- it was his. Then I get called to counter after 15 min and they say they just ran out of coleslaw. Lol. I say you can't eat hot chicken without coleslaw, and didn't see a decent replacement. They tried to give me broccoli salad. When I showed irritation, they suddenly said they did have coleslaw... I get my order, go home, and see they didn't give me any dips- I ordered ranch. Ridiculous. The hottest peppers with no dip. It was this final act that made me leave this review. Careless staff should be replaced with people who know what they are serving and can do the simplest tasks. - No blue cheese (at a hot chicken and wing place- silly. Same girl had to ask the cook in back. Really? She doesn't remember they don't serve blue cheese, never been asked that before at a wing spot?)- Coleslaw was like soup. Gross. - Fries were great- thinner crinkle cut. But I don't eat hot chicken for the fries. I'll never be back.

Being from Malibu CA we love Mexican and my husband loves fried chicken sandwiches we found a match made in heaven and may I say they have amazing margaritas too!!! Mango strawberry and regular lemon lime ... here on a movie but whenever off work we walk our 3 miles there and back so that we can enjoy this yummy place !!! The employees are super cool and accommodating!!! Go check it out...

Absolute best chicken sandwich around - and yes I am including Popeyes. Y'all can take the taste test yourselves. The people that work here are so friendly - remember my order every time! Right at the park.

So I just discovered that Willy's has hit chicken now. Literally found out yesterday. I made my way to midtown to try it out. The restaurant is at piedmont park attached to the original Willy's. There's 2 separate entrances. The food is made to order. The manager/cashier was super friendly. She asked me to do a review. I was more than happy to oblige. The salad is yummy. The chucks of chicken with the fresh veggies is GREAT. Next time I'll ask for the Cole slaw on the side and no bacon bits. I ordered an extra tender and 1 wing to try. Very flavorful. I prefer the tenders though. All in all a great way to break my fast.

Omg this place had some delicious chicken it makes Hattie B's look stupid Their Mac and cheese was a lot of oil it's a little gross but those chicken wings made up for itPlus the waitress was super sweet. Hats off to her !!

The staff here is amazing, so friendly and welcoming! Especially, Queen who took our order. The food is great too!

Just had the salad with Tenders. Our biggest fear yet expectation has occurred. They put a lot of Tenders on the salad in the beginning and just as we thought but hoped would not happen they are chincing on the chicken now. If I go back I will have to order an extra chicken finger to have enough. Please do better!

We loved Howlin Willy's! My kids tried kinda hot, my husband tried sweet heat, and I had Willy hot. All great!
