Maybe I wasn't wasted enough so I just don't get it, but I did stop by for a dawg. It's been a while since I've hung out for a late night bender in Ocean Beach and noticed the cart when it was around the corner from Winstons Beach Club. This time it was in the parking lot across from The Joint and a few paces from The Harp and Pacific Shores.As the only hot dog cart in the area, it's a no-brainer. There aren't any alternatives along the sidewalk, other than maybe driving to the Jack in the Box down the boulevard or track down a taco shop nearby, but that's still too far for the usual hungry zombie shuffling down the sidewalk or for bar patrons that just closed their tab out.My Costco sensibilities say I shouldn't pay more than a buck-fifty for a plain hot dog, which includes a soda pop. There are a variety of specialty dogs, sausages, and vegan tofu dogs on the menu, with pricing between $2.25 for a plain turkey dog and $4.75 for a loaded dog. Unfortunately, the bacon-wrapped TJ danger dog is not on the menu. There is also an assortment of condiments to fully dress it up. Thumbs up for the Sriracha. The barbecue and hot sauces in unlabeled squeeze bottles are also good to try. Soft drinks to wash it all down are sold separately for $1.I had the OB Special. It was meh; not great. My gripe is that it was served up cold. I don't think any part of it was even warmed up. I've had dirty water dogs and grilled dogs, where they've been cooked and served hot. Maybe the propane tank was empty or they forgot to light it, but I thank my iron stomach for not suffering any illnesses.The relative easy to find location, late night snacking hours, and good customer service are all winners, but getting a Cold Diggity Dog is such a bummer.

Omg this place is so good. The vegan spicy hot dog is the best. I get it with cream cheese, cheese, siracha, and onion! It's only open Fri and Sat nights - I manage a bar and after aong night. I get so excited to get a vegan dog! This is the perfect late night spot to grab a snack.

I walked here at 2AM in a pair of my boyfriends boxers and a tshirt to get a hot dog. Worth it.

The world needs more hotdog stands and carts and these guys have stepped up to make OB (at least) a better place.This stand is everything is should be. Quality dogs, well-prepared, with a good variety of options, served by nice people. Every neighborhood should have a cart like this.

Been waiting all week to try this spot and it did not disappoint! Good eats all around, plus the guys are super cool! One of the best dogs I've had!
