I recently visited this sushi spot and was greeted with such warm, friendly service that it made my day. The staff were absolutely wonderful, going above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and well-cared-for. However, the sushi itself didn't quite hit the high notes I was hoping for--the ingredients didn't seem as fresh or high-quality as I'd like. Despite this, the positive vibe from the staff made the experience enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try, if only to enjoy the excellent service and support a place that clearly values its customers.

Got take out the other night - amazing! We got the hot Cheeto roll, seared salmon roll, miso ramen and the Mongolian beef. Loved all of it! Mongolian beef was spicy but we are big spice fans so we enjoyed it . Our new go to sushi spot

Went again today with my hubby and we ordered 4 rolls: rainbow, seared salmon, spider, and kirin. Kirin and spider rolls were amazing! They were short staffed at the sushi bar, so it was a bit slow as the second chef called out sick. The wait wasn't terrible and everyone was very apologetic about it. The waitress was nice and the sushi chef was nice too talking to us and answering questions :) we will continue to support this local sushi place.

Really great and fresh sushi, crab Rangoons and hand rolls. We came and it was happy hour and we got some rolls off of there. They also had some drinks that I wasn't in the mood for but would try again when I come back. The girl who was out waiter was also very friendly and attentive.

ABSOLUTELY 5 ! While doing the standard; search Yelp for a place to eat, happy hour & something I've not tried...Well this was a big WIN The service is amazing, it's owned by a wonderful younger couple Peng & Tina. Peng runs the kitchen & Tina runs the floor, Tina is very sweet & personable. I am so glad we found this place, huge KUDOS to the Yelpers for visiting/ reviewing, Peng & Tina for having such a passion for service, great food & service. Started with; Miso soup & Cream cheese Rangoon. The miso soups could have been hotter buy the flavor was very good. The Rangoons are light, fluffy & tasty. The sushi rolls came with great presentation & really great flavor. We modified the "Golden spicy Tuna" to add jalapeno & cream cheese to the inside. We got turned onto this roll YEARS ago in Califonia (old favorite place). Now any sushi place we visit, we ask to have it modified, not too difficult, right? Well nope, nobody has been able to recreate this roll properly... UNTIL TODAY! It was perfectly prepared, held together & excellent amount of each ingredients, really flavorful! Ordered food to go, service was standard, can't speak towards ambiance much since it was empty inside when I picked up around weekday lunch. $40 for lunch, pretty filling. Maybe better pricing to come during happy hour evening. Hornbill special roll+/- pretty tasty, though hard to taste the inside with the sauce on topPhilly roll- cream cheese portions were larger than the fish...Tonkatsu ramen+/- great that the noodles and soup are separated, but I think the sesame oil used to keep the noodles from sticking was too strong when mixed in with the soup+/- the soup flavor was pretty mild, good for me since I enjoy flavors being not sooo salty, so that I can drink all the soup, but for others it may be little+ good amount of noodle portions- egg yolk inside was not soft at all, even considering the to-go process (I live 1 block away)

We had a great time at Hornbill on their grand opening weekend in April and everything was 30% off. Excellent quality from the sushi bar, happily responded to my request for salmon skin hand rolls extra crispy. Had a dragon roll with eep warm as well Yum! Grand opening special was 30% off everything, otherwise I would never would pay $11.99 for a large hot sake, available many other places for $7 regular or maybe $4 on happy hour. Now in May, I see they have (after many requests) added a happy hour menu with $5 California rolls and bombers, but it doesn't discount sake. I liked the staff and wish them a great success!

The best food off of 16th Street! Their service is always top notch, staff super friendly, and they give you extra of whatever you may need. The setting itself is spacious and you never feel crammed in which is a massive plus for us!If you are looking for some amazing spicy miso soup (they can do it with rice noodles for those of us with gluten sensitivity) or just some great sushi rolls, this is your spot!Wishing them the best of success and may all of your tummies leave a little bit happier than when they went in.

First time here staff is very friendly and I ordered to go took less than 10 minutes. I am not a fan of tuna but the Hornbill roll was visually pleasing and yummy. Miso soup tastes how you would expect it to. Total was a little over $20
