Hot! Definitely hot in all the right ways. My son found this spot for us when we'd just arrived in town for a visit. It's a humble little restaurant with delicious home cooking without MSG - thank you for that! We dined at an outside table and shared:Vegetarian Pad ThaiPanang Chicken Steamed RiceEverything was fresh and delicious - and came out really fast. Service was friendly and attentive, like they cared that we enjoyed the food, which we did. If I were local, this would be a regular hot hot hot spot for me.

Lovely Thai food restaurant with unique dishes. We love both their Tom Yum and Tom Ka soup as well as other menu items. I picked up a large Tom Yum for lunch today . it has plenty of lovely enoki mushrooms and tender chicken . My husband will be happy that he has have to soup as a leftover.

I'm convinced Hot or Not has the best Thai food in San Diego. We came on a Thursday night (02/15/2024) and it was relatively empty. There's no parking lot but there's tons of street parking outside. The gentleman working there was so nice. I got the Crispy pork with basil sauce and my husband got the pad Thai with beef. The crispy pork was everything I could have hoped for! Medium spicy, lots of crispy pork (they definitely did not skimp out on the pork here) and lots of onions and bell peppers and it came with a side of rice. Food came out so fast and it was sooo delicious omg. And my husband loved his pad Thai! We also got two orders of Thai tea to wash down our food. Definitely recommend this place. 10/10

Service is quick and the food is great. I've never sat down and ate at the restaurant so I can't speak to location ambiance. I am a repeat customer because of the fried rice. Some of the best in PB!

Food was great and it came out really fast. The place is small and the inside seating smells strongly of food, which is understandable considering how small the place is. They do have two tables outside which are nice. Waiter was so nice and attentive. The cream wontons were delicious and had much cream cheese. The halibut panang curry was fishy and spicier than I would've thought considering it was mild. Overall, great place, especially when you're craving Thai takeout.

I thought this was a ghost kitchen when it first popped up on the delivery apps, because of the name. Thankfully years of Yelp photos showed me this spot is legit. We loved our order! Starting with the Tom kha- loaded with mushrooms and chicken! Often restaurants will be skimpy with chicken, but not this spot! We shared the pineapple fried rice and pad see ew. Both were excellent as well. Much better than some of the other local options, although not as incredible as some of the top Thai I've had in SD. For a neighborhood option when we just want to feast in our pajamas- it's top tier. We ordered our dishes either mild spice or medium spice. Medium was perfect to get our noses running a little without overpowering the dish. We were glad to have something mild to sooth our palate every few bites. Everything was great, we'll definitely order from here again!

Hot or Not ThaiKhao Soi - 3.5/5Tom Yum Ramen - 3.7/5 Chicken Pad See Ew - 4.0/5Crisp Garlic Crab - 3.7/5Overall this place is a solid option for neighborhood to-go food. The interior isn't that large and it isn't the cutest, though the service is very kind and quick. The portion sizes are above average for the price (though the protein portions are small compared to the mountains of noodles). We came here for the Khao Soi and it was okay. I had to ask and add lots of lime and chili to get the flavor right (it was too salty and not sweet enough at first - strange combo). As someone who spent time in northern Thailand i was looking the traditional version of this dish. I WISH they used pickled mustard greens in their version of this dish! To me skipping out one the pickles is a huge mistake, but for $13 is not a bad deal. Worst Khao soi I've had - so @veganicthaicafe still reigns supreme. The other menu items had good portion size, so I'll be back to sample some other items like the Rib Eye Panang or BBQ ribsGlad it is close to home as these cold nights demand hot noodles!

Always nice employees, always get to-go here and food is great but definitely 2 tiers higher on the spice scale than other Thai restaurants around PB. Usually quick

I wish I took pictures of the food. It was my first time coming to this place. I had take out. The person who I was on the phone with had was sweet. We cackled because I said "beef panang curry with chicken" lolThe beef panang curry was SOOOO GOOD. I'm so picky about my currys! This was a 10/10! My boo got a pad see ew and was very satisfied. OH AND THE COCONUT SHRIMP WAS SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!! The person working there told me they have an app for takeout.Would definitely go here again!Actually I think I will get it again tonight. lol
