Best breakfast sandwhich in chicagoland. nice people, good coffee. nothing fancy (including price) and everything is tasty. Been going for 6+ years. (add lettuce, tomato, mayo -- for blt breaky sam - best best best!)

This is such a fantastic hidden gem with amazing, affordable food. The breakfast sandwiches are my favorite. I definitely recommend getting it on a croissant with giardiniera with an extra kick. I've also tried some of the Asian food and it's phenomenal as well. The owners are the sweetest people and the restaurant has a nice and cozy vibe.

Went in for a breakfast sandwich and it did not disappoint. The prices are great, and the service is quick. Plus it seemed like a family owned business and I am down for keeping as many of those around. The sandwich was good, and it seems like it would be perfect for breakfast after imbibing too much the night before. I also had the hash browns, and those were a bit greasy but like I said, the best hair of the dog you can of. I have to say that I am very impressed with the packaging of the food. We ordered to go and everything was individually wrapped. My OCD heart was very happy.

Other reviewers talk about how unique this place is, and seriously... it's unique. It's like a time capsule of a time that never happened. A classic American hotdog / hamburger joint with a surprising addition of items like egg rolls on the shockingly inexpensive menu. Everything feels a little old, and dated... from the slightly peeling outdoor signage, to the yellowing backlit menu board, but like I said, it feels like a time capsule. It's a good feeling. Embrace it. The restaurant itself is REALLY clean. You can tell from the freshly mopped floors to the sparkling flat top grill. Next up, the Bi Bim Bap. Wait, what? As the sign in the window proclaims, yes they serve Bi Bim Bap, along with breakfast sandwiches "all day" (they close at 3pm) to burgers and doggies! And it's not 1/2 bad, considering things are mostly pre-cooked and finished to order. The Bi Bim Bap was pretty darn delicious, topped with a freshly griddled egg and the price tag was absurdly low. The lack of freshness is made up in the price.The hotdog and fries I picked up for a friend were also super inexpensive and I've been told, were reasonably good. Three stars for crazy quick service, cheap prices and eclectic lunch menu.. I've been driving by this place every day for over a year and regret not trying it until today.

Hound Dogs has become my new favorite local spot. At first, I kept going back for the breakfast croissant sandwiches, which are delicious, cheap, and filling. Not to mention the croissant is nice & flaky. But now that I've had the Bulgogi sandwich, I'm in there almost every other day. It's one of the best sandwiches I've had in the city, and the bread it comes on is fresh. It normally comes with lettuce, but I feel that the lettuce is unnecessary, so I get it without. If you're not in the mood for a sandwich, the Bulgogi dinner with white rice is amazing as well. Great prices on the beverage selection as well. I've also just tried the cheeseburger for the first time, and if you're in the mood for a proper classic "American" style burger, Hound Dogs will not disappoint. Perfect burgers! I can't emphasize this enough -- eat the Bulgogi sandwich! It's a gem of the city. Hound Dogs forever.

This is a good spot, especially for breakfast. The restaurant was already busy when I went in there to grab something for breakfast. I knew that there would be a long wait, but it was not really that long because even though there was a line at the counter, it was moving pretty fast and the food was really quick. The restaurant is clean. They have a very nice selection on their menu. I just basically got their sandwich croissant. My friends also actually recommended this fast food restaurant and told me to get their sandwich croissant, so I did. I specifically got the bacon and egg sandwich croissant. It was reasonably priced. It tastes delicious. The croissant was very fresh; all of the ingredients were actually fresh. It is so simple, but it tastes delicious. The portions were also good. That was definitely a good sandwich. It is also a nice quick spot for breakfast. They have a wide selection on their menu that is quite interesting, so I will probably go back and try other foods on their menu. Their sandwich croissant tastes good, so I am hoping that the other foods on their menu taste good too.

Happened in here craving a breakfast sandwich and the crew at Hound Dogs did not disappoint! My partner and I each ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on white bread - $8 total. Now that's a great breakfast for two in Ukrainian Village, and I should mention that it hit the spot. Support these folks over your Dunkin breakfast usual. Hound Dogs is a great spot for an inexpensive sandwich. Looking forward to revisiting and exploring the menu more.
