After reading all the reviews here I wanted to make a site visit and see for myself. Most of the negative reviews reflect on their delivery. I also wanted to dispel a lot of what people are saying, I deliver for uber eats and I got a pickup from here, so it in fact isn't the employees delivering the food, its legit uber eats and door dash etc. They have a big shelf for delivery drivers and I witnessed several drivers come in and collect orders. Saying that I walked in and it was dead quiet. The decor was nice, like someone actually spent time to decorate the place in an Egyptian theme. Finally was acknowledged after a few minutes and asked if I could sit inside and eat inside. The guy said I could. Gave me a menu and seated me. I ordered the kofta plate. with a water. About 15 minutes later a second guy gets a water bottle out of the cooler and places it down. (I later found out, he said because of covid, they can't have fountain drinks and also no silverware but disposable silverware.) I was the only person eating in there and the only other people I saw were to go orders and delivery drivers. The food took a semi long time to come out. About 25 minutes. The price was very good. The food was fresh I could tell. One complaint I have was the koftas were dry and charred. I am used to tender koftas. These had some crunch to them. I used the cucumber sauce to soften them up. Another complaint I would say is, the rice was bland, I would have loved for some hot sauce or maybe some Sumac to put on the whole dish. I doused the entire thing with the two ramekins of cucumber sauce, and it really improved the flavor. Staff were nice and the food was freshly made to order, so no problems there. Just -the wait times and the kofta doneness was the only real issue. Also the menu said "one pound of beef" which, when I first read it, gave me pause and I thought to myself "I can't eat one pound of beef" and when it came out it was more like 1/4 pound. Speaking of pounds - they had a promotional poster at the entrance and it was advertising specials in GBP and not USD lol I hated to see all these people complaining on here about this place when it was third party delivery drivers and not the fault of the restaurant. I wanted to see for myself. I do vote this place higher than the other local spot called Sam's Kabob Gyro.

I used uber eats while in the hospital. My purchase was $51.80 so I placed a sizable order for dinner. When I opened my box, I only had lettuce and tomatoes when I ordered a gyro salad. When I called Management to let them know, I was told it was nothing he could do now since the order was placed 11 hours ago. The order was placed during lunchtime (11:30 am) and I called to let management know at 9 pm. This is not 11 hours. However GOOD customer service would be to remake the mistaken order but I wasMet with hostility. I would never say anything Bad about a business but customer service is #1 in my book and this establishment doesn't come near a 10.

I read the reviews and wanted to give this place a try. I should have known better when I saw no one in the parking lot and a car on blocks in the parking lot. But I said ok the reviews weren't mixed and I wanted Great Greek food so I went in saw dirty tables and still I kept going to the counter. I will say they were polite and took my order and the wait was not that long. But the food was really bad. I ordered a Gyro Sandwich and Greek Salad. The meat was very dry and the vegetables were old e en cooked they looked old. The Salad tasted stale and the lettuce was brown, the olives were very bitter I threw it away. I have to say that this place needs to remake itself or shut down. It should not be serving food to the public.Gyro SandwichGreek Salad. I am giving this place one star because Yelp will not let me post without a star but in my opinion zero stars should be the rating.

Just got delivery from this place and it took 2 hrs, which happens. I'm sure things get backed up but then I get my food and the contents are all in the bag. I can only assume it sat in the guys car being thrown around for at least an hour. Tried calling the place and i couldn't get through then it's saying the number doesn't exist. Did I just get ghosted by a restaurant haha. Oh well, seriously a terrible experience. Maybe it's great if you go in but don't order to-go. I threw away my food because it was a giant mess.

Ordered via Uber Eats, the staff were to deliver the food. Delivery took well over an hour and when I called to check on the status, I initially spoke to a gentleman who told me my food was en route, however 30mins later I called back and he wouldn't pick up the phone until I called from another number. Food could be promising however I didn't receive the food hot so I couldn't enjoy it as I should have. Don't think I will be ordering or patronizing this business again

Just a heads up to anyone ordering from here. Placed an order on Uber eats and still haven't received it (restaurant staff delivers the food, not Uber). Called the restaurant for an update and the man was very rude saying my address was a park and they have tried contacting me, which they didn't. And yelling and cursing at me for no reason. Talked over me the whole time. Obviously can get my money back on Uber eats but no way a restaurant should act when I was simply checking for an update. Also restaurant has different names. I'm assuming because of other terrible reviews. Look up Tena's. Same address. Same people.

My buddy and I were hungry, so he suggested we go to Horus. At first I was iffy as the old Horus used to be more of a hookah bar and coffee shop/ lounge. I didn't enjoy the old place as it wasn't clean and the vibe wasn't cool at all. He insisted we give then a try since they are under new management and I'm SO GLAD that I did. We walked in and some of our friends were here, which was a good sign. We asked them how was their food and experience and they said it's good so we decided to get a table and sit down too. Food coma alert!! This place cleaned up so much. The Food was amazing. We had the dinner for 2 for $40. The portions were HUGE!! Started out with the hummus and whipped feta which is my favorite. Super flavorful. Then out soups came out in cool looking bowls. The mulukhyah and fasulye were tasty. We opted in for the large mixed grill and we couldn't finish it. Although both of us are big eaters. To sum it up we got the dessert: basboosah and Balah sham. The server was kind enough to give us a complimentary glash. The prices were affordable, service were great, and store is very nice and clean now. Highly recommend!

We had food delivered for Horus last night (via Doordash), and it was delicious! We started with the Greek salad for something light and then shared the whipped feta (not so much whipped as crumbled and tossed with herbs, spices, and peppers - very delicious though!) and the fasoulya (a bean soup/stew) for starters (the fasoulya had good flavor, but I thought the beans could have been more tender - not our favorite bite of food). Then we shared the pastitsio (on their menu as bechamel beef). If you've never had pastitsio, imagine a cross between moussaka and lasagna - pasta, ground meat (in this case beef), bechamel sauce, cheese. Horus's version was hearty and tasty and exactly what we wanted. We also shared a slice of basbousa (a semolina cake soaked in syrup). This was delicious, but it was a huge slice! (The picture on Doordash was a more traditional square piece - sometimes you also see it cut into diamonds - so we weren't expecting quite so much; we finished it though!) While we've never dined in, based on this delivery experience, I'd be happy to. And we'd be happy to order delivery or takeout from Horus again!

I ordered via a delivery service. The dolma (stuffed grape leaves) are a go/no-go for me in all middle eastern restaurants. The ones at Horus are clearly house made; the rice was perfectly al dente (and not the mush that you get from canned dolmas). The falafel wrap was outstanding as well; crispy, well seasoned, and not the slightest bit oily. The gyro was a bit les successful; the meat was tasty, but had no sear (and gyro meat needs a sear to achieve full flavor, IMHO). The prices were reasonable. Recommended for a delivery middle eastern lunch in Donelson.

As an Egyptian (born & raised), that was one experience that literally took me back home! With all the memories of the amazing food I used to eat back then! The food was cooked beyond perfect! Highly recommend & as you can see it was an uber eats order, came on time & was packed perfectly. Thanks you Horus!
